So I was hoping to get some clairification on this. In game 100% which accourding to big newy is the "ideal" weight to operate and maintain the life of the aircraft is 11500kg. This however isn't the max takeoff weight, which accourding to sources can be anywhere between 11500kg, and 12500kg. This makes sense because if you take 2 external fuel tanks the aircraft is above 11500kg in weight all fueled up. Oviously these setups would be situations where you would do rolling starts, and in the case of emergancy these stores can be jettesoned to bring the weight back to a safe level. I'm just curious how often this practice of exceeding the 11500kg weight was used? I feel the manual will give us more insight when we get it in full, but if anyone has some idea let me know.

Got to do some PvP multiplayer last night on Alpenwolf's Cold War 1947-1991 server. Fun times!!

Yeah your overtaxing the engines from creating too much tourqe on the blades. Which can happen if you have pulled the collective fully up for long periods of time, and/or done a really abrupt vilolent manuver

It's 350 kph where it happens on the Mi-24

I remember back a year ago on the Mi-24P page, there was a guy debating who was going to really end up buying the Mi-24P when it came out. He argued that it wasn't going to be popular because it didn't have a "proper" role in the scope of DCS and would only be good as a stepping stone to develop the AH-64D.

If playing with Petrovich in multiplayer you need to do this to get flares to work He doesn't turn them on in the cold start. Go into the ASO-2V control section, bind Left Side, Right Side, SetI/II/III, and Pilot Snars. You press your binds for the first 3 when starting to set them up, and the last one release the flare series. Combine with this video, and your set https://youtu.be/FrHCZ0Pxhvg

Yeah was using him on the 80s server yesterday. He's has it quirks finding things at times, which is good, made things difficult because of the amount of IR SAMs and the fact there seems to be a bug with flares in multiplayer. I think it will work really well (good balance) on this server

Also for the ASP-17V sight there is no binding option for auto-manual mode, and Sync-ASync, And for the weapons panel no binding option for the weapon ranging switch auto/manual Not major issues but hopefully we can get these going forward Thanks

UPDATE IS OUT!!
-
Lol when it comes out today, will it be included in a mission sometime later today?
-
I think that would be a little too overpowered, considering you could carry up to at least 4 R60m and also anti-tank missiles if you had just Mi-24s in sufficient numbers they could clear missions possibly a bit too easy. The Mistrel Gazelle is pretty limited in the server because it's quite effective, now add the ability to move faster, and have anit-tank missiles and it's a bit much. Maybe if it could just carry the R60 vanilla but even then I would say only for a mission or 2 at best. and we have the missile vid out just got the Mi-24 Anti-tank missile vid out. Might come out this Wednesday guys

Seeming more likely then it did yesterday, based on the manual that released I'd say quite probable.

Mi-24 guide is out Mi-24P Quick Start Manual EN.pdf

Yeah when I see people say "what are we going to do with the Mi-24P?" and i'm like: There is already a popular multiplayer server where we are salivating to get our hands on it, with a variety of different missions with ground tagets that are already nicely tuned to what the Mi-24P will offer.

Well that's what the ATGM are for to an extent. You can also adjust your attack to catch units by surprise, and also fire a bit further out of optimal range espessially with the S8 rockets. I'm able too take out the units in the Mi-8 covoy mission without to much difficulty if i'm smart about it.

Hind escort scenario. How the Russians would fly this out?
CrazyGman replied to Frag's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Definetly They're refering to the Mi-24D with the older 9M17 Phalanga missiles when they are refering to PALR but you'd just have increased range with the 9k114 Shturms. Still completly viable though with the Mi-24P we are getting -

Well no PEW PEW PEW! vid yet. So if it's being released on the 16th they are going to have to start release the training vids every two days

Ehh depends they had there use. When mercs where fighting with Mi-24s in Seirra Leone they used the S5 rockets the most. Though that was mostly because they had a lot of them compared to the S8 rockets.

When Razbam gets the Falklands map running, and the mi-24 gets R-60m's I'll set up a mission in the Falklands in winter. First i'll defend the base from a pair of F-16 (a couple of bothersome flies) then i'll set up a mission where I have to attack a single soldier armed with only a Stinger. I think it will be a hit.
