My understanding is the same, suppression fire main job is not damage or destroy target but rather to unable enemy to shoot back. But in order to suppression has any effect you need quite a fire power, i mean that single P-51 will not suppress whole ship at once.

This is correct, no tracer rounds in 20mm ammo belt.

missing info Statistics regarding the damage inflicted by Guns
grafspee replied to amazingme's topic in New Damage Model Bugs
@amazingme still MK108 performing very well almost twice efficient then 20mm Hispano, what strikes me is if the difference between Hispano and mg151/20, provided that both are 20mm. And MG 131 which is 13mm as i remember, performing at 20mm level, very impressive. My theory is that placement of the guns make up in efficiency. -
correct as-is Engine over heat issue is back
grafspee replied to BSS_Vidar's topic in Bugs and Problems
@spinCycle small correction Manifold pressure in P-51 is in inHg not in psi and it is absolute pressure so when engine is not running it will show 30 inHg. 50 inch of MP it will be about 10psi boost or 24psi absolute pressure in manifold. at 110mph you are very close to stall speed, it is very slow, cooling system will not cool engine at this speed. After take off accelerate to 170-180 mph and put plane in to climb. As @Art-J said, i highly recommend to drop Game Flight Mode immediately. -

What warheads do the HVAR have on the P47?
grafspee replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
After quick research i will say that HVARs in DCS are early version which consists pretty much warhead from 5" gun which will be HE warhead.- 1 reply

Simple statement "no plans for it in near future" would be enough.

+1 1.58/1.65 ATA that would make Anton very interesting plane! Shame that there is not a single comment from ED about this, so this thing is unknown, it could be that it won't be implemented at all.

Ah yeah, the eyes

It's is not made of 100% wood so no, it is not an ent

Same when you set flaps for take off, Anton has same issue, and this thing is in DCS since i remember.

@Doughguy @352nd_Hoss Ram air effect is the most noticeable in gap between 1st supercharger speed crit alt and 2nd supercharger kick in alt and above 2nd supercharger speed crit alt which is around 26k-27k. But in order to test if ram air works, you don't need to climb there, you can check ram air at SL, you just need to have your MP outside of boost control range which is below 41-42 inch.
-
You can perform quick check if ram air works or not, in flight drop MP below 42" i set mine 30'-35" then cycle your cold air control and watch your MP if you can see change in MP then you are good if not that mean your ram air not working

investigating Unable to lock stick in FWD position
grafspee replied to razo+r's topic in Bugs and Problems
Forward position is used when plane is towed by other vehicle so tail must remain unlocked in that situation. -
Yeah Dora has different engine, and it revs to 3250rpm and this alone allow for higher boost. You can check it but Dora boost up to around 2.1 ATA even at lower speed, so max ATA is not affected by air speed like in Anton.

Is the G model cockpit much different to the K
grafspee replied to nick10's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
@ DB 605 i may looked at wrong photos but i don't see much of the differences, throttle quadrant, front dash panel trim wheel + flap wheel are pretty much the same. -
It is not psi in P-47 but inHg 30" = 1.1ATA. P-47 does not have boost regulator, so pilot have to watch MP in dives. Fw190 does have and i don't know why it allow to boost go beyond max limit.
-
Yes you can sustain it in level flight, you cant sustain this very high ATA it will drop when speed drops but in level flight you are able to sustain high ATA for very long time, just not as high as in dive
-
Oh yes i can, max ATA depends on how much RAM do you have.
-
I climb to alt where second gear kick in and then i descend and ATA is rising up above 1.42, as far as i am concern it is just straight bug, Anton broken beyond limits. ED it is time to fix stuff, it is about time to do it.
-
This is what i could get. Can we call it 1.58ATA ?

investigating Suicide Mission For Navigators.
grafspee replied to Tinkickef's topic in Bugs and Problems
Imho navigator should bail first when pilot control plane withing available limits, if pilot would bail out first situation may develop in to situation when nawigator will no longer be able to jump out, something like spin, excessive speed etc. So it should look like this, when you tap eject command you should see navigator bailing out first, while you are trying to keep plane controlled navigator has time to deal with door so when he jumps, you just jump right after him everything got ready by navigator. -
Is the G model cockpit much different to the K
grafspee replied to nick10's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Cockpit lay out was pretty much the same, some gauges could be missing or being placed in different location, like mw50 injection gauge but overall it was the same, but cockpit layout is only tiny problem when we are talking about adding G-14 G-10 or G-6, this include 3D and texture modeling and of FM and systems modeling which could be different then in K-4. -
