  1. yes try OpenXR/Opencomposite..
  2. maybe try to reflash it, if you do dont forget to unplug your throttle before flashing..
  3. if you guys are using Steam and Steam VR got into the Steam VR options and look for where it will Fade to grid on app pause..
  4. yes it is I was very surprised. I hope I can get it soon..
  5. Yes check on both of thos as always. I also made sure HAGS was disabled.. I think as I was experimenting with the res lower thingie in the toolkit for OPEN XR and I noticed when my Frametimes where below 21 in both CPU and GPU the stutters were less then normal so I think If I can get those a bit lower it might help a bit more.. When the Frametime are at say like 26 it is very choppy.. besides new GPU what could help with lowering Frametimes..? a new pc is out but I might get an upgrade to a 1080ti.. best I can do right now.
  6. well it is not horse hockey as you say just be glad you are good but some are not. I know performance is a bit worse in the apache then say the Viggen or F16.. all the modules start out with bad FPS and such they get better with time..
  7. OK will do. thnx EDIT: Well I just was flying in the apache and I had the USB drive switched off and it still was micro stutters. I tried using the res reduction thing and it did not seem to help either. IF you need more logs or similar just let me know.
  8. well if it has inside/out tracking it could just get lost. sometime my G2 just shifts ingame with me not moving..
  9. AllocatedBaseSize=32768 CurrentUsage=0 Description=C:\pagefile.sys InstallDate=20221125211852.604729-300 Name=C:\pagefile.sys PeakUsage=1 Status= TempPageFile=FALSE The Pagefile is on my M.2 SSD c:/
  10. no it is not a razer, I have a utech venus mmo gaming mouse. I did install the software and tried changing the polling rate but it did not seem to have an effect.. here are my DCS logs and dxdiag. thnx again. dcs.log DxDiag.txt
  11. What does it mean airflow case is that the model of it or something.. I put mine up on a coffee table to eliminate dust and dirt from the floor. if you have pets keep it up but maybe not gonna help if you have roaming cats..
  12. Yes just join a public server there are quite a few good ones and the best part neither of you will need to worry about forwarding any ports as only a host server needs to do that not a client..
  13. Yes I have seen that mentioned a couple times but did not know to try and unplug it.. I did unplug it and it seemed to have helped a little but micro stutters still seem to be there.. IS there anything else I could try that you are aware of? thank you for the help EDIT: I had set my Pagefile to 32768-32768, I have set graphics to lowest except Textures they are on medium and I get about 5-5.6gb Vram usage.. I use OpenXR. I have a Reverb G2 headset. I had it smooth in 2.7 but it seemed to have gotten worse again in 2.8. I will continue to tweak..
  14. I dont use the adrenalin stuff and I dont have the F18 installed, is that a setting in DCS? I fly the apache and F16. I will try unplugging the mouse, would a different mouse do anything or just unplug it?
  15. Hi Flappie, I had tried this method and when I went to restart Windows I was not able to start Mixed Reality Portal?. The best I could do was clean boot my PC and I was still getting microstutters looking left and right. I read through this thread and some pretty clever fixes. I will try the power option fix.. I will report back Thank you Nephilim'
  16. Well poor performace is very subjective, some more info could help us help you like what are your system specs and VR are you using? With DCS it needs a bit of TLC to get right. most people just max all the settings and use 1.5times the resolution and complain about poor performance.. well while that is true and you may get better framess and such in other games but this is not those games and a little more TLC is needed to care for this Beauty..
  17. maybe the Varjo Aero. but it is all relative. Pimax 8kX are pretty good as well but Pimax has new ones comming soon. but need a HIGH End PC.
  18. Well it would be best to get a new headset. the Odyssey was a good headset at the time but to kind of defeat Screen door effect the smoothed the image and what you see is what that makes it look like. not the most clear but SDE Was remeoved a bit.. What games do you play besides DCS? your system may need an upgrade along with the headset.. I use a 10700K CPU OC to 5ghz and a 1070 and I need to run the Reverb G2 at 35% resolution.. it still looks better then the odyssey + that I had. Even if I got a new GPU it would help with DCS only a little bit I guess.. just dont have the money to splurge right now.. heck I would probally be happy with a 2080ti..
  19. Who is your ISP and what makes you think you can not portforward. A Public IP is fine. does your ISP Block Port Forwarding?
  20. Hey guys, I was gonna make up a big write up of all the settings and what they do and how much cycles each took up. but since I am in the middle of a move I will just start with the VRam observations. Sorry no screenshots but I did see clearly what was going on with the first two settings in the options menu. Textures and Terrain Textures. Now I set all my settings to their lowest setting and ran the T-51 Take of from Batumi Hot start as a base line. With Textures on LOW, my FPS I was getting was 42FPS and the VRam usage was 4.0GB. I then tried the Medium Texture setting and I was getting 41-42 FPS and vRam usage was 4.5GB. now I set it on High and was getting 40-41 FPS and Vram usage jumped to 5.8. OK now lets see what it does with another module so I tried what I think is the worst module as far as performance hog that I have was the Apache. So again VRam usage as follows: LOW Textures 4.9GB...... Medium 5.7GB and High setting a wopping 8GB Vram usage.. OK now there is quite the variance on each module and from what I was gathering it was module and Setting dependent. And the other thing with the settings is on LOW any writing on the panels in the T51 were blurry and I could not read them. the gauges looked fine just the print on the HUD was blurry. So I tried Medium and the print was readable and I could easily make out what it said that whilst on a Low setting was blurry and I was still in a good space with my VRam usage @4.5GB. Now at the high setting it might have been a tad more clearer but barely noticable except for the fact it used alot more vRam for little to no gain in either performance or looks.. So I would say if you have a GPU with ONLY 8GB you need to be a little stingy with this setting as to not go over in VRam which was at the High setting 5.8GB but remeber all the other settings were Zeroed out and on their lowest setting. so I could easily use up the remaining 2 or so GB or Vram with some other settings that were vRam dependent like Terrain Textures.. And in the Apache I easily maxed out my vRam and things got to stutter real quick.. so my observation is if you have a 8GB Vram GPU keep this setting on Medium.. Now I was messing with the Terrian Textures which has a setting of Low and High. Whilst I tried to see the differenece it was ever so slight in the maps I tested Syria and Caucasus. Now with this setting I noticed a slight bump to the Vram usage like .2 points. on Low I got 3.4GB and on High it was 3.6GB. So if you want to save a little Vram and there is not much of a difference from what I saw leave it on low.. I stopped there but I would imagine if I tried the apache again in Syria it probally would have been much higher so it needs further testing for usage and difference in settings. I got my VRam usage from Open XR Tool kit the latest version which had this setting amongst other new settings.. What we can conclude with DCS as I am sure someone else has probally had this observation it takes a little bit of patience and testing to determine the total usage of Vram and such. I know if I put that setting on High and go into a MP server like 80's cold war server that Vram with the Textures on High hit 8.4GB Easily and that was with all my other settings where I had them at. Now the good thing about the settings is if you dont know what piece of hardware it will effect hold the mouse cursor over said setting and a ballon notification shows up and gives a little bit more info about each setting.. Nowing that and experience in Options menu setting from experience you casn find a happy medium or just cut to the bleeding edge of available hardware usage and such. So if you are just buying a new vid card perhaps 24GB and 16GB Vram users need not be too concerned about setting everything on High you will need to do some testing especially if you are in VR and have 8GB Vram on your GPU or even less. but 6GB VRTam would proablly be minimum.. I dont have much more to add and I hope this was a bit informative and helpfull. If you have any question Please feel free to tell me your concerns or questions..
  21. well if it is CPU bound does that mean it is all the CPU Fault? IF you got that CPU the Ryzen, it may help with the cpu bound issue and push the vid card a bit better.. I have the same CPU 10700K @5GHZ and still get the CPU bound in clean missions.. but I only have a 1070GTX.. to what degree of FPS you will gain I am unsure. I seen some threads for benchmarks and such maybe some had the combo you seek to get your answer there.. Are you using VR? if so which one and your graphics settings do you fly with? Online Offline?
  22. yes that windows is mainly for the developers I think, and I have never seen much on it here or even talked about so who knows.. As for the new Frametime window if you put your mouse cursor in the window a legend of sorts show up and you can see what the different color lines represent.. If you have VR the readout in OpenXR Toolkit has a VRam readout as well as the Frametimes and such..
  23. well I did a fast and dirty test and then DDU the old drivers and installed the ones reccomended here and got a 2FPS boost..
  24. Well I am not worrying about getting the highest settings. I look at it this way I am currently running a 1070 which ranks like 69th in GPUs the 2080ti ranks 13th speed wise out of all the cards.. I am imaging with the 2080ti I could at least increase the resolution. I am not worring about cranking the other settings that dont do much as far as the overall looks of the game increasing the resolution I use on the G2 is the utmost importance. I am looking to at least run in the 50%res mode or a little higher.. Right now I am @35% and it looks about the least I would want to set it too much lower and the mfd's are unreadable even in the apache. of course unless I zoom in and sometimes it is not possible to zoom and type.. So I was just hoping someone still used a 2080ti with the G2 and could tell me what kind of FPS they get or if they could test it @ 50% with the lowest settings in DCS.. I am pretty confident it will be a boost how much and would it be worth the 400USD I would have to spend.. I know get a better GPU but right now even spending 400 usd is gonna be a bit of a trick as I am in the middle of a move and money is super tight.. Maybe I should tough it out a little longer and see if I can nab a 3090 or even a 3080ti.. but money is tight and why spend twice the price for only minimal gains. I am just trying to guage where I will be as I know if I still only got 40-45fps in game with Open XR that would be fine as the minnimum I can stand is 35fps..
