  1. You feel? No screenshot or track? It depends on time of day and weather.
  2. What entry barrier? Almost all modules are free to test and 2 are free permanently. Be it by yourself or with a friend as an instructor in the two seat trainer - it's all there already. For single player you just click Instant Action and you fly - just like I do it with 5-10 year old kids I used to let play my DCS. "OK, I fly, how to shoot? You click here, now gun trigger is working. Cool!" One thing at a time you learn if you want. Most don't want to learn. They just want to play. DCS lets you do that too but that'd be just like testing vehicles in WT. How seating back seat while your friend is flying is better than good video tutorial or a mission walkthrough with comments? You can take over the stick and ask questions. But you can't pause or rewind like in a tutorial. You don't see what your friend is doing or clicking. That's bad for learning. Again, I'm not against Texan. It's cool aircraft, alright. What learning possibilites it would bring as a new free 2-seater trainer? None. It's all already here with L-39 or C-101.
  3. It's not mission related fyi.
  4. Yes but only because they already sold P-51D and could provide TF-51D, 2 years later, with minimal effort. Note that AT-6B has more powerful engine and reinforced structure so it's not just an avionics, sensors and weapons upgrade, which means also FM model changes. I don't argue when someone just want to fly particular aircraft and we even have a few trainers in DCS but they are not needed at all in that role for the game unless you really want to recreate RL trainings. If someone feels overwhelmed there are Flaming Cliffs aircraft to ease up the first steps. As already said all available to try for 2 weeks for free.
  5. We're talking about 2-3 years of development for the team of at least 2-3 very talented and experienced people to make aircraft model, full cockpit, systems, controls, FM, DM, sounds, textures and skins - who's gonna pay for their work?
  6. Doesn't current M240 infantry lay down for shooting?
  7. Imho simulation is better when the cover blocks visibility and gun fire, it's more realistic than acting as invisible.
  8. If they are in orbit they will be hard target to take out at long range probably due to MLC.
  9. Yeah, typical old school, easy to learn, hard to master.
  10. The covers are clearly too high for MBTs. They either can't see over or even move the turret (you might have put one of them too far forward).
  11. Definitely MiG-29 this year, the rest is the future.
  12. All cases are different. There are a lot of forum threads about it but it's certainly not easy. Ex.:
  13. This is how radars work. As long as 2 target stay in 1 radar cell you get one target detected. Maybe RWS is bugged here.
  14. After you quit from the mission you can save a track file but I'm afraid it won't help in this case. You'd be better off uploading a video with some external software or even your phone to show off what it looks like on your side. If you have any mods remove them. Upload your \saved games\dcs\logs\dcs.log file. Instead of reinstall do this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/repair/#3340875
  15. No, it is doable but you need knowledge (manual) and experience to do it (plus testing). Many mission creators have done great missions with both new deck crew and full decks.
  16. The most obvious and simple way is to resize the rail texture but then the bridge model will be wrong with their actual rails. Are the train models oversized a bit? Idk but it's way more work to correct it now - so I guess take it as it is and better luck with the new maps
  17. It is but it's only for internal single engine fire. https://heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html#fire-suppression-system Hand pump is only for the brakes and refueling probe. https://heatblur.se/F-14Manual/cockpit.html#hydraulic-hand-pump
  18. Don't bother. The train wheels are not even riding on the actual rails on Caucasus. They use bigger train gauge.
  19. It used to be one of the tactics either trail (to hide behind others in radar shadow) or close formation (to represent one target). For the first you can change aspect but they still can fly toward you and adjust formation but they can't hide if you have a wingman or datalink. For the second your radar will eventually separate the targets when close enough. The whole idae of mobile Carrier Battle Group is to make sure no surprises ever happen. That means constantly gathering info from intelligence, satellite data, long range radars, AWACS, having AEGIS and patrol flights especially when there's high chance of the attack and also far enough from the enemy territory. Letting Bears as close as 50nm to the carrier is fiction. Having Tomcats as the only protection also is. Leaving carrier as a lone ship... yes, fiction too.
  20. First off, DLC is not a surface. It's a system. It uses inner sections of spoilers to control lift. Yeah, when you engage it it moves the spoilers to the middle position, so it adds some drag, but it does so you can easily control the lift from there by either increasing it or decreasing by the spoiler movement up/down - that's the primary reason, braking is just the side effect compared to DLC off. https://heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html#dlc-direct-lift-control It's there to help pilots with easier and safer Tomcat landings, period, not to brag about "I did SHB without even touching DLC ".
  21. According to this info: it will be new cockpit, external and pilot model.
  22. Thanks ED and @currenthill for your work on the assets, this is great news
