then you should stick to Steam version, and choose openbeta to be up to date with new releases and versions. no need to go standalone

For Marianas I created a less demanding profile (mostly two shadows settings) and it´s virtually a click away making the map flyable. That´s what ED provide the chance to create several graphical profiles.

Saving this, I payed €52 on Steam and other users keep saying stay away from Steam because ED gets more money on standalone

Whererever I came across a similar situation on any game, I wonder if we are asumming we all have our monitors decently calibrated for starters. Monitors or whatever device you played the promo videos on. Then using ingame gamma or 3rd party apps like reshade for manual tuning to your very own likings.

you could also play steam openbeta. if you are asking because of better pricing through steam, then forget my answer

I dont use target at all. I use the throttle boat switch so like you say, it's not momentary, fwd action for VR zoom, and modifier+fwd action for spyglass zoom, and I don't need to keep pressing on the button

you need to buy the sound module addon, and unsing simshaker for aviatiors, go to settings tab, output mode, simultaneous output must be checked. then you will have two columns, to assign effects individually for the jetseat and the BK

I 3d printed a model I found on thingverse.com website. Then some sanding, or applying filler, paints from plastic models and gloss varnish for metallic look. Not much expensive either
