  1. Not really... the USAF did the same thing with it's air to air tankers in Churchill, Manitoba during the cold war.
  2. Thanks SKF Here's the link... http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1245768&size=L&width=1024&height=695&sok=JURER%20%20%28nvepensg_trarevp%20%3D%20%27Obrvat%20737-100%27%20BE%20nvepensg_trarevp%20%3D%20%27Obrvat%20737-200%20%28G-43%29%27%29%20NAQ%20%28nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Pnanqvna%20Abegu%25%27%29%20%20BEQRE%20OL%20cubgb_vq%20QRFP&photo_nr=3
  3. I would like to see the 737-200 model painted like the photo I posted if possible.
  4. Here's a livery for ya... the plane I fly... Would be great to see it on your very nice model!
  5. One of the main reasons Canada chose the F/A-18 over the F-16 was the fact the -18 has 2 engines. Engine failures during peace time will not cause the 2nd engine to shut down and with the exception of the US, it is peace time around the world when it comes to fighter and bomber aircraft. Losing a 2nd engine due to battle damage from the first can happen but again, what twin engine fighters are at risk or will be at risk now or in the future?
  6. Do some of you guys actually read what you have posted?? You talk like you were involved in the design and production of the jets and weapons you are referring to. As joe blow public you might know 30% yet you post like you know 100% of the inforamtion. How can you say 1 engine on the F-16 is better then 2 on a Flanker? Venezuela is mountianous... 2 engines is a much safer choice and always will be over a jet with one in that type of terrain. Pilots don't eject when they lose an engine on a twin... what kind of nonsense is that? Congrat's to Venezuela on getting some new Flankers... most of the rest of this thread is utter crap and enough with the politics... I'm sure the Venezuelan government knows enough information to make the right decision for it's needs.
  7. At what price does all that come to? I still use a TM FLCS/TQS with digital chips and have never even thought of getting a Cougar or any other stick. My 8 year old HOTAS works still like a dream. Congrat's on the new HOTAS Rich!
  8. Hi Leafer, All is well and I'm really enjoying being a Dad but between work, which I'm flying maximum days per month, and this new little guy in our life, I haven't had much time for anything else. Cheers! Andrew... where and what job did you get?
  9. Tailwind take offs increase the take off ground roll and overall take off distance and, depending on the amount of tailwind, don't provide as good of a climb immediately after take off. The limit for most aircraft is about 10 knots tailwind for take off and landing.
  10. New models of the M1A2 and BTR-80 as well as continued development in the aircraft systems including an APU that is used to air start the main engines. Also added are engine cut off valves and a rotor brake.
  11. That T-72 is stunning and wait till you see the new M1A2 in Black Shark!!
  12. AP rounds ricochet... I think the need for Black Shark info should be well taken care for a long time now. :)
  13. It's most likely a graphics card issue.
  14. Shudder! ;) Also... you will be able to change your loadout once you have landed at a FARP or base without having to exit the game so mission and task flexibility will be there in game.
  15. Class A includes the base of all high level controlled airspace up to 60,000 feet in Canada and the US. The base is 18,000 feet in southern domestic, 23,000 feet in northern domestic, and 27,000 feet in the arctic control zone.
  16. Actually... FL's are used anytime you are in the standard altimeter setting zone, 29.92 inches of mercury. In north American southern domestic airspace the transition is at 18,000 feet. Up in the northern and arctic airspace it is at lower altitudes, above 1,500 feet, unless you are departing or arriving which is when you set the field altimeter. So, bombing around in the arctic in cruise you could be flying at FL050 or 5000 feet or FL250, 25,000 feet. In other parts of the world, the transition altitude varies from down as low as FL040 or FL050.
  17. Yes... you can program a new route with both the PVI-800 Navigation computer by entering Lat and Longs and have course guidance on the HUD or you can use the ABRIS to plot a new route on the moving map display. FYI... the English ABRIS pilot manual weighs in at 72 pages so far to give you an idea of the planned depth of that unit for Black Shark
  18. The Almaz system does not give voice threat warnings... it's an on board systems monitor.
  19. Thanks for doing the work Wolverine!! Mark... no problem on integrating the mod into yours. Cheers
  20. Among other things... building a Kamov Ka-50 from the ground up system by system with as much detail as they can for you to enjoy.
  21. I think something like about 45 voice messages are in the works for the Almaz system of the Black Shark Ka-50... no promises of course. ;)
  22. Forget the term 'noob' with Black Shark when nothing is dialed down.
  23. I think "later on" would be more like 6 months to a year, if not more, for each jet if they want to release each new jet with the systems fidelity that they are saying they will have. Don't forget they want a dynamic campaign in there as well and that would be a huge undertaking on it's own.
