I wasn't expecting to see it released in any form until the first of the year before today, today's newsletter changed nothing as far as that goes. I did enjoy the stills, would love to see some video of the animated crew at the catapults, though to hold me over until Thanksgiving. :)

I wouldn't mind seeing some performance figures on it myself, with various plane layouts on the deck. Just to get an idea what we'll be looking forwards to.

New news supposed to be in this week's newsletter concerning DCS: Supercarrier.

Ageing legacy 3d models - Will they all be overhauled?
Steve Gee replied to Konovalov's topic in DCS Core Wish List
A necessity in any intercept mission in the Cold War era, but especially in a Tomcat. -
Again, many thanks. :) After seeing that C-17 in the F-16 release more and more, it's become the new S-3, really in need of an update. I just want to make something a bit easier to look at for the default one.
-
Many thanks, I can open all of those and see what I need, now that I know where to look. :) Edit - Do you know the location where these files are as well? No idea where DCS keeps the AI files at.

With the debut of the F-16 and the C-17's flying around in the Instant Missions of it, I was wanting to tidy of the Globemaster skin a bit, but not sure what name to save the .dds file. How do I find out the default file name for an AI plane?

Any missions posted that has this mod installed, with civilian traffic departing/landing?

The AAR is a very welcome feature, glad to hear it's closer to Block 2 than 1.
-
Many thanks. :)

Is there a post listing the components/weapons/features of the JF-17? Such as engine, avionics, even the model of JF-17 being depicted, Block 1 or 2? I know ED likes to keep their planes one model specific, like with the Block 50's, and was curious if Deka did the same. Really looking forward to this, a first day buy for me and others as well, I'm sure.

What you're seeing in those pics is a different pod, the LITENING, used by the Navy. The one we currently have is used exclusively by the Marines and is mounted on the center tank. LITENING will be out some time in the future they've mentioned. Edit - As someone pointed out, it's the ATFLIR pod on the cheek you see in photos I guess,. not the LITENING one.

Same for me, until I select CCRP. Then, it slews to the nav point and can be moved around. No idea if it's supposed to move in CCIP or not, but it doesn't now.

Really fun, just what I was looking for to have for re-familiarization/training. Many thanks for saving me months or reading and dire attempts. :) For me, the F-14B and F/A-18C slots seem to block CAT 1/2, where the E-2's trying to takeoff from. Would it be possible to make it so all naval selections (Tomcat/Hornet) start in one the elevators to not slow that E-2 down?

[ALREADY REPORTED]ladder down in multiplayer ?
Steve Gee replied to FZG_Immel's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I'm guessing this is new, since I'm seeing it myself online since the F-16 came out. -
The in-game Kuznetsov will undergo a revamp after the Supercarrier project it completed, according to various ED personnel, along with a new Burke DD.

Nice job on the F-16's instant cold start missions, as they seem to be more populated than previous ones. It would be nice to see all modules instant missions like the Viper's. For people just starting out in DCS, and especially having no knowledge of the mission editor, having those missions more populated makes them more enjoyable. It's nice to see the Yak doing acrobatics along your flight path, helicopters striking enemy forces on a hilltop and A-10's laying waste to enemy/OPFOR armor and the other random flights give you opportunities to explore off the given flight path. Adds to the environment much more than a bland take off and fly around in earlier ones.

Or, ED can go back and make sure the Hornet's switches are all in the proper startup checklist procedures, since nothing is perfect, if that's the answer. This is a Wishlist section, is it not? It was my wish and really was no need, or reason, for you to come and tell me I can't have it, RL startup checklist be damned. :)

Can't slew TGP with any precision. What am I doing wrong?
Steve Gee replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Had same problem, jumped back and forth between Viper and Hornet to compare. Mapped to a HAT switch and it REALLY jumps as the OP mentioned, /and the TGP was SOI, triple checked. Especially compared to slew in the Hornet's same TGP, mapped to same keystrokes/HAT switch. I'm hoping it's just not refined resolution/whatever wise as it is EA, but there's not comparison on the Viper and the Hornet with the same pod currently. -
For me, the logical first choice would be the Greyhound. DCS already is the leader in virtual naval air ops and with a new carrier on the horizon, OCD will be in need. I'd love to see variants of the C-130, but that's not the way DCS seems to work in plane models (more one model specific for the majority), so refine what you do best, carrier flight operations.

I REALLY hope they update the S-3. Along with some cargo plane models, that thing has seen the years go by and needs replacing.
-
Then it would be something that needs to be shown, and instructed, in the Startup training mission then.

Would it be possible to have the squelch knobs in the ON position for the two squelch settings? When the engine starts, you're greeted with an ungawdly loud rushing noise that's going to blow a speaker for those of us using surround systems cranked up.
