  1. Although INS may not be moddeled yet, and the alignment part is buggy at the moment (even if it is a placeholder) it is still better to do things the right way now. This way you don’t go into bad habbits of doing things differently now and having to “relearn” it again when things do get fixed/implemented. It will be fun times when they ever implement INS alignment and people start complaining about things not working :).
  2. I can fly the F14 the whole evening and it doesn’t happen. If I go the my controls settings page in whatever plane I use it will happen. (ATM I only fly either the F14 or the F18 though). But ive had it with the F18 as well. If I use the mission editor without even flying it sometimes will happen. (Probably depending on what I did select or clicked, didn’t pinpoint that yet). This is offcourse on my setup and it may be different with others. But for me it isn’t related to only flying the F14.
  3. See the post on page 2 of this thread by Maverick: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3838442&postcount=17 It will help you out with it. Please note that you have to replace it after every update. I have created a xcopy script that does this everytime I start it. It also starts trackir, target software dor the Hotas :).
  4. I only have this when I open my controls assignment or the mission editor. It is not per se related to the F14. (On my setup that is). If I open DCS and start playing on a server without going to my controls I am fine. If your DCS hangs, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click logout. It will shut down DCS and you can log back in. Lets wait and see what the update from today will fix!
  5. This. When I start the mission on the CAT my plane is bumped off it at spawn and I am to far forward. I never get launched. In the external view I am in front of the CAT. Cancle takeoff, extend the gear, taxi around and stop a little behind the shuttle?, whatever its called. Lower the gear and press U. Only then I am launched with shift + U. I do not have this issue with the F18 on the same mission though but my guess it is an generic DCS issue. In another mission the F14 is fine at spawn.
  6. This reminds me of the discussions about the Formula one Halo. Drivers don’t even notice it in real life but on a 2D monitor in the game is annoying af. I must admit that in the F18 I had to get uses to it as well. I had the stick hidden in the beginning but not anymore. But there is no harm done if they make it like the F18. People who like it can have it visible, others can hide it.
  7. Yeah I know. Was more sarcasm. But I made an extra line in my prelaunch DCS script to set the wallpaper before launching DCS now ,).
  8. Nothing changed bu yet my own custom F14 wallpaper has gone back to default :music_whistling:! Wednesday will be a great patch for the F18 as well with JDAM’s to be added. It will be a tough choise what to fly :helpsmilie:
  9. Not the place to discus who’s to blame but your conclusion is way to simple. Trim wheel in a 737 after takeoff is constantly moving. If it isn’t moving I would be worried.
  10. Would it be possible to designate a target via the HUD and then release a JDAM on it? This for missions where the current GPS isn't availible or accurate enough?
  11. I also think it has something to do with something else then the FM (that for sure whould end up in the change log) but the F14 flies different for me 100%. I have had good FPS with the F14 (99-120) so it wasn’t those kind of performance issues I had. Control wise I never had a “touch” with the F14. Although the F18 and A10 are different aircraft I never had so much trouble getting a feeling for an aircraft then with the F14. It was actually driving me nuts. And without practise this week it couldn’t be related to me getting better. They managed to trim the memory usage down a lot so maybe my PC was struggeling on that part to keep up. Im also hosting a server so who knows what this does with input lag etc. Anyway, besides the lot of CTD’s we are heading in the right direction for me :joystick: Happy flying!
  12. I don't know, you tel me :music_whistling:. Couldn't fly the F14 for almost a week due to work. First flight this week was after this patch and I noticed something has changed within my DCS and the F14. For me it seems my control input has become subtle. Before it felt clunky and laggy. Whatever happened on my system, I like the way the f14 feels to me now, except the CTD but that seems to be already fixed internally. Waiting for the HF.

  14. Two CTD yesterday just before impacting the ground. Not much in any log to discover. The CTD is instant without a “hangup” so there is probably no time for a crashreport. No popup window of DCS crashing either.
  15. First thing I said yesterday to my RIO after liftoff. “Something changed, it is much easier to handle and trim” Later that night I tried a refuel and that succeeded almost without issues. Before I was unable to connect, nomather what I tried. Before the patch I didn’t had any performance issues but I wonder if I had some kind of input lag. Every control input feels a lot smoother now!
  16. Yup same. Human RIO always survives but I am dead just after ejection. (Confirmd in chat). Only ejection I did survive so far was when the RIO popped us out on the ground after a flight. And yeah, I need a lot of ejections in this module lol. Flat spins, wings snapping off or just beeing shot down :)
  17. It has nothing to do to the alignment. I create a mission, put a F14 down on CAT 3 hot and ready. I open the mission in SP, plane starts straight on CAT 3, put MIL power on and shift + u, got launched as expected. I open the same mission in MP, plane bounces once on spawn, slides around a little, put on MIL power, shift + u, never launches. Then I start the CAT 1 launch training mission in SP. I taxi to CAT 3, hook myself up few degrees of the center, MIL power and Shift + u, still launched. For me the problem is MP missions.
  18. I know, and that works but I don't like the way that operates in the (my) sim. :music_whistling: Didn't look right was a wrong expression on my part. But in my opinion, when mapping the paddle to "Autopilot off" it should turn off, but it doesn't and that is why I can not trim (and maybe the OP to). I have to click the "Autopilot engage" button once more, although in my cockpit it is already in the off position.
  19. I can confirm the issue as well but could be related how I mapped things. On default my Hotas autopilot disengage switch was mapped to "Autopilot emergency disconnect paddle" but this also switched off AFCS switches. Didn't look right. So i changed the joystick switch to the "Autopilot off" controls. The autopilot disengages in the game, the Alt hold switch goes to its default position and the autopilot engage switch goes to off, but trim doesn't work. I have to mouseclick the actual autopilot engage switch on the left hand side in the cockpit once more before trim will work again. When I click the button in the cockpit after I used the joystick paddle I hear the switch sound again, so to me it seems the actual joystick binding doesn't work correctly, or I have to map it to something different.
  20. Yeah me in MP. After the "Hotfix" i'm not able to launch from the carrier. Plane starts shaking and thats it. Didn't had this on the release version, either I was lucky then or this is a new feature. Edit: I think it is related to the deck sliding. I'm perfectly lined up to the CAT (F2 view confirms), lower nose, press F2 and noticed the plane slided a few inches away from the first position. Press U and the shaking begins, plane is taken to the correct position by the CAT, unable to launch. 2: Even if I change my mission so the F14 will start at CAT3 already hooked up I can't launch. As soon as I spawn in the aircraft I'm already detached from the CAT by some deck sliding. Untill I know what the **** I am doing wrong Ive ordered all the F14's to launch from an airfield :).
  21. Ive only managed to tank 500 lbs so far after 1 hours plus trying.. I just can't seem to get me lined up with it properly. The FA-18C is super easy for me, the F14 is painfully difficult. Will Keep on trying though! Do you have some axis tuned for this Maverick? If I only look at my joystick the fluctuations are all over the place. I can't make fine adjustments.
  22. Not sure about your Windows 7 but for Windows 10 users, after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del you could click "sign out". Saves your PC from shutting it down by the power button.
  23. Correct. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3839902&postcount=37 Couldn't find any mission related frequencies in the .miz files for our own mission. Wonder how the D/L frequency is initialized during mission startup. Is it always the same or does it change?
  24. From a distance make your HUD SOI. Put your nose down over the target and depress sensor select. You can also slew the sensor if not accurate enough. You can then use that SOI for auto release mode of bombs and I guess you can snap the TV Mavericks to it as well, never tried the last though. Sometimes I use this methos for LGB in auto mode when I want to stay on altitude.
