Props to all the developers for the sale and the free trials. Great idea and a nice way to react to the current situation! Many thanks.

In English, sentences begin with uppercase letters. Use a little dot to indicate the sentence has ended (this is called a full stop in British English, and a period in North America and other areas). When you leave out a letter, or letters, to form a contraction, indicate this by using a ' in place of the missing letters. Damn, you're correct. This is fun!

Now I'm confused. Are we talking about tail rotor collective pitch control pedals? Or anti-adverse yaw vertical axis control pedals? Cuz I only have some Mk.IV foot things, but I like flying both helos and fixed winged air craft. Damn ... I don't think there's enough room under my desk for Mk.IVs, Trickpeas, AND um, ... Antayvaxcops (come back to me,I can do better).

I wish the pack could be a little more granular. I would love to buy the Sabre just to play the Hunters over Yalu campaign. However, the extra $29.99 premium required by also having to get the WWII assets is a bit too much - for something I may never ever use again. I don't fly warbirds in DCS and cannot see this ever changing. If I could buy the aa guns as a $1.99 DLC which would allow me to play the campaign, then ED would get $49.99 for the Sabre and I could support a talented campaign maker by buying his wares (I try to buy all the campaigns for the modules I own - DCS needs to support their content makers more!). Given that the Sabre didn't ever come with a campaign it would be great if ED could find a way to support the content makers this way (modern modules aren't paying for their ground assets separately). Honestly the more reasonable option is that if you buy a campaign, the assets (40's, 60's, 2000's, whatever) should be unlocked for the missions in those campaigns. However I'm totally fine buying $1.99-$2.99 pieces for such things. But $30 is too much for me. Just an idea. And yes I know developers need to be supported. I've bought 14 modules, 3 terrains, and 11 campaigns - many of which I've yet to play. This is just a suggestion to make it easier to buy more, support the developers and content makers.

Thanks for the tip! Wish the forum could be a little more genial and a lot less pedantic. One of the downsides of a "study sim" I guess. People forget its just a game.

"Loose formation" - campaign giveaway
wowbagger replied to Reflected's topic in Reflected Simulations
Very nice gesture. It's a lovely change from reading news about hoarders and price gougers over the past few days. I especially like the name you chose for the giveaway. Cheers for raising the World's karma at such a time. Edit: I don't actually own any of the aircraft for your wonderful looking campaigns, but your Tomcat teaser has me champing at the bit! -
WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Information
wowbagger replied to CHPL's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
+1 Totally agree with this sentiment. -
This is a huge loss. This campaign is one of the two best available for DCS in my opinion, and one of the best experiences you can have in the game. It shows what DCS is really capable of when done right. It's shocking to me that ED doesn't try to make campaigns, of this calibre, in house every year. I feel like ED ignores a large percentage of the potential of their product. Not to support unfounded speculation, but I always fear that the few people who do produce these excellent campaigns will tire of fixing their work so often, after yet another patch breaks it, and will simply stop altogether. When there are no more decent working campaigns, I will be finished with DCS. Anyway, sad to see OPF go. Your work is truly excellent Ranger79.

Crash during Mission #2
wowbagger replied to Snakedoc's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
I would suspect 2.5.6 issues. I played that mission last week without any problem - but I haven't updated to 2.5.6 yet, specifically because I don't want it to break the campaign missions. -
I haven't tested extensively, but a cursory trial seems to indicate that it works just fine with multiple installs. I think you just have to make sure that anytime the VAICOMPRO.export.lua is updated, you copy the new version to any other saved games/dcsversion/scripts/vaicompro folders you have installed.
-
Thanks Weegie, much appreciated. I just duplicated my install folder today, so hopefully I can mess around with it today or tomorrow and see what works/doesn't work as well. Cheers

This! This! SO MUCH THIS! (sorry for yelling ) I'd love this for another reason. I am currently playing through EW3 and love every minute of it, however I had to start mission #2 three times, simply because real life wasn't kind enough to allow me the necessary amount of uninterrupted time to complete the mission start to finish. DCS doesn't have a save game feature, but splitting long missions up without sacrificing realism for those who desire it could be the next best thing. And it would let you replay any difficult bits over if necessary without having to invest the whole amount of mission time. I guess it makes for a lot more work for the mission designer though. I was just thinking this morning that the production value of some of the campaigns are so high, Baltic's and Ranger79 in particular, it's pretty crazy that they cost so little. The amount of high quality game play time they provide is just staggering compared to some of the other things we pay for with DCS. I think I paid $9.99 for the A-10C and $7.99 for EW3. That's less than $20 USD for hours and hours of the highest quality simming. I'd be happy to pay $25-$30 for the campaigns alone, if it ensures we will continue to have such things in this game. When DCS gets a big update which breaks the missions/mods etc, I worry that the mission designers will get tired of it all and simply go do something else.
-
Hey Weegie, did you ever figure out if this works / what you need to do? I have the same question and could not find if your question was ever answered. Version 2.5.6 has broken too many things at the moment so I want to keep a pre-256 install so I can finish up some of the campaigns (Piercing Fury, EW3) at my leisure without fear of permanent breakage. cheers
-
Thanks Chic, that is a solution I would have never guessed in a million years. I had no idea Simshaker for Aviators had such things in them. I'll try the silent wav file replacement. I appreciate the link to the info and file - much more helpful than yet another unsolicited 'git gud'. cheers

Mission two - triggers bugged?
wowbagger replied to Sawamura's topic in A-10C Operation Piercing Fury Campaign
One of DCS's biggest problems is the way missions are broken so frequently with updates. It must discourage mission/campaign builders and it lowers the attractiveness of older modules (Mig-21 for example). I am specifically avoiding the 2.5.6 update because, until last week, I hadn't yet started Piercing Fury and was afraid it would be broken by the update. And since it is no longer for sale, I'm worried about future functionality. I will either put off updating until I finish this campaign, or make a separate installation just for this kind of thing. I did the first mission last week and I must say it is amazing work! This campaign (so far) shows the true potential of DCS. ED would be far better served to have talented campaign builders brought in house and make much more such content, instead of incidentally breaking the missions so often and leaving it to the mission designers to always play catch up. Imagine how much good content this game could have by this point. It seems like such a neglected and lost opportunity to greatly enhance DCS. -
Bumping this thread. (apologies) Has it been explained? In the UN Campaign, Pedro (or whatever his name is) chastised me in Russian when I wasn't following his flight plan closely enough. And, sometimes I get the 'Spanish sounding' (VRS?) warning shouted at me even when flying non-UN Pilot campaign flights. Both ruin the atmosphere a bit.

Yes I have to agree. From a developer's perspective, perhaps doing the Kiowa first and then coming back to the Gazelle makes sense. From the consumer's perspective it makes no sense at all. I'm waiting on the Gazelle before buying the Kiowa.
-
Wow, the level of behaviour in this thread is just ... wow. Everyone is allowed to express an opinion about the game which they bought, without being discounted or insulted or treated to schoolyard bullying.

"Ka-50. Possible typos in EN cockpit" - DCS 2.5.6.43872 Open Beta Is it coming with English pit already?
-
That looks so good. Blue/ English is what I would like. Actually I will wait until an English pit is available. It's difficult enough to memorize multiple cockpits for this game. I can just about manage the Latin based alphabets - Swedish pits and French pits etc. I just don't have the time available to try to do it in alphabets I can't read, though I know lots of people do.
-
Haven't tried it again yet post DCS 2.5.6.43453 Open Beta patch, but thank you very much for fixing this. This kind of thing is much appreciated!

I love my Jetseat from Andre - it makes sims really come alive. For helos it is simply amazing. And Andre's service is excellent. I've mounted my Jetseat motors inside the seat of my sim rig. It works extremely well and is super comfy this way. However the vibrations are strong enough to be noticeable on the floor below the gaming room, even with carpet and massive old wooden floorboards. I was playing through the Enemy Within 3.0 a few days ago :joystick: and afterwards my wife asked if I was moving a lot of furniture around upstairs. :D I have tried turning down the vibration strength but it doesn't make a huge difference. The rig sits on little round feet. Can anyone recommend a good vibration insulating material to slip under the feet which could prevent awkward explanations about my vibrating chair? Cheers

 Good point, well made.

I always say simpler is better. I'd lose everything except the yellow tank top, red bikini bottoms, and big hair. And perhaps a paperclip holding everything to the kneeboard.
