OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
The_Nephilim replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
umm not to knit pick but why are you using SteamVR?? I wanted to say that when I start OpenXR and launch DCS it starts in the headset and then goes to desktop twice but the thing is the 2nd time it relaunches the OpenXR triangles appearing and dissappearing the sound gets set REAL loud and I try turning it down but every time I launch DCS it resets the sound to loud, I had to mute that in the mixer it is really bad.. But other then that I am so happy this worked for me, I think others need to read the Entire OP again as I think most miss the important info..like stated in the OP.. -

The_Nephilim replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello all, I installed Simshaker for Aviators v 2.3.10 beta and I get an error about the jetseat. I do not have the jetseat and I will try and copy the error message next time I see it but is there a way to get rid of the error message about the jetseat? -

Hey Guys, I found out about this mod this afternoon and gave it a shot. I first did a deep clean like reccomended in Step one. I Downloaded the files I needed then installed them to the Bin Folder. Now at first It looked awesome but was getting about 28fps. I then was reading more and noticed I have to adjust the Resolution in Open XR and I had it at 100% which for my GPU is a no go.. EDIT: Well I had reran the game and was getting 55fps, so I then added some resolution in OpenXR to 30% and raised up the graphics setting a bit and now get a steady 45-50fps in Open XR and never looked better.. Thank you to all who made Open XR Happen.. I am using a lowly 1070GTX and 30% rez with mostly low settings.. It really worked out for me.. -
Well I have a USB-C Port that I will try using and see what happens.. I did have a rosewill USB-C PCIe card but that did not seem to work? I will look at it later right now I have it plugged into the motherboard usb-c port to test it out as you are right the usb-c is a bit faster.. I thought the USB 3.0 was as fast guess I was wrong.. Thnx for the heads up..

Hi Hammer1-1, the Reverb G2 has a Display port connection. and the usb is a C but HP gives you a C-to USB3.0 adapter and I use the 3.0 port on a PCIe USB card.. I was wondering if I should flush my Memory with that program someone linked a few years ago when DCS had that Memory leak real bad.. Other then my video card being not to good for VR and there is not a thing I can do about it for the mean time as no money available for PC stuff.. which sucks so I am hoping some refinements for the apache happen soon.. but it runs some what barely but I am sure it will get better..
-
I have tried most of the suggestions and none helped at all for me
-
look under HOCAS in the controls profile for Apache.. it is mostly all in there. the thing I am having issues with is getting the Center Display to slew in the CP/G seat..

Hey Guys, I am having issues in my Reverb G2. I am on a fresh install of Win10 updated all win10 updates as of 3-18-2022. I just DDU wiped my older drivers I was using and installed fresh 511.79 nVidia drivers which was worse then the older drivers I was using but just wanted to rule that out. my specs are in my sig but a pretty decent system save my GPU which is only a 1070GTX. I am on the lowest settings in DCS and mopved my Preload Radius to 75K which helped a little. I took some shots of my settings if anything is missing Please let me know what you need. I was playing the Instant action mission Hot Pit takeoff in Syria. here is my fpsVR log saves: fpsVR Report: App: DCS HMD: HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset G20 (90.001 Hz, IPD 65.7) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (30.0.15.1179, Tavg 55.1, Tmax 64) CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz (Tavg 48.2, Tmax 70) Delivered fps: 21.59 Duration: 4.1min. (HMD driver recommended: 3151x3083) this report took about 60minutes to gather including swapping nVidia drivers and getting screensnips.. hopefully will motivate others to do the same. and If you need any other info Please let me know what you would like to see besides my bank account numbers.. dcs.log

Well I contacted Thrustmaster support they only wanted my first born and both arms and legs what a crock.. so they are no help as they wanted my address, phone number and proof of purchase and some other BS.. I reinstalled Windows 10 yet again and did not install Foxy this time I ran Target and I still get the error in Device analyzer.. at this point it really not is that important .. Guess I will just live with it not working anymore..
-
Well I had set Win updates for other microsoft products and it did update 2 C++ files but I still get that nagging error. I was wondering could it have been the recent Win 10 updates as there where quite a few of them.. Other then windows update I had alway been able to get the Device analyser working after a fresh install. I am thinking it is a Win 10 issue at this point as I have tried everything else.. Well if anybody has any ideas I am sure to try them.. Thank you.

Well I usually just ended up reinstalling Windows and all but I just did that twice in a week. I am thinking it could be hardware related but what would cause that besides the HOTAS? I have the Cougar plugged into a powered USB hub and I moved the plug back to a 2.0usb port on the motherboard. It seems to be tight but maybe the hub I have is bad? I only have the 1 Cougar which was a barely used by the 1st owner as it broke some weeks after he bought it and decided to just sell it. so it is basically new old stock.. I have the 2 Thrustmaster MFD's connected to the hub along with the mouse. I just unplugged a device from the HUB and the MFD's went out Maybe the hub is defective.. I will see if I can find a better hub for my setup I will also check the power plug maybe it is disconnected? Thank you for the responce.. EDIT: I reinstalled Windows and moved the usb from the cougar to the front USB on my PC I still get the target device analyzer error.. could it be anything else other then maybe the joystick?

hey everybody, I am getting an error in Device analyzer when I try to start it. now in the past I just uninstalled and reinstalled TARGET and it most times fixes it but this time I keep getting this annoying error. I tried using v 3.0.18 and the latest 3.0.21 of TARGET. I am using a Thrustmaster Cougar and target for HomeFries Profile. I am on a Fresh install of Win 10 and updated to latest updates and all. I would like to find a fix for this as sometimes it happens and other times it does not when installing. Specs are in Sig..

Well to be sure I think you need the controllers to set it up. I have a G@ and see no way to get past the setup without the controllers. you may not need them for DCS but during the setup of the G2 they are required. I would NOT personnely buy them without the controllers..
-
well if you plan on buying from a scalper I say nay on the card it only supports this BS.. not helpfull for users lower on the ladder
-
well I had a Rift S and used SteamVR with a shortcut paramater to get it working.. I am unsure but I don't think DCS will run on the Oculus stuff without using SteamVR?? and I forget the augment to put in the shortcut to force Steam VR to run..

GPU accelerated graphics in windows 10
The_Nephilim replied to mosqui's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well I would say monitor your Frametimes as the GPU scheduling seemed to affect that the most.. I had worse Frametimes when I had those enabled in DCS but was better in Elite Dangerous.. -
GPU accelerated graphics in windows 10
The_Nephilim replied to mosqui's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well I tested it myself and I am unsure what to think. but by looking at the fpsVR numbers it seemed worse but by eye it seemed better smoother?? would love to see more serious results as I just did it quick and dirty plus I use VR so not sure if that made it worse or better? -
GPU accelerated graphics in windows 10
The_Nephilim replied to mosqui's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well I have seen people say it works and I have seen people say it does not work.. This could be a chance to test it yourself and see if it has any benefit. Honestly I have no idea what it is supposed to do but I think it it supposed to prioritise that game exe over other things in Windows. I mean in theory it sounds like if not even an benefit that it works just maybe it is all under the hood works.. I would like to hear from someone who has tried it with DCS or knowledge of what it is supposed to do instead of hearsay.. -
Is it just me or is VR unflyable now (again)?
The_Nephilim replied to Jarhead_SGT's topic in Virtual Reality
Well you left out alot of important info like what rez are you running and do you use more the 1.0 PD. what settings do you have in DCS. I have a 1070GTX anbd use 20% Rez in SteamVR and lowest settings and I can maintain motion vector 45fps with my setup.. if you are getting Crashes it could be an unstable OC and such. Your PC and others may be stable with other games but DCS is not tother games and I seen the slighest unstable system CTD and such in DCS at the slightest hint of trouble.. and when I mean unstable that usually means either too high an OC or your CPU voltage needs a slight bump.. Did you attqach your DCS Logs here maybe they have an indication as to what is causing your issues.. -
Well I would double check your OC CPU or GPU. try running them at either stock speeds for the CPU and maybe underclock the GPU. the slightest unstable system with DCS will cause issues NOT seen in other games and such..
