  1. Agreed, thanks Decoy. I hope renewed interested will result in a fix. This is very close to being a great little module.
  2. A pleasure. I hope you get it sorted without difficulty.
  3. Ya, the "learn how to start it manually", "autostart should be removed from the game" replies to any thread which mentions autostart are the most useless, self indulgent, and derailing replies on this forum. Also, they are the most predictable, and should earn a warning in my opinion. Raven434th, I have autostart in my controls ["d309pnilunilcdnilvdnilvpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "Home", ["reformers"] = { [1] = "RWin", }, }, }, ["name"] = "Start Procedure", }, (I switched mine to Rwin+Home) It's under the Keyboard Macros section ... I think - not 100% sure about that section name. You can search your Keyboard.diff.lua in the Harrier controls directory within your saved games directory to see if there is an entry. Otherwise maybe you need to reset your controls for the Harrier? Also I thought the description of the Harrier Cold and Dark instant action was funny. And a little sad.
  4. Caucasus forest winter I think they look fantastic.
  5. I'm playing the campaign in the Viper at the moment, and I ended up adjusting the time forwards a bit to make things a little lighter. I simply had zero orientation in the total blackness. Very fun campaign!
  6. There are bugs with this module that have been around from release - some of which make it not worth spending limited simming time struggling against. In my opinion, Razbam doesn't do a good enough job communicating what has been a confirmed as recognized bug, what they intend to do about it, and when it might fixed. The community manager mostly posts "I'll pass it along to the coders", and then nothing more is heard about it for months and months and months. In other Razbam modules things get moved, without comment, to the resolved bugs area after nothing has changed. Patches have fixes for things I've never noticed, but the show stopping bugs linger on for a year and a half. Razbam doesn't communicate or interact with their users on this forum nearly as well as almost any other DCS developer, again in my opinion. Combine that with major bugs which have been there since release day and which have had no confirmation of being looked at, and it is easy to assume the module is not progressing. Honestly, for my own experience, all they have to do is fix the damn ADF knob. I don't VR, so I can't speak to that, but I can sympathize with similar frustration that others might be feeling because of it. I didn't expect much from the module when I bought it, but I was pleasantly surprised at what a nice plane it turned out to be. That is until I tried to actually employ it for more than joy riding. To have the only navigational tool be as dysfunctional as it is is frankly ridiculous. They have one of the best mission makers there is for DCS but he is hamstrung by the state of the aircrafts' systems. The campaign for the Harrier is finally supposed to be around the corner, but look how long it has taken - because the systems weren't to the point where the mission maker could finish crafting a campaign. I was looking forwards to flying the Mig campaign - the main reason I bought the module. But I refuse to spend most of my time with my head stuck under my right armpit twiddling a recalcitrant knob, as my plane slowly dives into a mountain side - it's just not fun. There seems to be plenty of communication from Razbam about models they have been making, ideas for future modules, and nascent maps. But the bugs section of their current modules for which they have already been paid is, on the part of the developer, deathly silent compared to every other developer here. That's why you get threads labelled like this one is.
  7. Really? How do you navigate? The ARK-5 frequency dial can't honestly be described as functional - especially in an aircraft with no autopilot/wing stabilizer.
  8. Awesome stuff. Huge thanks for these!
  9. This is becoming my impression as well. The Mig-19's ADF dial bug is much the same thing. And the developer silence on the forum regarding these issues speaks volumes. The pace of modelling vs coding at Razbam seems like it should be an unsustainable business model, at least as far as DCS is concerned. This is when the early access system really doesn't work. I'm done patronizing them, but yes, so many people are excited to have an unfinished F-15E, I guess it keeps going like this.
  10. Try manually replacing the MissionScripting.lua in DCS/Scripts with the one in Liberation/Resources/Scripts. Make a backup of the original.
  11. Seems pointless, but adding my voice to this request as well. The way I have dealt with this is: I hope that might change in the future since I have had zero enjoyment return on this purchase so far because of this one module breaking bug which has been ignored for far too long. It's honestly incredible.
  12. Whereas I find it hilarious how many DCS players are so self absorbed in their own fantasy that DCS is anything other than a video game that they try to force others to play it in a way which reinforces their own delusions. I'm more of a 'glass-half-full' kind of person I guess. To each his own.
  13. virulosity, is correct. Having the autostart go pointlessly over switches and buttons which automatically default to where they are supposed be is a bit daft. Gravity on? Check. Earth rotating west to east? Check. Quantum theory still valid? Check. Autostart is useful for people who have a limited playtime because of real life considerations, so dragging it out pointlessly makes no sense. If you're using autostart, then clearly simulating the minutiae of a real startup doesn't matter to you anyway. They certainly don't to me when I use it.
  14. Yes it is a shame. This stupid little bug has essentially ruined the module for me. I like DCS but I don't have enough time to be faffing around struggling to make a dial turn. Despite an included BD campaign (the reason I got the module) I can't possibly recommend it to anyone else, and it has put the brakes on any future Razbam product purchases. A year of not being able to really use this module because of such a simple thing -> I know Razbam gets a lot of vitriolic heat from some people, but clearly sometimes there is a reason behind it.
  15. If the offer still stands, I'd love to know how to reposition either the radio or the mission messages since they always overlap one another and I can't read either. cheers
  16. I modified the whole Caucasus campaign to use with the Viper - haven't started it yet though because I'm working my way through the Georgian War with the Viper at the moment. I am thinking about trying Piercing Fury with the Harrier. I am only part way through it using the Warthog, but I think everything so far would have been doable in the Harrier. The distances aren't too far which is nice, as far as I'm concerned. Awesome campaign too, up there with BDs fantastic work. The one complication is that, right now, Piercing Fury missions really need 2.5.5 to work properly - did the Harrier get many quality of life upgrades with 2.5.6? Can't wait for the Ottoman Courier!
  17. Confirmed that the gain fix still works. I edited the gains from 2.00 down to 0.50. My ears have stopped bleeding.
  18. I have the same problem and the same question, please.
  19. It's a mod to make the Huey sound more life-like, or least more movie-like - whichever, most seem to agree it sounds better and more iconic than the stock sounds.
  20. I think 2.5.6 changed the way sounds are stored and described and broke many, many sound mods. :(
  21. Yep, I'm really, really liking this bird. Honestly, I had zero interest in the F-16 and always thought it was one of the uglier fighters up there. But I tried it during the free trial and since, with the sale and some saved up points, it could be had for less than $30, I decided to get her. The cockpit is one of the best in game - not even considering the view from that glorious bubble. I like the layout, the lighting, the DDI colours, the cockpit colours. It feels right. And it's a significantly more appealing place to spend time in than say ... the bug's cockpit - at least for me. She's a nice mixture of old-school and new tech. I understand that it's not close to being finished yet but, since I had zero expectations to begin with, I'm not bothered at all. I've been using her for A-A only and having blast. I've started playing the F-15C Georgian War campaign, using the Viper instead of the Eagle. Might do the Mirage campaign after that. Playing these missions, looking out at the clouds and scenery, is a very welcome change from being heads down staring at green lines on a dark green screen, surrounded by other green blinky things. So I'm surprised at how much pleasure I have gotten from the F-16C, and very pleased with the purchase. Nice work ED.
  22. Between the turkey and the thunder, you guys are on fire with the fixes this week. Nice work, and thank you.
  23. Thank you! Sorry for not being more clear the first time around. I know it's only a little thing, but it made the Tomcat look a little unloved every time I opened the missions screens. Hated to see it that way. Much appreciated, cheers.
  24. Thanks IronMike! Sorry again for not being more clear the first time around.
  25. I think it's a pretty good idea. After you connect to the basket you wouldn't have to worry about flying perfect formation until the the tanks are full. Not a bad idea for those who aren't professional fighter/attack pilots, can't feel the non-existent G-forces, have a tiny joystick (phrasing!) sitting unergonimically on their desktop, or who realize it's just a game and want to have fun with it.
