  1. They are included with the F-14 module
  2. So you have been doing preflight checks for 43 years but not checking for water in your preflight fuel samples? Or do you just simply skip over that whole item in the preflight checklist?
  3. It's an option in the Comms menu
  4. There's what seems to be a pretty great campaign. For an hours/dollar perspective it is likely an incredible deal
  5. That looks like the kneeboard? You can map the kneeboard keys (appear, next page, previous page) to hotas buttons.
  6. Just put a zip tie on the back. That will relieve stress on the little plastic clip. I use the fuzzy Velcro ones so that it's comfortable and is easy to remove. Edit - similar to @-Dagger-above but on the back instead of the side. Either way should work depending on which side of your chair you want the cable to fall.
  7. Are there any Navaids on the Syria map? Whatever the L-39's equivalent of VOR/ILS is - RSBN I think, that it can use?
  8. Two weeks
  9. It was a deepcool gammaxx gt.
  10. I just installed a Lian Li Galahad 240mm for my 5800x3D and temps improved substantially over my air cooling. Radiator is at the top of the case. Idles at like 32 degrees.
  11. It's kind of crappy that we haven't gotten a better HMD in the two years since the G2 was released. Hopefully this year will bring us something.
  12. Pretty much every module has kneeboard procedures in the User Files section, which you simply drop into the DCS folder in Saved Games. It's what I use for the built-in kneeboard function. Do those not have what you need, @dburne?
  13. You got any stock market picks for 2023?
  14. I'm usually excited by new gpu releases, but these prices this gen are extremely hard to swallow Especially compared to the MSRP that I paid for my 3080FE when it came out.
  15. Are you on the beta version of Steam VR? Try switching. (This worked once for me in the past when I was getting a lot of crashes)
  16. Yeah, there hasn't been much activity on the campaign front in a while. I check the release notes each update, and they've been short of new campaigns for months it seems.
  17. Whether or not I purchase a module often depends on the quality of the training content and any other single-player items. How is the included content here? How many missions in the campaign?
  18. I bought a bass transducer for like $17, and an amp for like $20. That plus speaker cable plus the software is my butt kicker.
  19. Nice. Coincidentally, that article mentions one of the squadrons will move to Misawa AFB, where I spent several years. A Japanese squadron at the time when I was there flew Mitsubishi F-1s. These F-4s in the article are particularly beautiful examples of what I consider to be a gorgeous plane to start with.
  20. I saw a good increase, though I didn't put in the effort to benchmark DCS. I bought it knowing that it's the last CPU that my current build can accommodate. If I were to upgrade now, I'd really consider a 7k series as you will have upgrade paths in coming years.
  21. Wow, really? That's a lot. However, you can't argue with this amazing price! (Not sure why this is what shows when I google RTX 4090)
  22. I was able to get two of the EVGA cards through their queuing system, when they were nearly impossible to find at comparable prices anywhere else. EVGA is generally at the top of my list for consideration... not anymore it seems. If I'm buying a 4000-series (who am I kidding? I will) then I'll likely look for a Founder's Edition. Those have served me well this current gen.
  23. That build is strikingly similar to my current PC. I have a good experience with the Reverb G2, albeit with some settings turned down vs what I could accomplish with a monitor. Some maps are better than others. Keep in mind that the next-gen AMD CPUs on the horizon will require a new socket and building an AMD system now has no upgrade paths without replacing the motherboard. I don't know much about Intel at the moment though, so am unsure if that is more flexible. Also make sure to enable the XMP profile for the memory. A lot of ram runs much slower than the advertised speed by default, but it's a simple process to enable the higher speeds in the BIOS anytime. AMD processors are particularly sensitive to ram speeds which is why this is something to pay attention to.
  24. I'm not an Intel guy - does that processor need (or benefit from) DDR5? I think the price premium on those may not be worth it yet. For the pre-built, a 3070 may be good enough for monitor use but once you go VR that would be one of the first candidates for upgrading. But then again if you don't expect to be doing that for 6 months then the 4000 series may be out by then anyway.
