  1. Of course. I did not read up in the first post about how this was made, kind of made sense to me somehow that the map was extracted from game files rather than screencapped... Still lovely looking though! ;)
  2. I remember all of these promotion videos with great pleasure. It was a great wait, which was actually a lot SHORTER than the time of joy you got out of the game! (This never/rarely occurs with any other game)
  3. I'd like to seconds EtherealNs suggestion to also release the vector version. I would have tonnes more use of that than even a very high resolution lossless.
  4. Incredible! Love it already. Now gotta figure out a good way to get it printed
  5. My digital manual consists of 534 pages since the patch, doesn't yours?
  6. +1 I'm amazed at peoples attitutudes sometimes. This isn't the 20th century any more...
  7. Also available here? http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en&cat_sid=2
  8. (As far as I know there is no deactivation code since the update of the protection scheme since Black Shark version 1.0.1. Then you just deactivate your activation and then activate it again using the original serial again. Also, I think it should be noted that every deactivation reduces the remaining deactivations available (if I remember correctly, you where given 10 deactivations in total)).
  9. Not really being able to add anything to help you, but wouldn't this more properly be named Moiré patterns? Imo "aliasing" would be the jagged (horrible looking) lines at the edges of the shkval monitor. Judging from the picture you supplied you either have massive issues with anisotropic filtering on your graphics card or the picture compression is messing things up..

The pictures look really neat. The video looks like a development version but still very intruiging! Looking forward to how this will shape up!
  11. A very nice story. I would be pleased to have the opportunity to do something like that. I'm glad the boys of both teams realized that winning this one game really didn't matter just this time.
  12. Maybe the searches expire after a certain amount of time? They worked earlier today I know.. In any case, he's kind of casking you to try searching the forums using the search tool. Try looking for terms like X52 profile X52 pro profile saitek x52 saitek x52 profile logitech g15 logitech g15 profile joystick profile hotas profile keyboard profile
  13. Congratulations from Sweden!
  14. That's strange. Looks just like the kind of artifacts you get when overclocking the video card too much. You haven't attached a third party cooler to it and forgot or accidentally mis-attached some of the heat sinks?
  15. Thanks for the help but I'm really not interested in voice recognition at all. I play computer games in a rather small apartment and that would just not work with me sitting talking to the computer, my girlfriend would go crazy ;) Since I got my X52 Pro I never really felt any lack of keys anyway, rather lack of time to play enough to make a perfect profile for it ;) None-the-less thanks, I'll definitely look into the software and keep it in mind for the future. Btw it was also rather fun to see my name on a thread since I rarely have time to come around the forums now-a-days.
  16. After a more thorough playthrough with the demo software I realized that the tracking is not at all perfect at the extremes (far right or left for example). The tracking is imprecise in these regions and sometimes loses track totally. What more is that this method of head tracking requires that you are properly lighted, something many gamers most probably are not =). Obviously the tracking is limited to <30fps or whatever your webcam can produce. The CPU-utilization is of course higher than any dedicated hardware (e.g. TrackIR) but what says we won't see dedicated highres highfps webcams coming about? The main point I see to this is that there is totally no need for extra hardware on your head (reflectors, ir-clip, big white paper on cap etc...). Lip and eyebrow tracking is very nice, but I fail to see usage make any difference in any regular game (thinking like lipsync in games like Arma or whatever).
  17. I've been waiting for a good application that can handle headtracking via face-recog. Saw this company display their stuff a while back and have been eagerly awaiting the result! Think this can do it? If only they could output into some standard head-tracking format so that it could work with all applications. Since Naturalpoint are a little edgy about using their interface it would be nice if someone else would propose a general purpose head-tracking interface format. (I know freetrack has one, but really don't know what is needed for a really open and flexible one). This could easily blow trackir out of the water if they can motivate buyers that they can spare the extra processing power... Edit: Tried the software now and it's truly amazing how fluid tracking they can provide! I really love it! =D Using their test application it consumes approx 13% CPU power, so it's a rather expensive algorithm but hey, give me a hexa core and I'll be a happy boy using this anyway ;). Edit2: Using Freetrack uses about 6% on my computer. I'm convinced the differences between the softwares are quite small when it comes down to it. FaceAPI demo application displays all the fancy stuff which is not needed for headtracking in games.
  18. This is plainly amazing

    ARMA II ACE II

No, actually the game is very moddable indeed! It is just important that one does not mess with game files. Mods are usually installed as such: C:\ArmaIIdir\@MOD That is, in a folder in the arma 2 directory that begins with an @-symbol. This way it is very easy to add or change mod-files (for example update them) either manually or using a tool (yoma addonsync, sixupdater) without messing with the standard game files. The game is then started either with a shortcut containing this "-mod=@MOD1;@mod2" appended to the command line (just keep on adding for more mods), or using a launcher application (there are several on armaholic.com). The best way to install ACE2 is to use yoma addon sync IMO. Here is a simple guide (that I totally copied from someone else;)): Here's how I've learned how to keep my ACE 2 mod folders (@ACE, @ACEX, @ACEX_SM) up to date. Download the latest version of the ArmA2 Addon Sync program. http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/yoma-addonsync2009 Install it. Run it. Select "Settings" and point it to your ArmA2 directory and EXE. There are a lot of other "rocket scientist" buttons and stuff on this page ... just ignore it Select the "Favorite servers" tab and then the "New server" button. Plug one of these into the "Auto config URL" box: http://www.kellys-heroes.eu/updater/ArmA2ACE-Repository/ArmA2ACE-Repo.7z Select the "Import server" button. If you like the server, select the "Save" button to make it one of your favorites. Now select the "Download addons" tab and the "Check for addons" button. This graphically shows you what you need, what you don't need, and what you can delete. Finally you can select the "Download addons" button. PS. I know this is a lot of BS but the entire ACE 2 mod is about 1.25 Gig so it makes sense since it is being updated daily. Running Addon Sync daily and hitting the "Download addons" button only takes a minute. PPS. I recommend ACEX (1 GB) for the M16/Aimpoint Scope model alone

    ARMA II ACE II

They just didn't realize that not informing people that it is the copy protection doing this and not the game being bad gives the opposite effect... =)

    ARMA II ACE II

Brutally obvious case of FADE. Sorry Make sure when installing the mod that you don't accidentally tamper with some game files, the game will recognize the changed files and secretly activate this nefarious copy protection that will make you really mad at the game and stop playing it completely =)
  22. Same for me actually. 4th year of university studies are beginning to become really hard and work is just cropping up immensly =) I'll be back during the easter holiday! Stay safe people
  23. When I had only 2 sticks of RAM in my computer (E6750, Corsair XMS2 pc6400 RAM) I could easily go to 3.6Ghz with only stock cooling. After I put in two more sticks it was harder to get enough cooling on my RAM sticks and now I hit the roof at 3.4Ghz, but still. These processors can handle some mean overclocking and I am confident that if you cool your RAM and northbridge enough you can easily reach 4Ghz with a 3rd party cpu-cooler. Also, when deciding on RAM. Look at what FSB you're planning to reach and select RAM based on that. My memory is 800Mhz but they easily go to the 900Mhz required for 3.6Ghz OC of CPU. Granted, I can't reach this high now that I have four sticks, which kind of indicates that I should have gotten some faster chips (but I didn't intend on this kind of overclock three years ago when I bought it;)). I'd say go for 2 sticks (leaves more room for airflow around them) that are 1066Mhz. No need to spend money on pricey 1333Mhz sticks when you're not going that high anyway. edit: Noting that you have a higher multiplier than I do (I can only go to x8 but you can reach x9) I really think overclocking to 4Ghz shouldn't be a problem at all. Since even my cheap-o PC2-6400 RAM could stand 450Mhz FSB (1:1 ratio) I believe that getting 1066Mhz chips would be the absolute best. You probably wouldn't be able to run them 1:1 with that x9 multiplier but they should easily handle the FSB required for 4Ghz (444Mhz FSB?).
  24. I prefer to keep it here, where it can be discussed instead of turned into an ALL CAPS WHINE THREAD.... =D Never-the-less I don't intend to buy it anyway. Too focused on school, Arma2 and DCS =)
