  1. Auto decides between 1 or 2 pixel dots depending on the display device and rendering resolution.
  2. You're wrong on all three points. There may be not much but enough for players to enjoy. There was never such intention. You are offered a good simulation of an aircraft for entertainment only. DCS is not made to hold your hand. You can use it to learn a lot of airmanship aspects but not all of them. You technically could flight a real deal but you will still have to learn IRL and get license.
  3. Frankly I see no point in playing old FC3 camapigns in new FF Eagle. Even if the scenarios and dialogs are good enough you'll miss nav and radio play.
  4. All settings are in 2nd menu no 6 CMs.
  5. What mission was that?
  6. Iirc they released the pilot model as first temporary version with intention to further upgrade it later in development.
  7. Well, they fly a lot better without bombs... pity
  8. You have to go here to delete some attachments: https://forum.dcs.world/attachments/ That way you'll release more quota.
  9. Yes, it should have some problems. Probably similar to what is modeled in F-15E or better. We don't know if ED will decide to increase its burn through range or model it differently in the new F-15C.
  10. It's a different system than label dots. It's been tweaked in 2023-2024 by ED. Basically it's a black single pixel or 2x2 square (depends on the display device, rendering resolution and spotting dots option set) over the air and ground units at distance when they would no longer be rendered normally as a visible model and they fade out with more distance.
  11. I already said what affects what and you called it cosmetics or nothing - that's your choice of definition (or ignorance). Let's add more "nothings": temperature does affect engine operation, it affects lift, fuel flow rate, some modules have ice/fog on windshield simulated, some have pitot icing simulated, it also affects the creation of contrails of jets and missiles. The clouds move with the wind so the "weather set" stays the same in the air but it changes through time for any given place and fog/dust storm does change with time for the whole map.
  12. Is that what you want?
  13. Even as simple as that, can we move it to the wishlist @BIGNEWY?
  14. DCS offers you the simulated aircraft and environment to fly in. It comes with manual. Most come with training missions. Everything else is on the user to learn and you have plenty to choose from - forum to ask, videos to watch, RL instructors or just DCS instructors, paid or not. Whether it's trainer aircraft or not - doesn't matter. You like it - you buy it and fly it. That's DCS World but nobody forces you to fight, bomb or shot. You don't even have to fly but that's not about it here. There may be different reasons for why trainers are bought. Some simply like the aircraft. Some just want to support the devs. Some want to experience different type of play with some DLC campaign (like the Kursant for L-39) or MP. Some fly aerobatics only. There maybe also be some that want to replicate RL training process from basics to advanced skills, from low powered prop, through simple jet on to the final fighter jet type. You can have all that in DCS.
  15. Afaik this is rendered as sphere top (Earth curvature) seen from camera location so you should be able to see the borders when you get higher because of our maps flatness.
  16. Not a word about Dick, politics and Hornet Mafia?!
  17. It was also mainly Australian training area like NTTR.
  18. Try to stay with F-14 here.
  19. So what's your point? Rain, fog/dust and clouds will seriously affect your vision out of the cockpit, winds and turbulence directly affect your flying, sun can affect readability of your HUD or other instruments - just cosmetics?
  20. I can't agree with that. Maybe the aircraft and problem is very unpopular? Maybe it's some other language subforum? Maybe the poster had specific attitude? You can't know if it the issue was noticed since there is sometimes no feedback and there are no public bug trackers but we're assured devs read the posts.
  21. Totally agree. It's one thing to show off pretty spots of released map (that's understandable, you want to show your product the best way*) but when they look much different on users' computers it's false marketing. I heard it was that way with SA and Kola. It was also a case with Giza pyramids. Afair they used to show new Kuznetsov in many videos years before it was finally released. * That usually means 90% shots are at sun set, showing actually black shadowed ground. Add fog, clouds and rain mixed with sunny places and you have a beautyful shot. Fair enough.
