first there was "I believe I can fly" ... now with DCS 2.9 I give u ..... "I Believe I can swim backwards"

Since 2.9 has anyone else been getting lots of intermittent big lag spikes ? I know for sure it is MP lag, because the guys I was flying with all got the lag at exactly the same time as me

yes indeed , been waiting on this for 921 days thus far since the question was asked if we wanted this feature hopefully soon ...........

So he for sure did get better since 2.9 update patch on thurs BUT he is still kinda blind sometimes Was flying online this morning and encountered issues several times, I took some screen shots Shot 1 1 x truck and 1 x technical , ran in slowly pointed cursor straight at them and asked him to find them ... found nothing Shot 2 1 x enemy tank in open , same again ran in slowly straight on asked him to find it ... nope

one more isnt going to hurt since ED have failed to even acknowledge the other threads existance

Petrov used to have eyes like a hawk, could spot enemy vechs from behind buildings ......................... now He cannot spot a BMP sitting in the open in plain site from 1km away It is like he went from being coded like superman to being more like Stevie Wonder

@BIGNEWY did u lads re-size Syria map and make it smaller ? I had some template units (100's of them) near the edge of the syria map that have now went "off map" ? null

path finding that works AI who are not super sniper head shotting pilots in BMP's Better AI for ground vechs / troops More Infantry models eg PKM RU gunner, remove the silver surfer dudes, maybe some civilian people models

@BIGNEWY the 3 local instance servers managed to restart correctly at 00:00 last night and at 08:00 this morning the 3 server instances in france restarted correctly at 05:00 this morning so defo something has been fixed, so just being curious what exactly got this working properly again ?

So you fixed the networking problem that was outside your control ? great work 1 server instance worked fine, second one failed with the usual 400 error null

and again approx 59 minutes ago on my local server , all reports I am making are from using the dedicated DCS server trying to login and not the client FYI I think you lads are going to have to add re-try attempts because a one shot approach is just not working reliably anymore Have you network engineers tried to use a packet sniffer to examine the login request packets as they come in ? tried it and it makes no difference, it is a crap shoot if the login works or not @BIGNEWY the master server work that happened a few weeks ago was that to move the master server to its new home in switzerland ? I also noticed when examining the tracert data that a few of the IP's nearest the server are infact Dynamic IP's and not static

if your server is getting a bad data packet and rejecting it as malformed request, then it should be logging an error, the 400 response is being sent from your master server to the clients, the 400 doesnt appear out of the blue Did you ever find out if it attempts this once (login to master server) and gives up or tries multiple times ?

I find it worrying ED are not seeing any errors in the master server log files, for each bad / malformed request that arrives it really should be logging that in the error file

this is from another server I manage that lives in a completely different country (france) There are 3 DCS servers on this box, the first instance crapped out with this message then the other 2 started up correctly without any problems (time between each start-up is 40 seconds)

@BIGNEWY thanks, if it is a single attempt , it could sure do with a if login == fail { wait 10 seconds try and login again } type thing added

@BIGNEWY can you please inquire to the devs does the login attempt once and gives up if it fails, or does it wait and re-try (genuinely curious)

Since a few of us are getting 400 error returned when trying to log on, are you saying the server itself is not logging these 400 being sent to us end users ? @BIGNEWY

I am not running 2FA as this is a dedicated server install trying to log in It would be good if ED shared some basic info , like does the dedicated server try to login once only and then gives up, or does it retry before throwing errors
