  1. The core of this problem is: ED and 3rd parties systems are not compatible/unified. It should work like that: some 3rd party or ED developed some particular system - all other developers and ED are free to use it. This would make everything more compatible and modules faster to develop. Plus less unexpected bugs after patch.
  2. That's the problem - according to him you don't feel much since AH-1Z doesn't even have cyclic stick. If i understood him correctly, instead it has short electronic joystick, like F-16, placed on the right panel, which you use to tell the helicopter what you want to do and it is not even connected to the rotor. Its all 100% computer controlled. To be honest if i would have Cobra in DCS i would like some pure variant with classic helicopter collective and cyclic. It's a small nimble helicopter, it would be fun to fly. I'm afraid super modern Z variant would be like Apache D with different flavour and without radar. Does it even have any combat history?
  3. It works awesome in DCS. It this app works with IL-2 as well?
  4. Isn't AH-1Z variant totally classified and impossible to be made for DCS, without the slightest chance Bell Helicopter signing the lisense or revealing it's avionics and systems details? USMC declared that the AH-1Z had attained combat readiness just at the end of 2010. Some time ago i've heard an interview with AH-1 pilot, he flown W and Z variants and he stated something like AH-1W was far more fun to fly as Z was fully computerized flight control. But overall every Cobra from AH-1G to AH-1W should be possible to make in a realistic way.
  5. Yes, Israeli bought 75 F-16A Block 10 in 1978 and used them with great success in air combat shooting down MiGs with guns and Sidewinders. The same Block 10s were used for ground attacks as well, including attack on Osirak Baghdad nuclear reactor installation in 1981.
  6. Block 10 still had original small tail optimised for maneuvering. Block 10 was the variant which achieved some 2/3 of all F-16 air kills ever.
  7. It would be nice, it was relevant important aircraft and it was used during Vietnam war as well. I guess first ED will overhaul original F-5E and then maybe F-5A can be made.
  8. Middle East it the most represented region in DCS. We have Persian Gulf/Hormuz Strait and Syria with Cyprus and north Israel. Sinai Peninsula map and possibly Afganistan are coming. Only Iraq, arguably the most relevant, is missing. Is it possible to merge a few already big and demanding maps into one even bigger without sacrificing FPS? Probably not. I guess we need to wait for multithreading and Vulcan implementation, but who knows.
  9. At this moment i would say our best bet may be RAZBAM making fighter Eagle F-15A or C after they successfully finish Strike Eagle. But who knows what's going on behind the scenes.
  10. On Mi-24 wipers already wipe the rain off from the front canopy. I assume Mi-24 is a "testbed" of technology. It is good enough and i hope we will see it on Apache as well, in a near future.

  13. Both pilots and jamming looks awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on them.
  14. Early F-16A were whole lot lighter, Block 1-10 weighted 7 tons empty, about 2 tons lighter empty weight than our late Block 50. And maneuverability is more about wing loading, not T/W. F-104 Starfighter had fantastic T/W for its time with big wing loading and that's why, regardless of its T/W, it had terrible maneuverability. And all F-16C were nose heavy carrying much heavier (and also much more capable) APG-68 radar and other avionics. Another thing is F-16A could fight on full afterburner way longer than fuel hungry GE engine later variants which had to use it to compensate for mass increase. Real pilots flying them:
  15. Original "B" would be great, it entered service in 1961, together with all other faster/higher generation of fighters like F-104, F-106 MiG-21, J-35, Mirage III.
  16. It looks like F-4's flight control system was quite complex for an aircraft which entered service in 1961, i guess it's a challenging task to code all of that.

Oh, now i know. Yes, that would be awesome in DCS.

Isn't Tomcat to receive pilots in cockpit in the very next patch? Maybe it would be beter ask him to make a pilot mod for some other aircraft without pilot on a horizon, like F-5E or Mi-24?
  21. It is whole lot better to model slightly earlier radar win reasonebly realistic way, that modern as totally unrealistic and made up, having nothing to do with real counterpart.
  22. One thing to add, when it comes to the title: simple rudimentary Cold War IR sensors on aircrafts like F-101 Voodo, F-102 Delta Dagger, F-106 Delta Dart, J-35 Draken, MiG-23M, MiG-25PD, F-8 Crusader, F-4B Phantom, F-14A Tomcat, MiG-29A, Su-27S etc. - had totally different capabilities compared to PIRATE FLIR/IRST used by Italian, Spanish and British Eurofighters. PIRATE works similar to radar, capable of detecting and tracking multiple targets with incomparably greater range due to sensitivity order of magnitude greater compared to Cold War IR systems and big advances in computer technology. It works like TWS tracking some 500 targets at once computing their positions, coupled with helmet sight, possibly identifying them etc. Details are obviously strictly classified.
  23. Thanks, this older videos were both accessible and informative at the same time. Many newer ones are often either extremally scientific or needlessly sensational for total amateurs without any knowledge.
  24. A-7 Corsair, it's well into the developement with many milestones reached when A-6 is waiting in line for its time when HB is focused on finishing F-14, Viggen, releasing F-4 and helping TrueGrit with Eurofighter.
  25. Pilot's body looks awesome, fingers crossed for the update!
