  1. I remember reading a post on this late last year and nope, you are stuck with them.
  2. Sorry a bit OT but would you mind posting a pic of this setup.

I find it seems a bit low. When I am looking directly at my HUD it is over the UFC and I have to look up quite a lot to get it where I want it. Would be nice if we had an option to move it up and down in our view. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  4. Setup your HOTAS nicely, build a switch box and you never have to look for switches. Only ever touch the mouse for UFC (which I am building a desktop version of and Comms menu. The Bug is so nicely thought out, I have spare switches and buttons to use on my setup.
  5. Yeah the Bug cockpit is fantastic. I picked up the Harrier on the sale, and although they are very very similar, even just having t look around the UFC to see the MDFs feels very wrong.
  6. If you are having problems, stay near the ships. They will take care of some of the Migs for you then you and your Wing can take on what is left.
  7. I remember reading somebody did some tests and the FFB did not centre 100% or something like that. I think the neutral position was a tiny bit aft.
  8. Great mission, thanks. I like the feel of having to get all the way to the target and back, not just jump in and blow shit up. It is a pity it is hard to complete the mission because of the ICLS bug and the CVN not lighting up for the landing. All the way back and then no lights, had to divert, did not have the balls to try put her down in the dark.
  9. Wouldn't you change that in the snapviews file? Not at home machine so can't remember the location. Use a tool like Everything and search for smapview*.lua
  10. I don't think saying the mission sucks is fair at all. Yeah it would be nice to start further back, have more time to setup the jet and get some SA, but IRL most of us do not stand a chance to be a real fighter pilot, this is what these guys face. For a mission a week type of thing, I don't thing Wags and his crew have time to setup a full mission from takeoff to landing, they are giving us something fun to try using their free tme. I have a ton of hours in the Bug, systems, flight everything, awesome, but combat, I don't stand a chance, my brain just does not think that fast.
  11. Interesting one happened on the CAT today. Lined up, dropped my launch bar, hit the Hookup and suddenly my nose is pointing skyward. What the hell, then I am pointing at the deck... So then my Wingman decides to take advantage of me while I am down...
  12. Feels like you are about to kick some butt...
  13. So I figured out how to solve this engine problem. I flew the mission again today 3 times, first 2 times engine blown as per my previous missions, so decided I am recording it to show you guys what is going on and hope you can see my mistake. Of course mission success :-) I did however keep my RPM and Boost up the entire flight and did not do much dog fighting to save the engine which kinds defeats the purpose. Also having to fly around your wing detracts from the feeling of being part of this huge fighter wing. I seriously think the AI planes are a bit to slow and my trying to keep at their pace is causing me issues.
  14. This looks great, thanks a mill.
  15. You need to try anticipate what the plane is going to do and catch it before it does it. If you are starting to go left, you already need to be starting to get her to go right. It is a kind of tiny left, catch it with right, catch that right with a tiny left if that makes sense. If she is starting to swing it is already to late. On my Warthog I have the finger leaver as the brake lever, I just use my little finger and tap tap tap, as I use tiny inputs on the rudder pedals. When I say tap I mean hardly any pressure and it is almost constant as I dance the pedals. As soon as I notice movement in one direction, opposite rudder pedal and tap. Also pull back on the stick, the tail wheel does not lock, but the prop wash puts a little more pressure on the wheel pushing the elevator down and gives a little more control. Make sure you have a nice curve on your rudder, the spitfire is very sensitive in the air and ground, you don't need a lot of movement to get her to do something. Soften out those pedals.
  16. Glad to hear it is not just my old body that aches after a long session in the Spit. Man it is the only plane that actually hurts to fly. I spent a few days ago building a bracket for my Stick to place it center, but the desk layout is jut not right and was very uncomfortable so went back to stick on right hand side of keyboard method. Currently investigating other options. I find the trim very strange in the Spit, if you slow down you pitch up which seems a bit out of whack to me, but somebody posted in one of my other threads that as she slows, her tail gets heavy. I think it is just going to be a lot more practice.
  17. Phil thanks for the reply. I say I blew the engine because there are flames coming out the exhaust. The altitude on the way to target is between 27k and 30k, on the way out where I have the problem is at about 10K. I normally run the fuel pump all the time, thinking this was the right thing to do but now I am not sure. This is not an escort mission, this is just trying to stay with the fighter flight. They are just so slow on the way back, then they speed up, then they slow down, then they crash into anything close to them. Gotta love that AI. Going to try the mission again now. It is a loon process, Mission 1 all over and then onto Mission 2. With the Warthog stick, this is hell on the wrist. Thanks, Ross
  18. Hi guys, just started flying the Big Show. Wow a lot of love and attention went into this. Have posted in Reddit about this but thought I would bring this here to. Mission 2, in RTB my engine keeps failing on me. I have flow this 3 times and same result. So was wondering @Reflected if you built in failures? I looked at the miz file and it is not helpful, I assume because it is paid. It looks like I might be letting her run to cold. All temps are low, I am cruising at 1800 RPM, with 0 boost and bam, flames and no power. The last time I flew the mission, I was very strict on myself and would not go past 2700 / 2800 and boost at about 8 sometimes pushing to 12 but back off quickly when hunting a new target. Because I thought I might be to cold, on RTB this time I tried to keep RPM up a bit more and was zig zagging above my flight to stay with them and again flames. Not sure what it could be and if my settings are right but the flight is very slow to keep up with. Thanks, Ross Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  19. Not being funny as a noob myself but is this possible in the Spit? Man I can't trim her and the way my Warthog stick is placed on my desk I had to take a break from flying because the constant stick pressure got my tennis elbow going. I have actually had to turn rudder assist back on just so I can fly her and enjoy without pain, seriously. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  20. You will need 2 commands, one for Bright and Off and a second for Dim and Off. Not at my machine now so can't check for code. If you have not had a response tomorrow morning I will check for you. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  21. Also just gave this a try and works first time. Very cool solution and might save me a fortune in electronics for my desktop UFC. Now if only my tablet would charge, it is a little small on the phone. Edit: First run was on my Samsung S9+, decided to try on an older phone to see. On my Note 4 it fails when starting up the Hornet.
  22. Sides for the controllers to sit on. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  23. Thought I was going mad, controls were all gone, started fixing them, gave up and came back later only to fly a different mission and controls were back. Don't remember the sequence though. I think I ran Thru the Inferno Normandy first, not sure what Mustang I chose. When I came back I used one of my missions. (Not much help I know)
  24. Marc this is very interesting. Do you have any close up pics of the "arm"?
  25. Hi Gary I can't answer 1 for you, not sure but I assume and Arduino is an Arduino. 2, it is possible to have a Master Arduino and then connect multiple other Arduinos to it. Normally the guys setup a Mega as the Master, it will not be able to connect switches to, and then they connect Nanos to it. Each panel runs on a Nano that talk back to the Mega. As an idea of how this works, check out this thread for interesting ideas... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=219982
