Well I guess that expalins why the RAM Usage in the 4ya server I played last night was tapping my newly aquired 64GB of RAM. So I guess it is really not using all 64GB it is just allocated then instead of just full out using all of it? I also thought that if it did use all the RAM when it needed more it would start taxing the Pagefile, is this not the case? I mean I did not see any worse performance it was just that it was showing ram was full but since you say this is fine at what point would you have enough memory, or is there ever really enough?

Well I had installed the additonal RAM today and at first it did not want to boot. so I took of the XMP Profile and manually boosted it too 3200 and it seemed to have booted and was good. I ran OCCT RAM test for an hour and it was fine. I may decide to try and OC it a bit more but right now it is running and I have no issues so far. I left the voltage @1.35v. so for now I can see if there was any benefit to adding more RAM which in 4YA Server I was @41GB so it already was good to have more RAM. I see DCS did not take all of the 64gb ram so I guess it only takes what it needs and not allocating it all like the vRam does in DCS.. But seemed smooth as it should be but having the ram needed by DCS is a good thing, I can almost see where we will be needing 128GB Soon

Hey Salter10, I just tried getting to desktop from DCS I had to press the windows button on my G2 controller and selected desktop and I was able to get to desktop. I had to minimise the game so looking out of headset to see the keys. I was able to get back into the game so maybe they fixed that old kill the game thing.. So you can get to desktop but it it a bit clunky..

Well you can get to desktop in WMR but if you are in a game I think it kills the game.

the syria mission I ran these where appgpu -29ms postgpu - 29ms so I guess it is so high it just does not kick in but my fps are at 35-37 and look pretty smoth and the fps increase when /I take off

How can I lock the FPS at 30 with motion reprojection with OpenXR? I see you can enable it but how do I specify what fps I want to run at I am lost here?

No I don't get you wrong and if I made an error I don't mind it being pointed out. the trk replay sounds like a good idea I will try that. I reran the test with the 452.06 drivers with performance mode and optimal they where real close in performance so much. in Syria maximum performance I got 71-74fps. with Optimal I got 72-73 but it dipped to 69fps for a milisecond a few times so maybe that is where Maximum is a slight bit better in my case..

Well I completely shut off DCS and changed the setting and restarted DCS I did not ALT + TAB out at anytime changing settings.. I was running on my 1080P Monitor and not in VR I can recheck the 452.06 with alt enter to run full screen and see if there is a change? but I have full screen checked in options in DCS but I will recheck..

Well I just found some used RAM that was the same model number of my current RAM, so they should be perfect fit.. I will see if the 32gb boost will help for a total of 64gb of Memory.. I was on the 4YA Server again and I was maxed out on RAM 31.9gb's that is a killer server and it ran pretty good but I am hoping for smoother sailing next week when the ram should get here.. Looks like I lucked out gonna go buy some lotto tickets nowhaha!!

Hey Guys, I was installing and reinstalling various nVidia drivers to see which would work best for me and I thought I would share my findings. This was just a quick test I did mostly just wanted to check the FPS in 2 different scenarios with 2 differnt maps and 3 sets of nVidia drivers. this is no way a thorough test I am just a guy with a desktop LOL!! So here are the results I will first list the drivers I used and I did a DDU uninstall and reinstall of the nVidia drivers. so that was the most extensive bit I did in my test just to make sure they where as clean as I could get.. Plus this is a 1 day old Install of Windows and DCS. nVidia driver 456.71: Syria map: Instant Action Ramp Hot Start FPS = 71-72 Caucasus: Instant Action Runway Hot Start = 79-81 ------------------------------------------------------------------- nVidia driver 512.15 Syria: IARHS FPS = 70-72 Caucasus: IARHS FPS = 75-77 --------------------------------------------------------------------- nVidia driver 452.06 Syria: IARHS FPS = 66-67 Caucasus: IARHS FPS = 74-75 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nVidia driver 452.06 ---- I changed 1 settings in nVidia Control Panel: 1. Power managemnt mode = Prefer max Performance. Syria: IARHS FPS = 61-62 Caucasus: IARHS FPS = 70-71 I also changed the performance level in the 512.15 drivers and as with the 452.06 I had worse performance then if I left the settings at their default.. Being not too sure what to conclude here but from the numbers for myself it was best with an older set of drivers and Defauly settings in the nVidia Control Panel.. Maybe we could check and see when the 2xxx series came out and which driver it was. and maybe try the last set of 10series drivers to try out. but I really just did this as a quick test to see what would happen.. Wierd, how I thought setting to max performance really would have helped but in my experiment it was the opposite.. I do know it makes the card run Full out all the time and I found optimal is the same but when I am not using the video card in a game or whatnot the clock speeds declock which is good on the electric bill LOL!! This was just a quick experiment and by no means an exhaustive one so please remember YMMV and I only have a 1070GTX so newer drivers would be negligible for me, but if you have a 3xxx series card newer could be better in your case. I would say maybe experiment with the max performance setting as it really made the FPS worse in my instance.. You can try a few yourself depending on which card you have I would not just default to the latest and greatest is not always the case..

Well I see most of you all have said it would be a benefit to have more RAM. But I was pricing some RAM last night and it was over 200USD for 64GB Ouch my pockets are not that deep but I played a MP Mission last night and was getting near 31GB RAM Usage in the mission.. I tried another MP Mission and it got around 25gb usage, what I am wondering ifI did get more Ram would the usage go up or use more if I had more RAM or the System would only use the RAM It needs and not cache out?

Hey Andre, I guess that is why it does not work then? is there a reasone the SB Z does not support mono mode if not known no big deal was just curious as to why that is so.. Also what 5.1 sound card would you reccomend if I wanted to try another soundcard? Will any new Sound Blasster work like the AE5?? Thank you very much for the responce.

Hey guys, I am using the Beta version 2.26 Simshaker the issue I am having and it happens on release as well is that I cannot select my soundcard (SoundBlasterZ) in mono mode in the select dedicated sound card tab, it restarts SS but when it comes back on the line is blank. Not sure but shouldn't I be able to select my sound card there and have it stay, what would make it not be selected.. I can select the Stereo mode but then I get a ticking sound in the headset especially when in the apache.. I am on Windows 10 64bit fresh install as of the 4-15-2022, I use a soundblaster driver version 3.4.98.00 which is the lates for the soundBlaster Z. I had this problem for sometime now just wanted to see if I can get it working or if it is a bug or something. Been using Simshaker with DCS so no other sims involved..

I tried and for the life of me unable to see if it is working or not. I figured it would be night and day but IDK looks the same to me. and I followed the video to the T I even Downloaded the file someone uploaded here.. Would of loved it, if it worked for me. I am a big fan of 3D..
