Improving Samsung Odyssey clarity
i’m interested in this as well.
it’s either a sharpening setting, or a super sampling of some type.
but either will have a perf impact on every rendered frame
very few companies are making profits with VR. very few.
however we can help turn this around. we just need to buy more headsets and more software titles.
buy once, but twice. let’s do what we can to make VR a success.
How much RAM do you have?
agreed.
if you have any kind of statistical or market research training, you know these polls do not provide usable data.
the sample is both biased and way too small.
beta?
it all depends if you like to live on the edge or not.
some users really enjoy the adrenaline rush of waking out to the end and looking over the edge.
NVMe vs SSD
no one is claiming nvme is not a faster technology.
the question is whether you would notice in in real life.
loading a game 2 seconds faster might be worth it for some. maybe.
but i fail to see how a nvme drive can improve your frame rates.
unless the game code is brain damaged and requires everything in the sim to stop dead every few seconds while it loads a file from disk.... we stopped doing that in the 90’s, didn’t we?
NVMe vs SSD
surprise! you just noticed the difference between marketing and theory, and reality.
things that look good on paper and take money from your wallet, do not always deliver.
vram usage is set by the software.
you can ask for more hardware vram, but it’s way, way easier and way, way cheaper to adjust the software to only put what’s needed in vram
you didn’t actually “purchase” the software. if you read the End User Agreement, you will find that you “leased” the software with various conditions attached.
if you read through it, you will see what those conditions are and what options you have going forward.
Does Hyperthreading reduce DCS performance?
if you look at the benchmarks for performance increases with HT they are minimal. even the intel claims are small and that’s with highly optimized unrealistic workloads.
you don’t run those workloads on your home PC. nobody does.
HT provides a small gain, in a small number on workloads in a small number of scenarios.
that’s similar to my experience.
i have not noticed any speed improvement with NVME drives other than when tested with unrealistic benchmark software.
it doesn’t improve games much.
