  1. No comment.
  2. Not me. Guy / girl / alien on Reddit. Though I've seen Viggen close up I don't remember the air intakes being that huge. A video of me walking through a SAAB J37 "Viggen". Taken in the Aeroseum, Säve, Sweden.
  3. Mission Editor has a setting for "BC-1206" which accepts between 100 - 200 "MHz". Just for amusement I found the "BC-1206". It's a "Detrola". "BC-1206" is an army name I think. Multiple manufacturers made "Detrola's". SETCHELL CARLSON "Detrola". Freq range 195 - 420 KHz. So MHz range is all sorts of wrong. Here's a good clear full schematics, component list and text description. Interesting. It's stamped "SC5860A" (red upside down). https://radionerds.com/index.php/BC-1206
  4. I'm describing what's happening. I did notice the Detrola 200-400 KHz freq range is wrong. I did read about ARA 8 and VHF. On second thought, did D version have ARA 8 at all? I did not check the manual version. Guy on reddit referred to it and I assumed it was for "our" P-47 as well. Mea Culpa. Yet when changing Detrola freq in flight the beeping goes away. Setting "BC-1206" to "100MHz" sets Detrola to 200KHz. Setting "BC-1206" to "111.5MHz" sets Detrola to 209KHz. The Detrola panel is doing something, connected to reality or not. When you say it I remember. Detrola is not, never was, used in outside N. America.
  5. So I made a video. Flying left and right of Kobuleti and then sitting on ground (X field right of Kobuleti). Note, Kobuleti is visible in all three parts of video. -flying left of Kobuleti 21 secs -flying right of Kobuleti 21 secs -sitting on ground right of Kobuleti 49 secs (X field) . Nose pointed right of Kobuleti. What I hear: Flying left of: Short beeps in silent background Flying right of: Short pauses in steady background tone (Not in video, centered gives a steady tone) Sitting on ground X field, nose pointed just right of Kobuleti: This repeating every 17 seconds. 3 times over 49 seconds. What's that supposed to be? ..-.--... If first part "..-" is a "D", shouldn't it be a "U"? Is it supposed to model intermittent reception? But wherever, however I fly around, nowhere can I find a steady repeating "U" or "D". Two pages from manual below video (Pdf 46 and 48).
  6. Left of line up short beeps. Lined up steady tone. Right of line up longer beeps. For the record, not saying exactly like the Bf 109 (need to check more than just cursory). Also, "sabredancer" on hoggit observed the Spitfire has gotten the "A.1271" homing radio in Mission Editor. No controls in game I can find (or possibly understand). Attached mission (.miz) file works for 109 and P-47. On spawn: -P-47, turn on Detrola -Bf 109, switch "Fug16 Homing Switch" from "FT FT" to "Y ZF". then it will start beeping... Changing Detrola freq it'll go away, so tuning works. I'm told: Bf 109 and P-47 nav to kobuleti 111.5.miz
  7. Static objects tied to ship follows it. I just don't know how to create this in Mission Editor.
  8. I'm 95 % of the time in Aerobatics Online Caucasus. Not sure it happened any other server.
  9. Just tried this ("Stennis Group"). I see no static objects on deck in Mission Editor. Though they do show up when running. I expected & wanted to edit static objects on the Stennis deck. Am I supposed to be able to do that?
  10. I have a similar question. Just now began creating templates. This GR video shows how to create a SAM template. Also works for creating a group of ships (that I wanted to do). I could create a group of 4 x Stennis. Beyond that I wanted to place static objects on each Stennis and I couldn't figure out how to that. Further I wonder if it's possible to create templates of templates. Ie place four 4x stennis groups and create a single 16x Stennis template
  11. It's a thing. "Net Sim Post Start", stuck three times in a row just now. (Aerobatics Online) Recycled router once. Then got in twice. (Hoggit Training Server and then Aerobatics Online)
  12. I got in twice today. Earlier and just now. Did not recycle router. Maybe it was something temporary, maybe connected to the patch, I'll find out.
  13. For 40 minutes (yes, I timed it). Intermittent. Patch "2.7.2.7910.1". Clean install. Starting the game and offline, no problem. Have to kill it with Task Master.
  14. P-47 Minor update to the primer position It's true. The Primer handle is no longer upside down. : / Was it screwed on upside down in the real thing the day the artist took notes? Inquiring minds ...
  15. So ... for Kobuleti set AFN-2 to 40.8 and also set channel II to 40.8? Not terribly practical? Ask for "Navigation aid" and then quick like switch from "FT FT" to "Y ZF"? Update. It'll respond in "Y ZF" mode, no switching needed.
  16. It does? Documentation says so? ~ Searched a bit. Wikipedia on "Y-Control for fighters". Using Fug 16ZY Ground Control can find direction and range but not altitude. Though German pilots could, and did, inform Ground Control of their (own) altitude (over the AFN-2 frequency?). Tried and failed to talk to ATC while homing: I set AFN-2 freq st 111.5 (Kobuleti ILS). I know this freq is ahistorical. Tried both channel II set to 40.8 (Kobuleti ATC) and 111.5 (Kobuleti ILS). Couldn't find a way to make Kobuleti respond using Push-To-Talk. ATC doesn't respond while set to homing "Y ZF". They do respond when set to "FT FT". Correction: ATZ does respond in "Y ZF" position (at least it worked for channel 3). Couldn't see homing work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y-Control_for_fighters#Functionality
  17. Yes it works but does it work differently? I definitely don't remember the needle twitching (in sync with radio beeping). I'm not complaining, I think it's great if the Warbirds radio homing is being developed.
  18. II tried homing again after having last tried it ~6 months ago. Didn't recognize the functionality now. Happened to have a film of how it worked then. Made a new film now. Old: No sound. Vertical needle moves to center. Needle not flipping. Lamp turns on just once. New: Vertical needle flips synchronized with pulsed sound. Steady tone when on course. Lamp blinks twice accompanied with sound, first slowly "outer marker"(?), then faster "inner marker"(?). 3:52 long. First 30 sec notice the flipping needle synchronized with sound. Fast forward to 2:20 " "outer marker"(?) and 2:45 "inner marker"(?). Go full screen to see needle, maybe set 720 "high quality". Track attached in this post (accidental crash bug track, it crashed once at least on replay). https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/270121-afn-2/?do=findComment&comment=4674866 Are ED working on improving homing? I'm more into flying than shooting stuff. Would love if homing would work on American & English planes too (Detrola).
  19. Chuck's guide pdf page 56 has the simplest description. -AFN-2 freq must be set in Mission Editor (Kobuleti 111500 and Batumi 110300) -Fug 16ZY switch on -Channel II -Select "Y-ZF" On Mission Editor map there's white lines in rwy extension and ILS frequencies. Kobuleti 111.5 and Batumi 110.3. In game, F10 map, clicking airport will only show ILS frequencies. Bf 109 freq in DCS are settable between 38.4M - 156M. In real life it could be set between 38.4 - 42.4 MHz. A compromise (?), there's no modern beacons using these freq., but by stretching range a little, it's usable in DCS. I don't know how real to life it works. Hmm I don't recognize it exactly (maybe I imagine it worked differently pre 2.7). Distance needle horizontal. Direction needle vertical ... flips to either side depending on left or right of beacon, a beeping tone is heard synchronized with needle flip (steady tone on course). Amplitude of flip proportional to how much off course. Needle not flipping means straight on. The lamp will blink slowly on passing "outer marker"(?) and blink faster passing "inner marker"(?) (just on threshold). Knowing the runway direction I think the trick is to fly runway direction after being centered, ie 70 degrees for Kobuleti 07. Bf 109 homing AFN2.trk
  20. Bugs been around long before 2.7. Plane float above runway (seen once yesterday). Otherwise varying degrees of underground, just a bit of wheels buried to gears fully buried (saw that too yesterday. Wings buried is rare but happens. I assume it's not just me? Not a huge deal, but not right either. If I'd estimate, I'd see this every second time I fly multiplayer. Old pic.
  21. The "Synchronize HOTAS ..." problem definitely started after 2.7. Had it checked for 2 years before 2.7.
  22. Perpetual repair cycle happened today. Just for record. Still happening. Every time punched F8 -> F3 repair got new 170 sec repair cycle. No idea how to recreate. Aerobatics Caucasus Online Server. After hop Senaki -> Kobuleti.
  23. Turning it off prevents "full throttle spawn" offline. Just now MP online I alt tabbed out of DCS and came back to find brakes-locked-idling plane upside down. Getting old.
  24. Same thing wind speeds. So, a systematic user interface dialog bug affecting different parts.
