  1. *grabs DCS-brand popcorn*
  2. I think objects are much closer to you when you're driving than when flying.
  3. You can alt-tab to change Window's focus to another application and then use the mouse there.
  4. Without too many spoilers, what is the range of tasking that one can expect during this campaign? Is it overwhelmingly SEAD? (Unfortunately one of my least favorite type of task ) Even if so, I am interested nonetheless due to the amazing quality of your past campaigns that I've played through. And also the lack of other content for the F-16
  5. Oh, no. Sorry to hear that! One thing I'm disappointed about is the quality control of the G2. I've had numerous issues and even replaced one complete headset at one point. Sorry
  6. I've had two cables go bad, so that is worth trying if you can get your hands on a replacement. It shouldn't be a RAM issue.
  7. Don. Hope that wherever you are, you are flying high and are in peaceful, friendly skies.
  8. Oh, really? I thought it was just a bug! I'll have to look at the settings.
  9. I've noticed the same. After just starting DCS, I move them to their max across all axes, and sometimes notice the first pass that the plane's controls hit their max at about half the movement of the peripheral. But after that it "registers" the full travel of the pedals and brakes and is fine for the rest of the session. Also make sure none of your axes are double-bound to more than one input.
  10. Yes, use your right hand. If it's something that requires a lot of heads down time, set altitude hold or whatever the specific plane has.
  11. Yeah, I'm sure. Since we're so demanding of realism, developers like ED won't attempt an approximation. For less authentic versions, I'm sure that you can find some shovelware on MSFS or War Thunder or the like. For me personally though, realistic versions of warbirds or cold war-era planes are more preferable, so that status quo is ok by me. The feel of flight in those aircraft are much better than the newer fly by wire airframes. To each their own, but I feel that it's more visceral to be sitting in a Tomcat or Mosquito than it is to be in a 'server rack with a pilot' like the F-18. (Though to be fair I do learn those modules too just due to the campaigns that are available for them)
  12. Ok, please let me know if you happen to remember
  13. Yes, but that's typically referred to as a DDoS attack.
  14. You know they are both coming, correct? What else do you need them to say? This newsletter told us things that we didn't know about. ED and partners put media and videos out there for the Eagle and people complain that it was done too early and that they still have to wait. They delayed the pre order and people complain, then they allow for pre orders then people complain that there's no solid release date for the module so they "took their money" too early. It must be difficult to have to cater to the vocal people here - I don't envy EDs PR people at all.
  15. Weird. I have a G2 and a 4080 and SteamVR gets me better performance. I can't even run MSFS that well due to its OpenXR requirement. In DCS and MSFS I get bad stuttery double vision with OpenXR, even down to 70% resolution. In Steam I can run it at 90%. Any PMs that can help me would be appreciated, to keep this thread uncluttered!
  16. Here are some pictures - hopefully this is what you need.
  17. Hmm... not sure! Do you know how I can tell? Let me know if there are extra pictures I can send if it will help you.
  18. How close is this? I have the Viper but haven't learned it. Is it worth starting training now or is the campaign still in the distant future? I know there are a couple campaigns in the works (@baltic_dragon and @Reflected both have a Viper campaign upcoming I believe) but am unsure of the status of any of them.
  19. I understand, thank you. I've flown real planes that have an altitude hold function that don't have any INS at all, but I'm sure the safeguards are not as fully-featured as jet fighters, and also I don't pretend to know the mechanics of how the autopilot works.
  20. Is barometric altitude really determined by the INS and not by the pitot tube?
  21. Ok, so I applied this 3M stuff to the bottom of a little plywood frame that I created to give the pedals clearance from the wall. It seems to help hold the pedals still at least for now. We'll see how that holds up in the future. The white box is something I bought to hold the power strip and cords from all the PC and peripherals to keep the place looking neater, and also weighs down the plywood frame.
  22. I see, makes sense. The difficulty is the nice floors and baseboards do not lend themselves well to any modifications. I really wish homebuilders would consider flight sim peripherals during design and construction!
  23. I just ordered a roll of 3M adhesive non-slip pads that I plan on cutting and applying to the bottom of my pedals. Will let you know how they work. I've got Crosswind pedals on a wooden floor.
  24. We don't have the plane set for it. We don't even have Stukas!
