This functionality should be included from the start... I wonder why it's not possible to use without this trick, I'd love to find a use for the two "rolls" underneath the display =D

Why not enjoy the new (albeit rather limited) 6dof you get in FC2 and just assign the zoom to some handy keys or buttons/sliders/axes on your HOTAS? I'm intruiged by the amount of threads springing up with people who want to zoom by leaning forward! ?

You only need to get Flaming Cliffs 2 download version and install it. To complete the installation you must have either Lock On (first one) or Flaming Cliffs (first one) installed. You could even have both installed and then install Flaming Cliffs 2! =) You do not need Black Shark unless you get tempted and want to fly the helicopter ;)

Let's hope you have equal amounts of luck with your guess for DCS: A-10c as you did for FC2! =D

To thread starter: As far as I know you need another licence to host "dedicated" servers. Look up all the information available on the forum regarding hosting Black Shark and you should be well on your way.

I'm thinking it may be something strange with your key-stroke recording. Try recording it again, and make sure to hold shift while pressing L. Try recording it as a macro instead and play with the timings of the button holds? I used windows 7 and have no problems, sorry to hear about yours.

Yes I believe it is in this case. Make sure that FC2 is allowed through your firewalls if you got any.

Now I need someone to do all the hard work of tweaking all settings for each of the individual planes so that I get as few graphical glitches with the largest amount of travel. =) Does this interfere with multiplayer capability, thinking of file checking etc. ? It'd be great if we can fix some kind of standard settings for everyone to use so no one can "cheat"...

Have a look at the FAQ, maybe you missed something else as well? As far as I can tell you still need to install the old FC in order to install the download version upgrade to FC2. There are no clickable cockpits in any of the planes from FC2! People are just confused because of the mouse cursor in the cockpits (a basic feature of the engine FC2 now runs in). There is nothing to click in the cockpits, they are still the same "dump" cockpits as in previous FC.

MadTommy is right. The Z-axis DOES work, but it's not assigned to zoom like it was in previous FC, it is now assigned to a very limited forward movement of the viewpoint - just like in Black Shark but with very reduced range of motion.

It works just like Black Shark regarding the key. It only asks for the serial key when you try to start a mission the first time.
