  1. Well that’s encouraging, I did in fact upgrade my RAM to 32G before I tried MP for the first time the other day. Maybe there’s something in having a crack at my settings and perhaps a different server.
  2. Because I live in Australia, I had to wait a little while to till the Reverb was available. That worked out quite well because the one I got is fantastic! I do have issues with tracking but I know it’s the lack of definition on the wall to the right side of my chair and in time I will fix it easy enough. As for other technical problems, so far nothing at all to worry about. The sweet spot isn’t perfect but it’s clarity is so good that I can see the ball from around a mile and I don’t need to lean in to see the baro setting on the Hornet’s altimeter.
  3. I’m interested in this too, could you maybe provide your specs and settings. I went on ‘Through The Inferno Server’ the other day for the first time, I’ve never done anything MP previously and although I wouldn’t say the performance was atrocious, I was wondering if I might expect an improvement with a change in settings or server perhaps. It looked like I had switched off reprojection at least while I was on the ground. Maybe this server was just too busy, maybe my settings are still to high for MP?
  4. I have read academic reports in the matter that also all seem to indicate that not much research has been done on the matter. From an ethics point of view I wouldn’t imagine much will be done. It’s a little bit like testing safe amounts of alcohol for pregnant women. And no you can’t just test those that self report high usage levels, that doesn’t pass muster either. One paper that I came across recommended no more than half an hour usage even for fully developed eyes followed by fifteen minute breaks to get your focal point moving again. Children’s use was very much frowned upon, is anyone really surprised.
  5. My performance on the Reverb has been fantastic but, WMR is clunky for sure and my first MP experience today was not very auspicious, in short anything to help performance is always a plus.
  6. Thanks very much for that. I’ll have a go. There is chance I’m going to have to go in to work, so I don’t want to put anyone out but hopefully I’ll have time to play. Thanks again.
  7. Hello, I am hoping to be around tomorrow (Wednesday the 25th Australian EST) to go online MP for the first time maybe some time after 9:00 am I am hoping to do so in VR, and I was hoping there might be someone online who can meet me to help get set up as it would be my fist time going MP, not just in DCS but in anything (I don't do gaming, I just fly) I have downloaded and logged in to Teamspeak and Discord and I'm currently operating DCS Stable version, does this sound like a viable prospect?
  8. Sorry, it was in junk, it just wasn't showing up on my iOS outlook. My bad
  9. Yep, not in there either.
  10. Hello, Could someone help me with why it is that I have never revived any notifications? I have always used my standard email address which I have checked but despite subscribing to many threads I have never received an email from DCS forums. I’d be happy to accept that it’s something silly I have or haven’t done but I’m not sure what. Kind regards, Willie.
  11. 1. Fair enough and good to hear. 2. You and I had a conversation about the Reverb before it was in widespread use related to the pushing power required for something like a Reverb, turns out you were better informed than I and indeed I’m very happy with performance despite the marginalised whingeing of “DCS not being optimised” nothings perfect but DCS and the Reverb Rock! I Would wonder about the GPU required to power the sort of headset you’re talking about, surely even a 100 degree FOV with that sort of PPD would be requiring SLI? Great to see lots coming out over the medium term and lots of new toys coming out, if I wasn’t on a layover though I wouldn’t be talking about how much I love the Reverb, I’d just be flying with it! After I cook the dinner, take out the rubbish and put the kids to bed of course :D
  12. For my money, the Reverb is good enough resolution, I would rather somebody improve the lateral FOV (proportional rebase in resolution rather than to the square) additionally, the lenses could maybe be worked in the improve the sweet spot and take it beyond 30 degrees as the next step. Not saying an improvement in the resolution wouldn’t be a great advantage but perhaps their is higher priorities, thoughts?
  13. I agree, the PG 2 vs 2 Hornet versus Mig mission is great practice at least for basics, you can get the Migs but you’ll need to manage your energy into the turn otherwise they’ll be all over you.
  14. Thanks, thought you would be on to it.
  15. During the F18, Case III Mission in the PG I make my inbound calls which are all responded to and the carrier lighting will not come on except for the IFLOLS. I tried a search and could not find anyone else with the problem.
  16. Hey thanks for that, I’ll give something similar a go. I was going to ask what everyone else is doin, cheers!
  17. Get a Reverb!
  18. Wormeaten, ease up on the language mate. Not on this forum hey.
  19. Yep, definitely the Achilles heel of the Reverb. I don’t have information on exactly which style of light/lighting is best but even with a well lit room I sometimes have problems while my Reverb is looking at a wall on my right even though I’ve put up a lot of contrasting colours and the like. I’ll get there with head tracking but I’m not there yet. The head tilt tracking that does work well for you is based upon the HMD’s internal Gyros. Incidentally they use the same principle as an inertial navigation system/ ring laser gyro.
  20. I'd be interested too.
  21. Something else that may not have been mentioned yet. I didn’t worry about AAR until I had VR setup. I find it is much easier in VR with 3D and all the other things that can provide depth perception.
  22. For my money, forget about the axis curves and get yourself a smooth stick. Apart from the fact that it can cause you other problems in other areas, and no real plane has this curve, if you will. I’ve got a Warthog with a 10cm extension. Before I got the extension the stiction from the neutral position was too much to make the tiny nuanced corrections you need when aerial refuelling. The extra moment arm is what makes all the difference, return to neutral resistance is less than half and very small discrete movements can be made just like IRL. The 10cm extension did the trick. I believe also that one of the cheaper Saitek sticks has a very smooth stick with only small return to centre force that is easily resisted while making small manoeuvres.
  23. I find the Reverb fantastic for what it's worth and although I have not yet looked in to what my IPD is (perhaps that needs to be addressed) I do find the sweet spot, at least for now a bit narrow. When I say that, I am simply comparing the crystal clear resolution of the central 15-20 degrees with the rest. The rest is still very good but this difference is noticeable. The only other MHD i've had was the Rift CV-1, and this bad boy is waaaay better than that.
  24. Not at this stage unfortunately. Although I am not fully appraised of why it doesn’t integrate, but not at this stage. Apparently ED is doing some work with Captoglove which may be the next best thing but at this point it doesn’t yet work with DCS either, at least not in a consumer release version.
  25. You might have figured it out by now but if you move the blue arrow further right you’ll see a whit circle (not a white arrow) appear, you can use that whit circle as the comms select cursor.
