Guys this is like the 10th repeated topic posting in the last 24 hours that i've seen its getting painful. Yep its becoming painful recently i dont think people bother to read the subject posts prior to posting their own - annoy as just clogs up the forums and wastes time. Seen it happen loads recently with bug reporting. Agree with the OP - few bugs to solve but big improvement -

Yep same for me in the modules listed and also the Harrier......most annoying in VR.. -
Have you turned on the power button as that will enable the pod to switch on - its SPJ on the panel on the RHS - it doesn't switch on by default. There was reference in the patch notes last friday.

Would have to set cruise profle high - depends on which server. However DDCS base defences i guess your referring too (given ive seen you online there) would not be able to reload in time. That said if LD10's where fired in first, then the AKG's then there would be no base defence to consider. With 3 JF17's that is 12 LD10's and 6 802AKG's - yea not much would survive. The terminal guidance you get better with practice. I was running testing at the weekend and rarely missed the cc's its pretty easy its going to be a real problem for servers that require CC's strategically to spawn crate's for the ground warfare unit creation slinging. The 802's can also be sent to an area to use as recon. Moving ground units are more demanding obviously to hit....

New cockpit - default head position in VR

Yep seems good to me - IN VR not sure if many people are aware of this however if you double click your mouse and use the scroll wheel it will horizontally move you forward and back within the pit. When you hit recenter view in VR it will then recenter to this position. I tend to use it quite a bit particular in the 14 as like to get a wider view than nose being stuck to the hud! Also helpful during some manual start ups where have to get at switched at the back, say A10 and harrier spring to mind. -
Ok so problem that i can't see listed. In VR the inboard and outboard selector lights show yellow in left eye and green in the other depending on viewing angle. I have checked with 2 other different DCS players so a mix of occulus rift S, rift and vive pro. All the same issue. Also the auto turn, air target button quadrant the light selection level is way too low. Thanks on the upside, the new cockpit looks great in VR !!

Bit like the 802akg which in the latest patch will now drop a Command Centre - so from 220km , take off mozdok launch over the airfield and strike Vaziani and kill units there. Dont even need to know where the unit is as can use the terminal guidance to steer and kill. The JF17 which is a great module unfortunately for multiplayer is causing balance issues on certain AG capability. But back to the thread hopefully they will sort out so they start getting intercepted given their long flight profile re LD10's.

lol yep they have ruined some multiplayer servers as the LD10's rarely miss - also nothing intercepts them except for the occasional Tor but they have to be set on red it would seem and even then even with 6 tors 9 times out of 10 - 3 of the 4 will get through. Have caused balance issues as they are super more effective than the Harm. All i can say is if you enjoy just getting easy kills fill your boots. Way to easy for my liking.

if you want realism then the real difference apart from quantity tasking is actually the tanker will fly at the speed for your type not just a set speed in the mission editor. Currently its the wrong way around, aircraft has to fly for tanker airspeed which is not always the most stable for the aircraft attempting to tank. Each aircraft has a refuel speed guideline and the tanker will fly at this airspeed at an altitude that has the cleanest air. Wish they would make it so that the basket cannot come though the aircraft - be great when damage model is complete. Also fuel flow rates, i've not noticed a difference between tanking from a boom or a basket, the latter should be slower. Current position for ready pre contact is wrong. This could be coded to be on the port side in the form up area used for trim, nose cold, master arm off, flaps up and checked, speedbrake off, probe out and locked. A2A refueling is currently to easy with no emphasis required on safety re breakaway, not punished for pushing a bad approach.

Also by using voice attack you can create a custom profile - by entering in a few keybinds in setup - i have everything on voice attack now down to even bring up the Tpod on the right MFD, switching it on, ccd/flir, black white, narrow / wide, lazer fire etc as well as using the SS function - handy sometimes if looking at something else in the cockpit or out the window. the best thing i ever bought for DCS was voice attack

+1000 Don't be lazy and read the post's first, otherwise to blatantly just post is quite ignorant and wastes time reading the same thing over and over ( which seen a lot of recently with people reporting bugs, harrier lighting and invisible KC130 aircraft to name two that have already been reported yet just bounce into the forums and start a new topic on the same thing - wasting peoples time). Also not quite sure why people are asking constantly for an update and will it be out today, its a pointless waste of your energy. Things are broken but asking multiple times and pressuring isn't going to help the situation for anyone. Personally i would not ask until saturday, give them the week at least lol (and yes its painful as MP is broken along with many other aspects but still). Lastly great job on the new lighting textures never seen the Georgia or PG look so realistic at sun down / sunrise (pity is affected cockpit maps and NVG but im sure that will be sorted). Credit where credit is due.

I'd also say that gamma over 1.2 you over saturate and wash out on Rift S

ok so at flight level 200 through to 400 it seems like the sky around dawn and dusk is very realistic - combined with the city lights now with the correct orange warm glow. I've never seen DCS look so much like reality (VR Rift S - gamma set to 1.0). For example on clear sky's that dark purple you get as the sun goes down to the East is really, really well done as it turns through to deeper purple and eventually night. The sky colour also in this transition period is very realistic with the clear cobalt blue with the star's shining though. I was also impressed with sun position in that as you climb the sun comes up and vice versa which affects the light level around you. It's the best i've seen in any game, flight sim or not. Whilst this patch has caused chaos in some aspects and has been a nightmare the artwork for the sky is very well done and ED should be proud of what they have achieved. Anyone that think it doesn't look right - overly colourful - suggest you watch the next sunset from 20 to 40,000 feet as it looks alot different than down on the ground.

note if your in the back seat switching the WCS switch to the OFF position my framerates jump from 15 back to 40 in the RIft S. Clearly it is something with the TID/DDI -
Sorry re FPS - hard for me as had to disable the VR mod which cuts the field of view cut down which i don't know why ED do not do themselves as can only look at the FOV at any one time to process around that is a waste of GPU- and lazy to be fair not to include it. Anyway that aside, yes from when i didn't have it enabled (which had to for full screen screenshots) then there is a slight downturn, nothing massive however for me. That said i made the mistake of turning on the new feature of SSLR or whatever it is - do not do this in VR i dropped from 40fps to 24 ish - literally kills it. Biggest hit i've found which has been logged but is a major problem was testing out the 14 to basically have a fly around and eat some miles up quickly on the PG map. Jumping into the rio pit for some reason i get a 50% drop in frame rates which makes the rio position untenable (not been able to test multiplayer because of the 2.5.6 problems however if its bad SP it's generally worse MP).

Rift S user - defo gamma set to 1 for both day and night. Anything more just washes it out. Look's brilliant its like new maps to be fair in low light conditions, also during the day the sky seems a more natural blue colour. Anyway just need to kill the many many problems that 2.5.6 has created and then can actually enjoy it (multiplayer)

You'll find that most experienced player's that have been part of DCS for a long long time don't go near Steam as like to get the download directly and not have steam software running (Particularly VR users). So yes 500 players is a total nonsense and not sure why its even been mentioned as delusional. That aside to release SDK would be a huge mistake and possibly open up DCS to more exploits in the multiplayer arena - one which i certainly wouldn't want. Bad enough that people can turn their trees off or down when should be server enforced!
