Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Most likely the new module is not supported so far. As usual Olaf depends on donations for adding support for newer modules -
Using buttkicker in DCS
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to markturner1960's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Please list the audio devices on your current computer and we can take a closer look. I'm sorry I'm on vacation and can't provide examples from screenshoots of my system. The easiest way would be buying the usb external soundcard. Once you get simshaker sound module, and start the app, it will ask you to choose what audio source you want For the Buttkicker to be fed from. It's a drop down menu with all the devices available on your computer and recognized by windows. The software reads dcs telemetry and plays certain wav files depending on the effects triggered. So you don't have to modify anything of your installation. You will be only adding a cheap device which will exclusively send a signal to the Buttkicker amp. I'm sorry if the message is not clear enough, again don't hesitate for further questions You are missing a lot of info there, and it's only $5 away with a external usb soundcard -
Using buttkicker in DCS
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to markturner1960's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is one method. Other options are Andre Jetseat or bass shaker / shakers/transducers. Different budgets definitely. Tactile /hepatic feedback is for me mandatory to fly. For helos and tomcat it really stands out. Once tested, the sim feels numb, empty and dead without that kind of feedback. Its truly customizable, and you can add several layers, ie, a Jetseat plus 2 shakers. All in all, yes it's worth it. -
Using buttkicker in DCS
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to markturner1960's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sound mode is very limited, I recommend going the telemetry way instead. Buy $30 simshaker sound module. Assing the soundcard which will feed the Buttkicker. Install free simshaker for aviators software. Start it. Start sound module. Now when dcs starts, it will read the modules you fly, and you willl be able to customize many effects for each. Guns, turbulence, geffect, sppedbrakes, hook, wing folds and many more. With a 0-100 range for each. Let me know if you are missing more info, glad to help u -

Using buttkicker in DCS

I guess simshaker sound module still applies, like with the previous buttkicker version, to read dcs game data. -
PC upgrade - Mobo, CPU and RAM
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Ala12Rv-Tundra's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Already got a M2 samsung 970 as win system disk, I have to check if my current motherboard would allow to maximize m2 speed when two units are plugged at the same time, or cut the bandwith in half. As of today, I have dcs installed into a 1tb crucial mx500 ssd -

sorry im late for the party. lower your seat so you can see the tanker wingtip red light. Put that damn light right at the center of the front windshield, and your lateral spacing will be golden. You can see the thumbnail of that video, even though the red light is slighty offset to the right. The wingtip light will help you even for when the tanker is turning. That´s why seeing it is paramount.

Kidnapping this thread; I usually hot start, and gun elev is set to 58 mils. When cold start, it´s set to 0 mils. In case I forget to change this, how does this affect?

Thrustmaster TARGET and Cougar MFDs
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to moggel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
in all honesty, I only used target to assign the devices # number. I have 3 MFDs so they can´t be named the same. Other than that, I use DCS ingame options controllers for binding. -
did you buy games from oculus store?

Bankler's CASE 1 Recovery Trainer
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Bankler's topic in Missions and Campaigns
You can easily modify the original file and relocate the Tomcat air slots, I managed to put them around 25nm south from the carrier. If you have any issues, I could share the file with you. -
you're very gifted sir

PC upgrade - Mobo, CPU and RAM
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Ala12Rv-Tundra's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yeah I don´t mind spending mid level budget every 2-3 years. my current PC survived this long mostly becuase of pandemic price effects and gpu shortage, and because I was lucky enough to upgrade my GPU during xmas 2020 at a decent price. thanks everyone, you are helping a lot.
