any server tonight ?

photoshop and a good pair of eyes and some understanding of light can pull off some good stuff. this was a pic i did for il2 which i was quite proud of. similar editing of the shader textures that are available.

playing with shaders first. obviously thats a texture too. need template!

i use TIR but i dont think i would be endulging in using it whilst attempting close formation flying. (maybe there is a good use for precision TIR mode) it might be good for the video re run but concentration on your own plane is more important. atleast thats how i see it. any opinions?

2 main issues i notice presently: It needs 1280 x 720 display option. When viewing other multiplayer server participants i hear no engine sound, just the rush of wind generated. edit: sorry ive put this in wrong place. wanted to convey both issues at once, stupid me should have seperated. soz

must admit i would like to change my vote on this considering my view is different since when the poll was generated. considerably different ! and not just due to the advent of trying the latest offering. more so because of the advent of DCS:World. new poll required please.

most of them will be, or setup with several participants wanting to concentrate etc. i got a bit fluffy last night when server just shuts down without announcement (tuskegee airmen server) and then its passworded. no other server offering public play so yer Phoofed ! best host one yourself upon creating a mission for your server. unfortunatly nobody is obliged to public host.

is ownership of p51 shown under your account on dcs main website ? sorry if its silly question.

indeed my thoughts too, if i put that level in game it would come with a multi coloured feather duster addon module.

ahh ha ! :thumbup: which leads me to ask, MS Flight is flaunted a certain way similar in which DCS could pan out, will Ed flaunt in the same vain. loosly described without the game play connotations, will DCS world resemble a Free 2 Play model in some fashion as an entity of its own ? what i see here is remarkable in terms of where it could go. Trumping competitons via 3rd party involvment. sheesh.

question for ya EtherealN, will all dcs titles come with optional world install or will world eventuallly be seperated from the aircraft too. for example may we see a torrent file containing only the aircraft assets in future ? for example few hundred meg p51 install via torrent. we all got world via the p51, so what happens for the next thing ? i know there was a seperate exe file download link (that wouldnt work for me) for the p51 but point is not that. and i had to get the torrent and in future i would like the option of not downloading world via the main torrent.

your original a10 install, bs1 or bs2 install will be redundant due to the existance of the DCS:world only requiring the assets for the specific aircraft etc. where the a10 install was previously many gigs as it included the world scenery that is DCS world, from now on "soon" applying the aircraft will come without the necessity they previously had of installing the world. so less to download in general after the DCS:World install.

my only issue with this is that there isn`t a single p51 picture that i can find that my image looks anything like.:music_whistling: it trully will be 1 of a kind with incorrect emphasis on materials used in the pit. for some that will be an issue i guess, iam a texture artist but asides small details im not texturing here. just a re balance from MY eyes point of view. if a template existed i would go the whole hog. ̶

completely missed the fact i had lost them. cheers. went with some old creamy colours for the dials now, added further indication on the speedo. still too yellow around the ball ...doh. no light vs light. darkness is not the opposite of light, it is the absence of light.

well thanks folks i shall continue with this as a little project. Earlier i went to test the textures in flight with fraps it was really great to be honest, some guy starts trailing on my wing so i go with it and apply some casual meandering. sadly i didnt concentrate on the textures lol. camera angles were more fun. i`ll see if it converts over to youtube nicely edit:

not enough bright light ? wondering how others feel now, but i thought my modifying came out quite nice. and theres a nice shadow effect still occuring, thoughts on dirty ageing warbirds ? (of the aircraft variety:music_whistling:)

its a funny old one this. im inclined to want the pilot too. but comparitivley speaking im a sim racer too and when doing that my consideration is that iam the pilot i dont need animated arms i also have a stearing wheel in front of me why would i want one on screen. so it all gets removed to allow full concentration. but still i wants it ! lol. i think its about choice at the end of the day and the reasons are very valid, more so in the flight cockpits than the car cockpits. add it in i say and obscure as much as possible. whilst typing this i had the same idea as kegety.

does the reg file i added to allow me to play online require some re-setting considering this patch is available ?

i was on the nay say side too, but i have been quite impressed with what ive seen so far and the mess that the other ww2 flightsim is makes this even more appealing, whilst not and probally never set in a ww2 environment it still makes sense. TBH at the end of the day i dont think there is any aircraft that would sit out of place within DCS environment. i think these prop aircraft could certainly bring a bit more joy to the sim in general. and inbetween all the modern combat stuff its a no brainer and a nice fun break. keep making more special era aircraft and whatever else. suits, and hopefully one day we can get an aerobatic based module with that increase in scope of the series.
