  1. Boresight (BORE) mode: 1. When HMCS (Helmet -Mounted Cueing System) is not powered, the missile seeker looks ahead on the aircraft bore line. This is called a mad dog shot since the missile flies ballistically out to a point without guidance, then turns on its onboard radar and locks up and flies to the first radar contact it finds. It has no IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) system, so it doesn't distinguish between a friendly or a hostile. 2. When HMCS is powered, the seeker is boresighted to the Helmet Mounted Display’s reticle. However, the missile is limited to the restrictions of the FCR’s field of view.
  2. So actually for the boresight mode, FCR is not in use, and you can only look and lock something through the seeker (I called it a radar) on the missile it self, right?
  3. Will check it out tomorrow.
  4. Again, same thing, left the game in main menu, and after some time, wanted to close it, and same thing happened, I had to close it by force. 2023-04-12 18:22:09.262 INFO APP (Main): Screen: MissionEditor 2023-04-12 18:22:12.067 ERROR LUA-TERRAIN (Main): getRunwayHeading: not found runways for './Mods/terrains/Syria/AirfieldsTaxiways/Naqoura.rn4' airdrome 2023-04-12 18:22:12.067 ERROR LUA-TERRAIN (Main): getRunwayHeading: not found runways for './Mods/terrains/Syria/AirfieldsTaxiways/Kharab_Ishk.rn4' airdrome 2023-04-12 18:22:12.067 ERROR LUA-TERRAIN (Main): getRunwayHeading: not found runways for './Mods/terrains/Syria/AirfieldsTaxiways/At_Tanf.rn4' airdrome 2023-04-12 18:22:12.253 INFO APP (Main): Screen: MainMenu 2023-04-12 18:22:13.938 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2023-04-12 20:06:52.378 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [1920, 1080] 2023-04-12 20:06:55.627 INFO APP (Main): Screen: Settings 2023-04-12 20:06:57.182 INFO APP (Main): Screen: MainMenu 2023-04-12 20:06:59.086 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2023-04-12 20:07:07.840 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [1920, 1080] 2023-04-12 20:07:08.827 INFO EDCORE (Main): (dDispatcher)enterToState_:5 2023-04-12 20:07:08.832 INFO APP (Main): application shutdown 2023-04-12 20:07:09.333 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 0 2023-04-12 20:07:09.336 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 1 2023-04-12 20:07:09.336 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 2 2023-04-12 20:07:09.474 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 3 2023-04-12 20:07:09.592 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 4 2023-04-12 20:07:09.610 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 5 2023-04-12 20:07:09.613 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 6 2023-04-12 20:07:09.617 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 7 2023-04-12 20:07:09.617 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 8 2023-04-12 20:07:09.621 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 9 2023-04-12 20:07:09.621 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 10 2023-04-12 20:07:09.622 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 11 2023-04-12 20:07:09.622 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 12 2023-04-12 20:07:09.623 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13 2023-04-12 20:07:10.578 INFO TERRAIN (Main): lSystem::exit() 2023-04-12 20:07:10.588 INFO TERRAIN (Main): lSystem::CleanScenes() 2023-04-12 20:07:30.229 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [1920, 1080] 2023-04-12 20:07:30.241 WARNING SCENE (11860): Scene was removed with 4 alive objects 2023-04-12 20:07:30.544 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2023-04-12 20:07:30.545 INFO EDCORE (Main): try to write dump information 2023-04-12 20:07:30.552 INFO EDCORE (Main): # -------------- 20230412-200731 -------------- 2023-04-12 20:07:30.553 INFO EDCORE (Main): DCS/2.8.3.38090 (x86_64; 5. Is it the same sluggish feeling for pitch and roll? I have VKB Gunfigjter MkIII Ultimate joystick, with no curves, and all it feels pretty fine and natural to me.
  6. Sorry I don't have a clue. Does it mean that the DCS app shrinked to the size of 0, 0? Maybe when I pressed Close command, it did that? I just checked into the log file which was inside the zip file (where crash and dump files are saved as well), and there is a lot of more stuff. This is the one, search for the our, and what is after is : 17:51:37.643 (there is a lot more info). dcs.20230410-191532.log
  7. As you said, I stopped flying, then left the game in main menu, and doing other stuff on PC. Then after 85min I wanted to close it, and this error occurred. Game didn't even close by it self.
  8. TGP for me please.
  9. If you want to ground refuel, make sure you have less then 2400lbs onboard, and do not forget to open air refueling door (knob on left side panel). It does the trick.
  10. I got out of memory exception: "Out of memory in ed_aligned_malloc for 40000 bytes.". I already talked with @Special K on Discord, but since I couldn't send the crashdump over DCS dialog, I am pasting it here. dcs.log dcs.log-20230410-191532.zip
  11. Did you overclock your GPU? Issue is: DX11BACKEND More about this similar issue here.
  12. As far as I understand, boresight mode should work without of use FCR, and you slew the radar on the AMRAAM on the target. This way adversary wouldn't even know it has been locked (same as Fox2 missiles). This works, but works the same way also with Slave mode. So you can turn the radar off completely, and when selecting AMRAAM missile so ASEC (Allowable Steering Error Circle) is visible on the HUD (circle appears) and if the bandit is inside of it, you can release the AMRAAM. Cannot get it to work with JHMCS, but it should I suppose. -- Btw, boresight mode works for the Sidewinder (aim-9), where you get that diamond symbology on the hud or jhmcs (it means it slews the seeker head on the missile to that diamond). But it does not for AMRAAM aim-120, or am I missing something.
  13. I'm curious if this has been considered yet? He has made some good and relevant points, and would be awesome if the devs would take it into account.
  14. Callsign..............: Skywalker22 Aircraft...............: F-16C (TGP)
  15. thx for the intel. So you think when we get DTC we will also be able to choose wha to show on HSD?
  16. How can I tell which steerpoint is selected from such map? Impossible to visually see the white dot of selected steerpoint.
  17. Checking up here, did ED take a look about this missing piece of F-16 and how gun reticle is "erasing" stuff on the HUD while going over (except the gun funnel). In this upper video you can clearly see towards the end of it (at 1:50min).null
  18. Sorry, wrong term, thats only the mode (auto) and not autopilot.
  19. You have to press the button M-SEL (0) on the ICP, to engage the auto (mode). But you also have to switch the Autopilot Roll Mode Switch down (to STRG SEL position) and also the switch on the right Autopilot Pitch Mode - to engage the level hold or pitch hold (what ever you want). Check here the short video I did: https://youtu.be/wxrATjsUNis
  20. @OnReTech Will there be any signs of life on this awesome looking map, something that moving (except us)? Things like trains, planes or commercial airports, maybe some balloons (an idea! never seen in DCS), maybe some other stuff? MSFS is an inspiration for things like that. And as someone else mentioned, Cairo's specialty are the green colored lights on mosques.
  21. In a way, we can be happy, right? So we as F-16 pilots get the best and the fastest I will take what ED will do, there is just nothing much we can do about it - its their game, and their choice. And btw, they listen us quite a lot, so we will be heard, no worries.
  22. uff, I completely forgot about that too. thx so much.
  23. Taking the point for aligning mavericks, how far away it has to be? You guys are just saying "far away" or, "not too close" - but does anyone know what's the actual distance number? One more thing to note: taking the spot for boresighting few nm away, you can see s(h)it on the maverick Weapon display, since it is so low poly. Is there any way, to make the image better? It used to be ways better in the past.
  24. I would rather have all 3 pods Because all three have been used on Block 50 by USAF.
