  1. Exactly! That is precisely the point. What antiskid does is when it detects the wheels are turning slower than the forward motion of the aircraft (I suppose with some threshold) it decreases some braking force on the brakepads to keep the wheels turning. The resulting consequence you just made visible :)
  2. Yes this is something you can try. On mine it did exactly as yours: in a flight sim (both DCS and FSX), it had the error, but not with any other game.
  3. Hi, Do you have full-screen enabled? If so, disable it. You can look into SoftTH. If you use that you can keep fullscreen enabled.
  4. At this time 1.2.7 is a final release. Download here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ All the modules you can download in the module manager (which is in the single player part of the sim).
  5. Hi, I had that with one of my previous graphics card (gtx295). The card was on the brink of death for me. Perhaps you can provide screenshots/film of what happens to the RMA company.
  6. Anti-skid = abs for cars. The aim of this system is to keep the tyres rolling. This so you are always in control. Imagine you are in a car (without ABS) and you stamp on the brakes. The front wheels lock up. You can play jingle with your steering wheel, but the car is going in a straight line. If the car would be fitted with ABS, the system would prevent the front wheels from locking, and thus you still have control of your car. Downside of this is that it increases the stopping distance theoretically. Same applies with aircraft. Try it: Land twice in the same conditions (approach speed, touchdownpoint), with and without antiskid. Plonk on full brakes and see where you stop.
  7. Circle strafing isn't something I do (or have to do) regularly, but in my opinion it could be usefull when engaging troops. The most profiting I think from this manouevre: practice of skill. It takes good coordination to do, as well as forces you to also look around at the same time to see if you're not going to hit anything. What Bushmanni says is also true. What remains paramount in that situation is that you keep your situational awareness. But the SA is an entirely different subject.
  8. As I suggested above: if and only if you have the heli under control. Dumping the stores is going to do bum all.. All it's potentially going to be doing is distracting you from regaining control. Furthermore: if you have the heli under control, why dump the stores? Yes it's a video game it doesn't matter... But if the mission has limited ammunition.. It might make a difference.
  9. Ogoe goe ga ga?? *drool-dripp* BLEEH.. *brup..*
  10. .5 inches??? So a part (let's say something like a square block with extrudes or something) could be .5 inches off????
  11. One more question: how can this stuff be painted? Or does the plastic come coloured? Backlighting possible?
  12. What I'm working on is a box which fits TomDK's gear handle, so it's specific to that. When it's done I can drop the solidworks model here if anyone wants it.
  13. Appears to be pointing to the release version (i.e NOT the open beta any more). Waiting for a ED official to jump in :)
  14. Slowpoke :P http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119577
  15. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/dcs_1_2_7_is_now_available/ Changelog too long to post LOL
  16. Note it says "FAILURE". That doesn't mean battle damage. Like Sobek says: the prop spinner is at the pointy end of the aircraft --> large chance of being hit.
  17. No fuel tank representation. The external fuel tanks feed the internal tanks directly (until they are empty off course :P )
  18. Taxi onto the runway and hold there, via entry D1.
  19. True, but if and only if you have the helicopter under control. If you aren't in control of the damn thing jettisoning the stores won't help at all.
  20. Oh I might have something for you. Let me work on a 3D model (read: gear lever assembly). Just to confirm: 8x8x8 inch, is about... 20x20x20 cm? The materials: How strong are they? What's the smoothness of the surface? What's the precision of the printer?
  21. Jep! You are quite correct actually, used those as well. It's a fragile piece of :helpsmilie:, but I'm NOT going back to wearing a cap.
  22. Losing hyd press generally makes you lose your AP channels, so expect the aircraft to behave less stable. RTB as best you can, but remember this: before you start messing with your gear and such: FLY. Staying alive is far more important than doing a belly landing (which is just a landing, but a bit more challenging). Over your right shoulder you can see gauges for your primary and seconday (and accumulator for that matter) hyd systems. If you only lose your primary system, the gear can still come down, but you have to switch to the secondary system for the gear (this can be done with the covered switch near the gear lever). If however, you lose both systems, you have to perform a belly landing. You can practice this off course by either setting failures in a training mission, or you can switch the primary hyd system off (switch on the right switchpanel).
  23. Hope it helps :)
  24. Try installing DCS outside the Program files folder. I.e. somewhere like C:\FlightSims\DCS...
