Tips for keeping the energy for dogfighting
draconus replied to WildeSau44's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Where do you get that precise number from? -
No, ED requested Steam to pull it too but the action takes time so it can be any minute.

Tips for keeping the energy for dogfighting
draconus replied to WildeSau44's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
There's no magic to it. When you go down you get energy back, when you go up you lose it. AB can accelerate you but only if you don't kill the thrust with the drag. That means you have to control how many Gs you pull on the stick. If you're fast you can afford to pull more. If you're slow you have to be gentle with it and allow it to regain the energy - yes, you'll lose some angles, that's part of the game. You can also mix it - pull more while nose down and pull less when going up. Practice, practice, practice! -
Nothing really changed for the modules since a year. They are still available on Steam though if you hurry up.

No need to be lazy as.

Why are you in the refund thread then? I'm glad I purchased and never regretted. Just did my first 6 JDAMs 6 targets run in one pass

As a minimum plan - just a thud sound and an event log note.

There are detection parameters (los, range, angles, light conditions, heat signature...) for different sensors, including visual without instruments, and when met they can "see" you, otherwise they don't. If it doesn't work like that it's a bug and you better spend your time on reporting. Same with accuracy, some of it is reported already.

I started even earlier with 8-bit sims but they never punished me for sloppy nose down landings until the real challenge started in LOMAC F-15 and then in DCS's PFM. Only then I learned to do it properly.

They always use in-game footage for these. And we have no J-15 in DCS, not even plans.

Thanks for the information. If you have the script, I guess it's possible to extract information about that event somehow and exclude other causes.

It is currently implemented only in a few modules. I'd love to have it as a standard for all modules.
-
At least make it implemented for all aircraft becuase currently I've ever got one only in FC3 birds.

I support both R&R areas as well EOR areas. Some additional ground crew service should be implemented to call upon for dead stick/emergency landed aircraft or the ones that lost power on rwy/taxi lines to get them out of the way. Those stuck in the grass can wait a few hours for special equipment

Where do you get these numbers from? He lands by the book with perfect 21-22 uAoA, only after TD there is 18-19. Then he specifically talks about keeping over 12 degrees nose up - while 13 is best. 15 is the high risk of tail strike and no one advises that. It might be fun and challenging but it's a totally different world - prop tail dragger vs jet tricycle. I find your "teachings" highly confusing esp. for novices.

Su-25T training mission #4 Beslan RWY reversed, mission too long
draconus replied to virgo47's topic in Bugs and Problems
I flew the mission and if you follow ATC it works fine to fly to the fixed point and then turn back onto RWY 28 but I agree with points presented by OP. They clearly have done something to the mission where you start farther away and fly longer with the hard turn back and some voice overs and messages are now wrong. -
There is a sliding lever under it - look for NATOPS foldouts at the end. I can't find any real pics though. Maybe in some book.

DCS gfx engine probably works correctly by drawing a texture at a given coordinates. Find where in the code the coordinates sent are wrong. Implement values sanity checks, check for negative or extreme values, ex. hit hole in the ground can't be bigger than x, coordinates of a hole can't be too far away from the hit point... This all seem obvious but sometimes it can put someone on a good track. Only devs can fix that.
-
What's not working? You just have to destroy the bridges. I tried the A version and it registered my hit status.
-
Ugra can't fix it. You have to harass ED about it, and not here. Yes, this, but they shouldn't make ones for the buildings that are empty inside.
