  1. Hey, if that is the case, would it be possible to change my order into one with a shirt?
  2. They have so far maintained that the F-14 will become available this year, so I'm assuming preorders to start shortly.
  3. Confirming the F10 map is broken. Symbols for airstrips, units etc seem to float and will move as you pan or zoom. I thought at first it may be related to my using VR, but since others have posted with dual monitor setups etc, it seems the last patch broke the map altogether. E: Actually nevermind, the new build released at some point today fixed the issue for me. Ninja patch is best patch.
  4. You must construct additional pylons! I for one am looking forward to crashing my first F-14 into the Forrestal's stern.
  5. I actually tried this out in the BVR AIM-120 instant action scenario yesterday and it was a mix of BLUFOR/REDFOR missile soup.
  6. This makes me wonder whether the trim logic should also automatically trim out asymmetric loads.
  7. So my having issues keeping the nose from rising to 30° after dropping gear and flaps is an issue with the FM? If not, how is the pilot supposed to bleed off the excess speed while keeping the plane from rocketing up 500 ft before he has to turn for final approach?
  8. If it were a gfx issue, it would always be present, not just when you're using VR zoom.
  9. We know the R-27 missile family's shape, and wind tunnel test software has become pretty accurate nowadays. On account of that, I think eventually there will be an update for all missiles currently implemented in DCS.
  10. Aircrew will stay well the hell clear of your jet's exhaust. You're meant to go to full power at touchdown in case you don't trap and bolter so you don't crash into the water. Also, if you trap and you don>'t throttle up, you will be 'idle in the wires' as far as the LSO is concerned. You will unhookl once you ease off the throttle by the wires pulling you rearwards and eventualy causing them to slip off your hook once tension is released. Basically, you touchdown, trap, go to full throttle, stop, go to idle power, raise the hook, get dragged rearwards, unhook, taxi away from the landing area.
  11. Aren't all missiles affected by these issues? Once updated, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people had to rethink their approach to air combat.
  12. I think the same may be true for the HUD as well.
  13. Isn't TAWS the generic term?
  14. O microwaver of ground crews, let me partake in your knowledge!
  15. You're forgetting that accidental case of shooting oneself down was a certification flight for the rearmost fuselage station. "The 7E2’s casing, however, was slightly thinner than the 7F’s. The missile launcher feet contained a smaller charge because Raytheon’s engineers thought a larger charge might fire the feet with enough force to break the missile casing." To extrapolate from this test - to my knowledge the only occasion where a plane has shot itself down with its own missile - is more than dubious in my opinion.
  16. Yes, but there's actually a vaguely rectangular area 1 cm high around the AOA index that's notably darker than the areas above and below it, which should not be there with the Hornet's two part reflector plate.
  17. What do you mean? I can't log into the game right now, could you upload a screenshot?
  18. Eh, it would slow down to a virtual standstill within a few seconds, but from my understanding, it's actually meant to extend your plane's radar reflection to the point the missile going for the middle will fly past to your tail.
  19. Well, from my understanding chaff is basically a load of fibers just floating in the wind...it should stay airborne and fairly concentrated for several minutes. :S
  20. Contrary to popular belief, glass isn't actually without color. :P Most glass I've seen has a green hue, but there are some brands of Duran lab grade glass that are actually gray.
  21. Cannot confirm. It worked fine for me earlier today.
  22. Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks.
  23. I would be interested in why the direct approach seems to be unusual. Do you know the reason for it?
  24. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
