  1. Well I would double check your OC CPU or GPU. try running them at either stock speeds for the CPU and maybe underclock the GPU. the slightest unstable system with DCS will cause issues NOT seen in other games and such..
  2. Your Welcome hope it works out for you.. as for the MFD's I like them but once I got VR did not use them as much but if you fly the A10C or F16 heck even the F18 could use them they are pretty neat. and if you use a monitor you could always get those little monitors to use as a real MFD of sorts.. So if you are a fan of DCS and getting the MFD's are pretty cool in a way especially if you like having flight gear on your desktop..
  3. Well it has been over a decade since I used a KVM switch but running either PC I never experienced and lag per say. Not sure but does Startech have any KVM Switches? I would reccomend a Powered USB hub but make sure you have enough amps for the ports you have on the hub.. So basically you figure .5 amps per usb plug so if it is a 6 port Hub make sure the amps on the power pack is near 3 amps.. usually they use less but .5 should even it out.. if you have USB DEview you can see the power draw on your USB Devices to figure power needs..
  4. you said a BIOS update might have done this? if so can you revert the BIOS version? also is the M.2 in a hyper M.2 slot?
  5. well depending on your settings for the Q2 and DCS you should be getting better than that I would imagine. Are you using the cable or wireless? what is your Super sampling settings? there are tons of settings in the quest I would advise you do as TZeer said and do a search you might find some good info on tuning your Q2..
  6. try this you can load it from memory on the faulty PC and see if you can see the drive: https://www.hirensbootcd.org/
  7. Hey Man you are Welcome, hope you enjoy it..
  8. Well I had this issue happen when I switched to Win 10 some years back. IF unplugging the USB and plugging it back in does not work, one possible thing to try is to Reflash the Stick.. Now if you do not know how to do this PLEASE DONT DO THIS. But basically you unplug the USB stick then remove the throttle from the sick, WARNING!!!!! if You Flash the stick with the Throttle plugged in you will brick the Throttle.. Now I always have issues when flashing the stick it just takes some patience and several tries.. I know you can flash the stick through Foxy and there is another trick where you unplug the stick, then while unplugged hold the trigger button down and plug it back in then release it should bring up the flash menu, or something like that.. there are old guides out there on how this is done but as long as you unplug the throttle from the stick you should be good.. But be warned I never tried it on Win 11 so who knows what will happen??
  9. Well that is ok I just sold it .. Hope you find what you are looking for..
  10. Well it is the G2 v1, I think the v2 come with the new cable which I have. this does include controllers 2 with the HMD. there are the extras too like the PCIe USB 3.0 card, headstrap and earmuffs.. So this is ready to play nothing is needed it is all here well all but the batteries you need 4 AA..
  11. Hey Guys, all gone thnx for looking..
  12. well, believe it or not I play DCS @ 1544x1512 which comes out to 24% on a G2.. I could go higher but I mostly play online and that gives me the best balance. my specs are in the sig and of course it does not look as good as it could but to my eyes it looks ok. with the MSAA x2 and most others settings on low that is about the best to keep Motion reprojection on @45fps. Now If I crank up the rez it looks stunning and very sharp, the way it is now the image looks a little softer but the msaax2 helps it a bit.. Now I dont see any SDE and the last headsets I had where a Rift s and Odyssey +, so coming from those headsets it seems a bit of an improvement. Since getting a newer card even an 2xxx series it out of the question I just have to live with what I see and like I said to me it don't look bad. after a while in VR you just stop looking for the flaws and just fly the mission.. it is all relative but I am used to playing lower rez, I did have a DLP Projector setup and it only was at 1280 x 720 but I used 3D Vision with it which helped it look higher then it was.. now I would love to get a 3080 and crank up the rez but the way it is right now that is not gonna happen this year as well.. so hopefully DSC Stays where it is at or goes to Vulkan and I can get better FPS or at the very least keep what I have. If you on a CV1 the improvement even if you only went to 25% of the G2 would probally be an improvement as there is no SDE..
  13. well a rotary knob can work as rudders also you should be able to put a curve and such on it.
  14. Yes I am unsure what to tell you. I had the Rift S and it was a decent headset while the Quest 2 is a higher rez the Link cable that is not a dedicated Displayport type connectr rulled out the Q2 for me.. If your not real tech savvy I would just say stick with the Rift or get a Reverb G2. but it is require some tweaking to get it optimal.. What are the specs of your PC..
  15. well I for one would love to hear what you learned?? seems like that would be counterproductive but you are saying it works butter smooth with those settings?
  16. Well in this case since it is not just DCS Lagging I would contact Quest 2 support and ask them or their Forums.. I can possible help is the cable a cheap copy or the actual link cable or is it a capable cable.. What about the resolution do you run?
  17. well try this disconnect the cables to the PC from the G2 ,goto Start, settings, mixed reality and uninstall the WMR. then try reinstalling it. I had a similar issue with my G2 when I got the new cable and that seemed to have fixed it.. I would say the DP are fine it is just the G2 being problematic. Oh by the way you did switch on, the Power supply on the G2 cable as it has a power button on the power supply now? EDIT: I just reread your post have you tried some of the other DP Plugs in the GPU?
  18. are you using the link cable or wireless? if the latter that could be the issue.. if you are wired try turning down the resolution and graphics settings a tad..
  19. OK I watched the video he is referring to NIS, you have to run a lower rez and then NIS scales it up a bit. I tried those things in the past I never liked going to lower rez then scaling it up..
  20. Well I had given it a go and it did not go very good, while it was cool learning new techniques for linux. plus the they did not have much support for VR Devices, especially the WMR H?MD's which since it was windows based is no surprise there. I think the idea of it is good I am just probally so used to how windows works it is gonna be hard to adapt to Linux.. I found out you can install older software on top of the newer ones and that can cause all sorts of havok upon the OS you currently have. I had installed it and was messing with some older files for my Sound card it got to the point it was just easier to start fresh with my install of Linux, I used Ubuntu 20.4.3. I did like the quickeness and DL seemed to been lightning fast more so then with Windows.. I was even willing to forgo the Thrustmaster drivers to the point where I was just hoping they worked and would have just programmed each game and plane individually. but I did not get that far. my entire goal was to see if there was support for the VR WMR Headset my Reverb G2 which there was none. I did find there are some hopefuly programs for VR Support but it was mostly older models like Rift 1. Once I got Ubuntu Installed on my drive I was working with getting the Sound card and more importantly my Buttkicker. Well after much searching and tweaking I found a solution to get the buttkicker working and surround sound was supported to a degree. I found a program that was a GUI Interface to controls for Sound module. I forget what the driver was called and the GUI Interface but it is mostly all there you just need to find it.. Best way to describe Ubuntu 20.4.3, it did have some stuff already there and most other stuff needed either Wine for Windows stuff and Proton for Steam stuff. I was able with Wine to install some Windows programs and have them fully functional. to what point I did not find out as once I found out support for the WMR headset was non existant I threw in the towel as I really do not want to game without my VR Headset just yet. If I kept my Rift S which there was some support for it I might have kept at it and I also thing there was support for Quest 2 which I don't have and was not gonna buy just for Linux.. I really wanted it to work as with most of you guys I am sick Of Windows and there shady way of doing things. I just need an OS to be an OS not a Data miner. Really sucks as Meta Data is the new oil and gonna get worse but I digress.. I think there is a bright future for Linux in General and if they ever manage to get support for my G2 I would hop right back in even tho they have a funny way of installing stuff and all, it is a little quirky but cool in a way once you learn some basics about Linux.. there are alot of resources for Linux like what driver or such I need to do so and so task in Linux but I think there is too mucch out there even older outdated info gbut good there is so much.. I think they have some reccomended sites but you can go down rabbit holes real quick..
  21. Well if you wear glasses and are near sighted you should get the prescription Lenses. if you are Farsighted you should not need them. All I really know is I am nearsighted and need the prescription lenses.
  22. Shadows, view distance.... I, don't remember the settings in OTT. I had a rift some months back but bought a G2..
  23. Well with VR Most things are subjective, I can tell you what I have setup on my PC but if you followed suite it may or may not be too your liking.. There are some guidelines to follow. Best thing to do is just setup to in DCS your desired settings and Resolution in VR and try it.. I would definetely advise on the Quest 2 to always use the cable in DCS.. The resolution is not really high so just try defqault res and see how it goes. The key to VR is Patience and some tweaking according to the end user likes.. What setting I like others may say nay to that I like mine high.. so it is very subjective there is no magic setting to say set it like so.. Experiment and be patient with the Process. DCS and VR is not plug and play. once you get it too your liking it may take a few hours ar many hours but try not to over think it..
  24. 2 things are needed Patience is first and a really good system..
