  1. Looks fantastic. Would love to have the .miz template. Many thanks.
  2. A few additional thoughts: * I've never come close to flying a hornet but I've flown a few GA aircraft. Constantly trimming on those planes. Hornet is a little easier since it will auto trim for pitch. * Trimming does take several seconds of holding the switch to get close to being balanced. * Heading hold mode will keep the wings straight and level both before and after weapons release. Hope this helps. Remember, you need to fly this thing.
  3. Trimming every time a weapon is released is normal as jet is "out of balance".
  4. I've gotten good results with CCIP flying 500knots @ 500 ft AGL. I don't believe this is realistic at all so if may be of limited value to you. I remember hearing a F18 pilot say that they mainly use AUTO as less chance of error.
  5. Appreciate the quick heads up and transparency on this change. Keep up the good work!! And definitely the right call to release the TPod this week in a good state rather than try to meet an estimate and having something that's half baked.
  6. That's pretty much what it will be used for 90% of the time. :)
  7. I'm having so much fun with the JSOW that I really don't care about the targeting pod right now. It will be ready when it's ready. ED didn't promise anything. They gave an estimate. Things change and I'm okay with that. Why get stressed over something that you do to relax.
  8. I maintain 30 degrees of bank until around 45 degrees from the runway centre line. After that I just align visually. In short, use 30 degrees to get the turn started then once you can see the runway, adjust bank so that you set up on finals nicely.
  9. I have Track IR and while I don't think this is mandatory it's definitely in the nice to have category. It increases immersion significantly and makes changing modes / selecting on the DDIs much easier. I just wish I had a third one for the AMPCD.
  10. Fighter Pilot Podcast covers this in a reasonable amount of detail. I can't remember exactly which episode but Jello goes through it in a response to a listener question. https://www.fighterpilotpodcast.com/ Hope this helps.
  11. And your review was great. Thank you.
  12. Good luck. Please post a review when ready.
  13. I think in real life a ground crew needs to store the ladder, so hopefully we'll eventually get a ground crew command for them to do this.
  14. X Plane 10 had a mobile phone version. You tilted / rotated the phone for joystick.
  15. Does this mean that INS alignment is (partially?) implemented now?
  16. +1 I'd rather they get it right the first time then try to fix problems on the fly to meet some "deadline". If it means a couple more weeks then so be it.
  17. Looks like I just found a compelling reason to get a VR headset. Now I have choose which one....
  18. One way to counter this is to add power before making the turn. Similarly before you exit the turn, bring the throttle back a bit. It takes a bit of practice to get it right.
  19. I've had no issues. But for me, the trick is to get in close. I try to be at 1,500ft before pulling the trigger.
  20. I found the F-18 to be much more intuitive to use then the A-10C. I never got on top of the SPI/SOI thing, whereas the F-18 seemed more "point and shoot". I'm looking forward to learning how the Viper works.
  21. I know Wags has ruled it out but hopefully at some point they reconsider. even if they just make a version of a similar time frame to the F/A-18C Lot 20 i.e. 2005 or so. It would be great to have the extra fuel / range, a couple of more pylon stations and a higher trap weight. And most important, buddy refueling.
  22. Thanks for the update. Will be a great way to start the new year.
  23. Don't forget that you need to let the MAV IR sensor "cool down" before you can slew it around. It takes around 2-3 minutes. After that, you can follow the steps above.
  24. Don't feel too bad. My high score is 38! :megalol:
