By no means an expert, but is anything overclocked ? People always leave this information out for some reason. I'm not saying 'go to stock settings because overclocking is bad bla bla" (my 8700k is @5,2 ghz , 27/7) but IF overclocked, try to lower your OC a little bit first. Stress tests are (in my experience) not a terribly reliable stability test.

Question regarding differences between 54A and 54C
Csgo GE oh yeah replied to nighthawk2174's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You should be careful because it seems you're doing the exact same thing. (theory crafting) You have no idea what weapon builders in the 80's were thinking, and you can't just 'assume' the phoenix worked exactly the same as an amraam because there is no '"giant abort button" . -
If you want better graphics and VR and all that nice stuff, you can't expect the system requirements to stay the same as they were 10 years ago. It's good that ED updated the recommended system requirements i guess. It's much more realistic now. Most important now is that DCS is going to evolve and starts to make better use of those system resources.

well crap, i was refueling and pressing F6 to laugh at the amraams. Saw pylons dropping and assumed it was from an F18. Are you telling me the F18 can NOT drop it's pylons ? -
Well, see title

Question regarding differences between 54A and 54C
Csgo GE oh yeah replied to nighthawk2174's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yeah i'm sure you do . Are you serious though ? The chaff is already 'guessed' on a bases of "it was probably something like the amraam C" model. What exactly are you after ? -

75hz vs 144hz with 1440p?
Csgo GE oh yeah replied to Havremonster's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
oh god yes. Even if you don't get 75 fps by the way. Not even mentioning games were you get 100fps+ . The difference will be quite noticable in smoothness. I mean, 75hz is not as bad as 60 but it's still ****. -
Timestamped for conclusion :

Really ?! Oh that is very problematic , this means that missile is nowhere near where i think it is when looking at my RWR ? Could that also be why longer range shots are deemed more effective by some , because people are just notching the missile wrong because desync ? One more question though, this tacview is from the servers point of view. It's downloaded, does that matter any in terms of client/perspective ? I would guess so (it's multiplayer @coxy)
-
Right, so what i mean is this : What happens if a missile is in the air but isn't guided anymore by the aircraft ... Does it always automatically go active at some point ? And also : Once it does go active, does the missile start 'scanning' for targets in that 50-60 degree range ? The reason i ask is because i'm watching tacviews, and notice that missiles that have been quite some time without any guidance, will 'turn on' and find targets almost 90 degrees of their nose. I seem to remember reading that the phoenix for instance, NEEDS a command from the aircraft to go active , but it appears that all missiles just go active no matter what. How is it supposed to work for amraam and phoenix ?
-
You say "in theory it's not cheating" yourself, so i'm sure you know it's always been a gray area. It depends on what you use it for. I have not a clue what you mean by "DCS police" , but if you use auto-hotkey for something you can't do physically , or can't do reliably with your own abilities, some might consider it cheating. Anyone have anything about the seekerhead range of the amraam and phoenix respectively ?

I see I'm still waiting to be able to control the colors/saturation of my VR headset with nvidia control panel.
-
None of the nvidia control panel settings do anything for VR i think. In any game. On top of that, i don't think any of the nvidia settings do anything for DCS also in 2d. Are you sure you're not seeing placebo effects in 2d ?
