  1. Well the S-8KOM is a heat warhead it's also suppose to have a fragmentation component that is lethal to 12 meters. But if the M151 is just high explosive the why does it have a higher piercing weight then the S-8KOM isn't that related to armor penetration?
  2. So looking at the explosive mass stats in game. The S-8KOM (which is the standard most common S-8 rocket used) seems to be really weak compared to the M151 which is the smaller rocket for the Hydra pod. Even the S-80FP2 which is a newer rocket and with a much bigger warhead supposedly is a lot weaker then the M151 rocket in game?
  3. Crap if that is the case the S-8KOM hits way way less then the much smaller warhead in real life as the M151 Why the heck is there so much of a difference, where would I even go to report to see if this is a bug?
  4. Posted on March 16, a little over 3 weeks old.
  5. Yeah basically that...although I feel they should have maybe spent a bit more time focusing on the radar instead of leaving the likely most complicated part last...I mean maybe I'm wrong and they've been developing it the whole time but we've seen nothing of the radar, except for the powered down scope in the cockpit no screen shots, no acm modes, for when they used the gun.... I mean at this point they should at least have put up a screenshot of the radar scope turned on and active...even if it ends up looking a bit different in final implementation.
  6. So currently the best rockets S-8 rockets for the Hind are the S-80FP2 rockets, as they do the most damage which makes sense because it's a HE frag rocket with a large warhead and the weight that goes with it, and it also is quite new, having come out in the 2010s However the S-8KOM is generally the most used rocket of the S-8 family and it's a HEAT frag warhead as well with a lethal range of about 12m supposedly. In game splash damage seems to be quite weak, and when compared to the M229 rocket which had a much smaller warhead weight wise. Does anyone else feel the damage of the S-8KOM rocket is weaker then it should be. Also can anyone confirm the date when S-80FP2s came out?
  7. Yeah i thought it only started after the first patch. In the initial release I believe it would stay put.
  8. I was wondering how long the INU alignment is suppose to take?.It seems to take longer for me in a mission editor start up mission. Then in videos on YouTube. I assume like a INS I want it to complete before I take off
  9. So if i'm the pilot and if I tell George who is the CPG to unslave in the command wheel. He will bring the TADS to center, but it won't stay there, it will focus on the spot when I commanded the unslave that was at the center position, and I will have to continuously command him to unslave to bring the TADS to the center position. In game this doesn't do much except make slaving the tads slightly slower.
  10. So attacking the same ural truck target with rockets the M229 heavy HE rocket seems to do more damage then both the larger S-8KOM and the even larger S-8OFP versions. Is the damage too high for these rockets, or is the damage for the S-8 rockets too low? Is there anyway to check what they are set to do for damage in game, I tried multiple tests and it seems that the M229 has significantly more splash damage, which based on the fact that it seems to have a smaller warhead in real life doesn't make a ton of sense. I know the S-08KOM is a heat/frag warhead so maybe not so big of an explosion from that and it's more focused but the S-8OFP is a high explosive warhead, and it doesn't seem to have nearly the same splash damage as the M229. personally I think the M229 rockets are fine, but I've always found the S-8 series to be a tiny bit underwhelming.
  11. Yeah It's not just me. Saw it on a YouTube video someone posted below at time Stamp 16:41
  12. It's only happens when I tilt my head down at a specific angle. and only on the Apache, doesn't happen on KA-50 or Mi-24P apacherotarglitch.trk
  13. From using Petrovich in the Hind give some manual lead with the aircraft to help with the gunners lead. That usually works Or get closer. 8km shoots on moving targets are harder to stick, bring it to within 5-6km
  14. I seem to get a graphics glitch on the moving main rotar when in the pilots seat. Parts of the blade when I look straight ahead become visible, but when I look up it disappears as part of the regular blur of the rotar. Will try to get a picture of it or track file later
  15. That's normal. Your basically at max level flight speed with weapons attached for the Apache D. She isn't slow persay, but she isn't nearly as fast as say the Hind, That can basically match that speed at max cruise power settings. She was a lot more squirrely taking off then I expected especially since I'm so used to the Mi-24. The main thing messing me up is the pedal trim. I ended up disabling it because using the force trim button it adjusts too violently if I made large pedal movements.
  16. The different ranges are going to take some getting used to 60nm markers every 10 then 35nm with markers at 10 then 15nm markers at 5 then 7nm marker at 2
  17. Yeah I've been trying to get some more information on this. hard to get a definitive answer.
  18. What are the new modes specifically?
  19. I knew it had boresight but I wasn't aware of vertical scan, but then we are getting the newer Cyrano IVm on all the 4 variants do that makes sense
  20. Agreed. For me the heading tape on the hud is a very desirable feature. It's always stressful having to go heads down to check your heading as you skimming at treetop level to a new bandit callout. It's frontal visibility looks like it's going to be worse then the F-5, and the MiG 21 (is a bit cluttered up) but still useable. The side and rear visibility looks like it will be a bit better then both. I am really looking forward to the dual 30mm revolver cannons that are very similar to the ones in the Mirage 2000C. I am also looking forward to trying some 5nm R530 shots against high fliers (interested to see how they do)
  21. From doing lots of dogfighting on the cold war server whether the fight is one circle or two is actually largely irrelevant. 90% of fights are not neutral merges, usually then the winner is the person that sees their opponent first, and after that it's who judged the energy state better and set up good geometry and maintained energy till they judged correctly when they needed to cash it in. Also weapon loadouts and even fuel will largely effect any turn fight. In the Mig 21Bis while fat on fuel I can't out horixontal rate a F-86, but once my fuel drops to below 1100 it's a different story.
  22. Just a few kills, (mostly with guns) that I've done flying on Enigma's Cold War server.
  23. So the radar still has a big hit to performance when left on and there is a lot of ground clutter. As in when you fly nape of the earth treetop level and have the radar on the the ground clutter causes frames to drop by 20-30 frames. turning off the radar or locking into C-scope brings the frames back. This only happens if you have a Nvidea drivers later then 442.74. If you have this driver or an earlier one this performance hit doesn't happen, but this driver is almost 2 years old now. Please can we get this fixed.
