  1. Very useful thread. Thank you.
  2. I know the developers have ruled out the Super Hornet, but would love to see this.
  3. Not true at all.
  4. +1 nailed it. If you're interested in the Hornet just get it. There is more than enough to keep you going.
  5. Agree with the others that Head Tracking should be prioritized over Rudders. I would also recommend Tacview. I believe it's on sale now though there is a free version as well.
  6. auto pilot and auto throttle is another give you more bandwidth to locate and lock the target. I don't think this is done in real life but if it helps then go for it.
  7. Thank you. That thread is very helpful.
  8. My rift arrived! Wow - I had no idea how good this is. The cockpit just pops out at you and suddenly it all makes sense. Hopefully I can get over the motion sickness in the next few days.
  9. I haven't seen anything on this either. I'm hoping there will be a pushback, even if it is just pressing a key. I'd like to park my jet "properly" after trapping.
  10. +1 This would be the best Christmas ever!
  11. I think you have a point with the F-16C. I found it somewhat jitterish when taxiing & takeoff. Adjusting the curves / deadzone helped a little but it still wasn't as stable as others. Maybe that's how it really is; I've got no way of knowing. Anyway I figured it was early access and eventually it will get sorted.
  12. I'm sure I'm in a small minority here but wish ED would prioritize fixing the flight model / negative ground effect first.
  13. I've had no problems with the Hornet's ground handling. Is it possible that your rudder is being bound to another set of control inputs? I notice this happens from time to time. You set it for Axis Z but it's also bound to some something on your throttle. Have a look at the control panel to make sure there are no other bindings.
  14. +1
  15. Harker - excellent assessment. Like you, the Hornet will remain my go to but I do appreciate what the JF-17 brings. We live in good times.
  16. Carrier Ops is the main one. The other differences are really down to personal preference. I have both but still spending most time in the Bug because I like flying in circles around boats.
  17. This is well worth getting.
  18. It sounds like your issue is that you spend a lot of time tyring to hold 600ft in the downwind. As other have mentioned two good techniques to minimize the ballooning is to: 1. drop the gear and flaps in the turn; or 2. wait to your airspeed is around 180 knots. You should also try to anticipate the ballooning and use the joystick to adjust the pitch to offset it.
  19. Thank you!
  20. It must be getting close to release. Fingers crossed for Christmas
  21. It's weird (and frustrating) what goes into the log and what gets left out.
  22. I had some more time on it last night... This is very subjective but for some reason I just find this jet fun in a way the Viper isn't. I can't put my finger on why it is the case but just taking it up for a spin puts a smile on my face. She just "feels" light and playful.
  23. I agree with Strat Mike - it's better to bind it yourself. The process takes about 30 minutes to an hour but it really helps you memorize where the controls are. If it seems a bit daunting just do it in steps as you learn the plane. i.e. do the key axis commands first along with the weapons release / gun trigger. Then just go from there.
  24. It's fun to fly and seems to be in a better state of completion than than the Viper / Hornet so I do think it's worth buying now and saving $10. Of course you can wait for a sale and pick it up later on. Having different weapons to learn to use will also be interesting. Most of my DCS is spent flying the Hornet. I bought the Viper but have hardly flown it. The JF17, I feel more excited about and I'm sure I'll spend more time in it.
