  1. There's another sim that has exactly that (though not Pacific). Let ED continue making the full-fidelity aircraft that we don't get to use for combat anywhere else.
  2. I can't find anything in the manual (as the detailed EW page is still not added it seems?) - but is there a way to get rid of the lollypops in the HUD when the EW is turned on?
  3. I see, thanks. I was not looking at JPT. I'll see if I can replicate. Maybe just my form was bad - I had assumed that water would assist with propulsion and help my hover if my weight was within limits, but I couldn't maintain a hover and hit the deck kind of hard.
  4. Is there a reason why the water would not activate when set in Landing mode but would in Takeoff mode? I am practicing in one of the Instant Action missions, and was trying a vertical landing, and had the water set to Landing. No water activated and I hit the ground pretty hard with throttle to full. I was under 20,500 pounds gross weight. But then I tried again, set the water to Takeoff mode, and the water activated just fine. What's the difference between the modes, and why would it not have activated when in Landing mode?
  5. Awesome, all these testimonials have had me re-learning the Harrier after a couple of years just to play this campaign. Going to get into it shortly. I assume the briefings will let me know which weapons I'll need to be familiar with before embarking? The targeting has really changed since I last flew the plane.
  6. Watching this topic. Btw the 4080 has 16gb ram.
  7. Same question. What's the difference between using the TOO button vs Markpoints?
  8. Are the barf bags provided in quart size, or gallon?
  9. It depends on how you look at it! All else equal, sure. But think of your 4 cylinder HMD with Turbo compared to a larger, naturally-aspirated 6 cylinder headset. The turbo allows for the same horsepower with less displacement, and less fuel consumption than what would traditionally have been a larger, heavier headset with a V-6 if they wanted to increase FPS and quarter mile times.
  10. It takes the exhaust from the HMD and uses it to power a turbine, which injects compressed air into the headset for a more powerful detonation per frame
  11. Just increase the gamma for night missions. I've been doing Reflected's Mosquito campaign which has some night missions - I put gamma up to 3.4 or so and it's great. Then back to 2.2 for daytime.
  12. It should show under My Campaigns, or something like that (the first option in the list in the campaigns menu)
  13. So are you asking for help or are you just venting? I work in the IT industry, and one of my pet peeves is when a user sends me an email just stating that [software or process name] "doesn't work". It communicates no information of value, and just forces me to ask a bunch of follow up questions to see what they're having trouble with. Make sure you have no mods installed or active, do a slow repair, clean the shader folders, and make sure drivers are up to date.
  14. Wondering the same thing. Is it just the targeting and weaponry? Or more fundamental items?
  15. I think you've got the right idea already... any new module that I'm interested in, I take the three-pronged approach that you've already identified. Do the training missions in-game, read the Chuck's Guide and/or the official guide, and watch a bunch tutorials on YouTube. Just like real flight training, knowing the capabilities of the aircraft allows you to focus on whichever areas you're weakest in. There are a good number of playlists on YouTube from various creators so that you can brush up on specific topics before a particular campaign mission requires you to use them. And if you're not familiar with carrier ops or AAR, for example, just jump into the instant action missions and practice the specific techniques until you're good at them. The good campaigns in DCS (like those from Baltic Dragon, Reflected, Ground Pounder Sims) have great documentation so that you know what you're getting into before jumping into the cockpit each mission, like which weapons you need to be familiar with. I guarantee that if you do all the training missions and read the manual you'll be good to go with the technical stuff before long.
  16. I tried that too - I downgraded the render scale in OpenXR Tools for WMR and it had no noticeable affect on the stuttering.
  17. Yeah - I've found that running the executables (either single thread or multi) with --force_OpenXR and I get bad stutters when moving my head around in the cockpit. If I just run the normal executable, without --force_OpenXR (so it opens SteamVR) then the stutters are gone. I think you can't do the MT executable this way? I'm on a G2 headset, RTX 3080, and Ryzen 5800X3D. Any input would be appreciated.
  18. That's weird... The main reason why I bought the Mosquito was because Reflected announced a single player campaign for it.
  19. I hope your experience is good, but entering with expectations of no stuttering may set you up for disappointment unfortunately. I like Sim Shaker, personally.
  20. Did you set the transmitter to standby? Download the Chuck's Guide and see starting on p.286 to make sure you've done everything there.
  21. This mission Soooo satisfying to finally see the English coast in the foggy distance. Since we all seemed to split up after the raid, I was on my own navigation-wise for the return home, save for two wingmen desperately trying to keep up with me. I think I did pretty well... At least I destroyed a few ground objects (I don't recall what they were exactly). But following the road to Amiens, then seeing the smoke and then the prison complex quickly appear ahead, then the split-second course corrections and bomb release, then getting the heck out of there. Awesome experience! Edit - though when getting to the Channel after leaving France, I didn't climb to 3000 since the artificial horizon didn't seem to want to work. Not sure why. Anything above 1000 because of the weather I couldn't see the sea, so I had to stay low to keep myself oriented.
