Are u Shiny? At 3:06 is was only Shiny vs some Mig-29S. And you both shot cca 24nm away from each other. For more help: - you can do a video and put it on YT from that flight, all online flights are saved automatically. Check your replay section. - upload the track on some website and paste the link here.

Maybe F/A-18 was doing defensive maneuvers or something, that's why your radar couldn't pick it up. Please attach the track file here, or at least a tacview.

Aerodrome Data and Frequencies - Updated 26 October 2025
skywalker22 replied to Minsky's topic in General Tutorials
I have a complaint: there is too much of pages, because of too much information per page. Previous version was better, and will keep to it. I hope you do the "lite" version as well. -
Damn, you are faster then google it self, 10 seconds. Anyway, blacking out has nothing to do with this topic here.

not for the 1st time joining any server, but after trying to join for the 2nd time. And this was the same each game launch. This is how it used to be cca almost a year ago, when they tighten up IC rules. But I suppose that it is the same right now.
-
Last time I tried it didn't pass the IC (in multiplayer). That's why I deleted it.

Here is the video I promised of my test from yesterday, how can our F-16C sustain the Gs at 450 knots:
-
I'm talking about sustained Gs. I would say our F-16 looks pretty fine regarding speed bleed rate.
-
I did some test yesterday, will also upload the video I did from it. So, circuling around @5000ft AGL, started with 2000lbs of fuel, no pylons installed: speed at 450knots, I could sustain 8-5G to 9G constantly. When fuel dropped under 500lbs, I could easily hold 9+ Gs. Interesting is, when speed drops bellow 450 knots, Gs also drops (430=7,5G), if going faster, Gs rises (480=9,2+G). 450 is lets say, somehow the border that separates Gs.

No. I got used to change each time, and so will you - at least until we get DTC (data transfer cartridge). Then we will be able to pre-plan in mission editor (I suppose).

Something to note: boresighting is only necessary in case if using Mavericks in Pre-Planned mode. If using them in Boresight or Visual mode there is no need of boresighting. In short, boresighting is necessary when using a TGP, to make sure that both, TGP and Maverick seeker head are pointing at the same target.
-
Agreed, I also have never seen any footage of pulling 9g for over 2 or 3 seconds (except for the Gripen, which Mover reviewed, and he was surprised about pilot's and jet's capabilities), pulling +9g for 10 seconds and even on -2g. So based on that video, I doubt how many times in his life he had ever reached 9g.
-
Like he doesn't have memories how it used to be, right? LOL And he also tried the same thing at the deck, see my previous post. He sounds very convinced that the speed bleeding is way too fast.

Another proof1 and proof2 of under performing. But I have one question, if current version of F-16 in DCS is really underperforming, there is no aircraft out there that could beat it in a 2-circle fight. If ED one day make it right, that would make F-16 ever better 2-circle fighter then it is now. No aircraft would stand a chance. Which at the same time puts all other planes currently in DCS under question about their current implementation as well. Maybe all underperform?

For ILS, Course field (CRS on ICP/ILS(1) button) requires Magnetic heading. For getting Tacan and Heading info of airports which support ILS, it is best to use these kneeboard, simply the best and simple:

We can all agree that aerial refueling, specially with F-16 is pretty hard, specially because its difficult to keep the plane in one specific spot at all times during refueling process. The main problem is in the boom of KC-135 plane it self, which does not do it's job like it does it in real life. Mover, RL F-16 block 30 and 40 pilot, well explained it here. As far as I read, but it's also logical, the boom make some kind of connection between two aircrafts, so they both move almost as one (the bigger, the heavier leads the way of course). The boom should give the pilot a feeling when the contact is made in some resistance way, like you softly hit something and stopped there, which should be continuing throughout the refueling process, which also means the plane should not be responsive on user inputs same way as it does when AAR are closed, just because of this connection-thing with the tanker, which prevents normal movements of the F-16. There is another issue with the boom where it can be seen the lack of proper physics, it can just go through the plane instead of bouncing off on impact, and it is not possible to rip or break it off, like you can do IRL if you're not gentle.
-
And the boom operator should call the distance while plane is approaching to the tanker like (40 feet, 30, 20, 15, 10).
-
hehe, so he really was unfortunate, picked the only one which had the broken AI. I hope he does answer, it would be in a huge help I suppose. To have a RL pilot helping with a sim - like a dream come true for all of us, and specially for ED team. Thumbs up. Btw, since you are here, can you check it out, if there might be any work done on the boom, to be more like he is describing? Now there is really no resistance from it, you can fly around like there is nothing connected to the f-16. Just curious, it would meant a tone to us all. -- I had to laugh, I have the same unfortune as he did (sim and RL), whenever I come to pre-contact, the tanker starts turning
-
in RL the boom actually represents an obstacle, a kind of physical resistance, we can say a stick on which the plane is caught on, which we don't have in DCS unfortunately (yet). Anyway, kind of a nice review, but it looks he got a bit rusty Although I would like to believe him about the bleed rate, he seems to be very sure and convincing, that the real F-16 (his block 30 and 40 which he used to fly) bled way less then ours here. Any comments on this?

reported Snowplow not working as intended.

Slewing TGP from outside view is a known issue, ED knows about it.
