  1. I have no idea what you are saying. :megalol:
  2. Could we get some new call signs? Springfield, Chevy, Dodge & Uzi are getting pretty old!
  3. Anyone successfully created a mission with the Shark taking off from the Tarawa? I get a crash every time I try it. :-( I even used the USMC skin on the Shark lol. Note: This is in 2.2.
  4. I remember how impressed I was when I first jumped in the A-10 on the Rift! I remember finding myself trying to reach for switches in the cockpit! But, after the newness wore off, I too was disappointed in the settings I had to run at to keep decent frame rates. I eventually upgraded to a 1080ti card and it has made a huge difference. Now in 2.2 I am getting very smooth framerates AND good visuals! Very nice. Today I was flying without the Rift while I mapped some controls for the A/V-8B and thought.....UGH! Once you fly in VR its never the same again without it!!
  5. I have spent limited time in the Harrier so far, but it does suck gas!! I ran out of fuel trying to hurry up and land after I noticed the fuel warning lights. I don't think loitering much is going to be a thing in the Harrier. I never really worry much about fuel in the Hawg, in the Harrier I think its going to be an issue. Tanks, and fuel management will be important.
  6. Agreed, very nice update!! Good framerates in the Rift over downtown Vegas at low altitude!
  7. Hopefully someday ED will give the Warthog a little update. The exterior model could be a little nicer and the HMS could be added for starters.
  8. I agree, unlimited water would be a very good option.
  9. Well.....hopefully they get the additional weapons on board quickly, the lack of a pod and PGM's is going to be quite limiting for a while. On the positive side, I recently read a account of a Hornet pilot from the gulf war who talked about the iron bombs and how much they preferred the Mk 83. They thought they were just the right amount of "punch", with the Mk 84 being heavier than needed most of the time. So it will be nice to have Mk 83's.
  10. My Logitech keyless keyboard does not have a Right Windows key. (There is a FN key where it should be.) Any ideas for a work around other than reassigning the control? I am trying to program more stuff in Voice Attack since I am in the Rift almost all the time.
  11. I hope we get explosions in 2.5 that are as nice as the ones in the vid!!!
  12. I live a couple miles from an A-10 base, and have been to A-10 competitions, so I have seen a lot of them. I've seen it on both sides, our local squadron (190th FS) usually has it on 10, but I have seen other squadrons that usually have it on 2. Seems to kind of be squadron preference I guess? Or maybe the times I have seen them have just dictated the placement. In DCS, I personally like it on 2 because I prefer a left hand turn off target or orbit.
  13. I think that's crap. Many many of us have supported ED over many years with purchases, from Flanker to Lock On to Flaming Cliffs to multiple DCS modules. If you go buy about any other PC game its going to run you $59-$69, maybe $89 for a special edition. How much does DCS, a couple of terrain packs, and 6 aircraft modules cost? Many times that. I know I personally have purchased some modules more than once just to help support ED and others have as well. There are guys here who have probably spent $1000 on ED products, or more. And ED is very good at milking the $$$ out of their products, i.e. separating the WWII Assets from the Normandy terrain pack. I strongly support ED and they deliver some great products, but timely follow through and communications have been problems here forever. My personal opinion is they need to focus on projects and complete them before starting other projects. There have been too many half-completed modules released that never get to the potential they should because ED or the module designer don't finish them.
  14. I have been flying in CV1 for about a year and was always disappointed in the resolution. I recently upgraded my graphics card to a 1080 ti which has allowed me to up the settings quite a lot and it has made a huge difference. The A-10C (about 95% of my flying is in this bird) is quite readable with a pixel density of 1.5 and other settings on high, and other than a very occasional loading stutter everything is very very smooth. And head tracking with the CV1 is spot on. Just make sure flying in VR you remember to Alt-Enter to resize the monitor image to full screen so your cursor doesn't go bonkers.
  15. That helps, thanks.
  16. Made the jump from the GTX 970 to the GTX 1080 ti. Made a huge difference in playability in VR!! I am pretty clueless when it comes to overclocking though, any suggestions for settings in MSI Afterburner for this card?
  17. Thanks, that's where I am now. NTTR is passable, Normandy is not....at all. Next question.....are there newer better graphics cards on the horizon for VR?
  18. I am currently running a GTX 970. How much of a performance increase would I see if I upgraded to a 1080ti?
  19. Bingo, we have a winner. Military pilots spend a lot of time "head down" in their radars and other sensors, this allows them to still see critical flight info without looking up. I was told this by a very experienced USAF F-22 flight instructor.
  20. Cool find! Thanks!
  21. What is the current state of ASW? I know several months ago you had to do a registry edit and use the keyboard to turn it off and on. Has that changed? Is the edit still necessary, and is it still turned off and on manually?
  22. This is still a problem!!!
  23. Same here.
  24. Its too bad this module seems to be needing some attention. With Normandy on the horizon, this would be a must purchase if it were up to par.
