  1. I would argue: we don't - as long as we don't know who does what at ED all our opionions are effectively worthless, yours and mine. Theres not much to do: voice our opinions, which we did, maybe stop buying EA / continue buying EA (which we will do or do not) and wait for stuff to be finished.
  2. Because why would you want to program that in tandem when it's the same underlying framework? You don't especially NEED another guy on that two finish it for both birds effectively.
  3. And then they would complain that only a select few can test it out and that modules take years to come out on the market boo hoo hoo
  4. Because everything they said we would receive in the Hornet is on track. Yes, it might take longer than expected, but that's pretty subjective - there have been no promises on a timeframe or a timeline. And the rest is logical deduction: both radars share a lot of underlying systems commonality (as do basically all (western) pulse-doppler radars of the era). There is literally no reason to NOT believe that they reworked that thing from the ground up to be applicable for later modules too. That's also why the Viper is getting it relatively faster than the Hornet: during the Hornets EA the underlying rework has been started, and Viper is benefitting from that now. The Hornet on the other hand will benefit from the actual *implementation* into the Viper. Easy as that.
  5. Both get the same love, it's not as if the Viper will get TWS and the Hornet will have to wait another year. Like being explained multiple time: it's a basic, underlying framework that will benefit radar implementation for ANY existing and future module in the long run. It is absolutely, 100% irrelevant which one is getting it a week early or two.
  6. That will benefit all - you can rest easy, the EA-crowd can rest easy too, because there's less whine. Win-win.
  7. Yeah, honestly. F-18 has gotten minor and major updates in EVERY OB patch over the last months. It has gotten new weapons, it is getting new weapons as we speak. So obviously nothing is amiss. At no point has EVER been promised that we would get certain features at a certain date, only THAT we would get them in the end. And that we do. At no point has there been said "EA period will be x months". You all knew that beforehand. If that's not ok for you - fine: lessons learned. Don't buy EA anymore. Full stop.
  8. Without money: no planes, that also means "no Hornet". Easy as that. Both birds will get TWS shortly. I don't get why the sequence in which they get is important. Yes, I also own the Hornet for a year now, no I'm fine with the development. @Nineline: thanks for being as transparent as you guys are in the last months. Please don't let the naysayers discourage you or the team - a lot of people get the necessities of business and software development, we're rooting for you.
  9. You should fly it again :) Pic as of latest Chuck's guide.
  10. Enemies are always diamonds with an extra caret on top and friendlies have FRIEND superimposed. Like, how can that be not easy to tell?
  11. I wonder how people will react once they find out that there's no easy friend-or-foe HUD indication like in the Hornet. :D
  12. Ah I see! Hope someone with a clue about compatibility can chime in on that. Good luck!
  13. At this point I have to wonder why you would want to use that old and deprecated software in the first place? Just get DCS World, it's free to begin with after all.
  14. Because more +1s make them respond faster? Okay!
  15. Like, do you guys think afer FIVE pages of +1 and confirmed that it does need more of that?
  16. Why is the UHF radio TX2 in the Viper anyway? Shouldn't it be the other way round?
  17. When it's done.
  18. Well yes, of course.
  19. No. The ENABLE press commands something else (namely weapon launch mode, mostly changeing SLAVE / BSITE). All target management in the Viper is performed through the TMS, or target management switch (d'oh). Generally TMS up locks something, TMS down undesignates.
  20. It's not yet implemented, it will work through the S-J button on the SMS page.
  21. They are indeed not, but from what I know the Navy never used them on centerline being deployed on a carrier, since it accumulates to much dirt and grime from the cat launch, which is why mostly the USMC used that during land-based sorties.
  22. Nope: when you create a mission, it is being saved as a .miz file. You can open that with an archiver like 7zip and add a kneeboard folder there.
  23. Nope, RADAR CURSOR / ENABLE commands slew. DMS commands SOI, among other things.
