  1. yep megahappy with what DCS currently offers and thankful for being able to fly.
  2. yeah those days for a quick 40 minute hop after dinner, instead wasted chekcing forums, online resources, different apps with a billion settings...
  3. Well I gotta admit monitor is great for mission editor
  4. firstly, start DCS on monitor and take a look at Options - VR tab, there are several which apply to mouse window and limits.
  5. ups! your mindset will lead to disappointment sir. At the end of the day, it´s a Hollywood movie. You want a plausible reason for F-35? No way Navy is going to show avionics like they did with the SuperHornet. Another one? no 2 seat version so impossible for the actors to fly and film the real thing. Just grab popcorn, imax theater and enjoy. It´s a great action movie, and amazing sequel and homage to 1986 one.
  6. for several summers a cheap $5 usb fan placed in front of me has served me well. It died a few weeks ago. Then I bought a much more expensive $25 rechargable fan with double outlet which hangs around my neck. Pretty convenient too https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cat-neck-Adjustable-Rechargeable-Portable-Bladeless/dp/B092SF4MMS
  7. then I will throw in the last effort to convert you to VR religion: VR videos where adults do adults' things with few clothing. If that doesn´t trigger your interest, I don´t know what will do LOL
  8. Map the "lower the seat" and "rise the seat" commands I like to put bomb mode, and fly alongside the tanker. Matching airspeed. Then trimming for level flight. Then moving into precontact position. Sometimes after matching tankers airspeed, I like to move the anemometer bug to show tankers airspeed, for a visual clue for forward and backward movement. My strong advice is do not move into precontact if the airframe is not trimmed. Another detail, for learning, avoid S-3 Viking, and use KC-130 and -135 instead. They are easier. Modify the mission so the straight leg of their racetrack pattern is longer, you will deal with turning tankers later on on your training. For offset alignment, I like to put the left red wingtip of the tanker right at the center of the canopy frame. All in all, remember AAR doesn´t get easier, you just become more proficient at it, like Mooch said on his video. Happy flying sir!!
  9. this is not a critical message for you, but it´s amazing how mankind believe we are going to live forever, meanwhile that our lives being finite is one of the few actual true facts of the universe.
  10. I have MSAA at 2x. On VR, and my PC is 4 year old mid range with RTX2080Ti in addition Honestly there are so many factors involved, it´s hard to tell regarding performance. And I fly with a lot of MFDs and button boxes with no need to peek under the visor.
  11. I could show you a printed 8K or 16K picture of Las Vegas Grand Canyon. Or I could hook you a cheap vr headset and launch VR Google Earth and teleport to the same spot of the pic taken, and you tell me what option makes you feel more "in there".
  12. yeah no vr user can see the keyboard, but we feel it instead. Its very doable, don´t limit yourself. the very same with trackir you don´t stare at your hotas to operate.
  13. I was just agreeing on the "best kneeboard ever" remark
  14. old cars usually have the chance to dettach the headrest. also worth mentioning, if going to a car junkyard, look for co-driver seats, much less mileage on them!
  15. I will check later although I might choose the regular Stennis carrier for the sake of performance. And fighting for hook and flaps down lol, arguments 9,10 and 25 seem to ignore me
  16. well my efforts so far, empty carrier, sunset, a lone tomcat over the ramp sceneVR.lua the carrier textures render funny, only on one eye.
  17. whats the proper model name for regular carrier and supercarrier?
  18. Monstertech sells one, pricetag could easily put you off. I bought one from this guy from Hungary, he sells through Facebook mostly. Simple Simpit https://www.facebook.com/SIMpleSIMpit/?tn-str=k*F he also builds Mig-29 sticks, rudder pedals... high quality builds.
  19. It should be noted F1M airframes were scoring great grades for bombing competitions for Spanish Air Forces, rivals including Harrier and EF-18 Hornet.
  20. yeah that´s a common issue with that device, sadly.
  21. They are an amazing piece of Hardware
  22. Pressing ctrl+y on external F2 view will show GS
