  1. Just the tonic for you on a cold morning ;)
  2. Thanks btd, both versions are good
  3. Seems fitting for the scenario, I have no problems with it. Just I always turn music off in any games I have
  4. There is music on DCS? if there is a music slider then it gets set to 0 in every game I have.
  5. Downloaded and updated then loaded up the quick fly and got to the Pause/Break to fly ... then had to go out  Just back and she is quite the beast :joystick:
  6. Not tried the OR yet, but I did try a VR head set something like it a few years ago at a flight sim show, I could not get it off my head fast enough, it was like feeling vertigo and inducing a headache from the moment I opened my eyes. I was so disappointed as I would have loved a system like that, but after that experience I would have to try OR before I would even contemplate about buying it. My eyesight is marginal and out of alignment at best, and is why I fly sims and not a real aircraft. I have had 3 operations to keep my eyes under control and last time I was told that it would have to last me until I get my own personal wooden pod ;)
  7. Darn! I have been reading the wrong manual today At least the wife is out all day tomorrow :joystick: :pilotfly:
  8. In one of my flight manuals part of the pilots notes discusses how to select what type of fusing the missile is going to use whether it is instant for a head on launch or delayed if you are firing from a stern chase aspect, this is for a 1960s aircraft system.
  9. Zen? much longer and I will have ascended :helpsmilie: It will be ready when it's ready
  10. All of the above :) While I like to see the original, sometimes that is just not possible and a scratch built replica to the original specs can give you a feeling for the original.
  11. I can remember sharing my desktop with a friend from Shanghai so she could browse the interwebs without the GFofC blocking her. It shook a lot of beliefs she had and it took her a little while to recover from the shock of finding out what the rest of the world knew about her country. Now a good many years on she has a very good job as game producer with a software company in china and a few awards under her belt. She has travelled around the world a lot more than I have and even came to visit me here in Belgium. She was traveling with a couple of friends and a thug of a minder to make sure they returned to China when the visit was over. I know she uses a vpn to get out past the great firewall, and last Friday I pointed her at this site as her next project involves flight simulation but not to the level of DCS.
  12. I was at Leuchars in the late 80s when the Vulcan pilot got it badly wrong and came across the crowd line at low speed and a high angle of bank, we all had to turn round and look directly up to see the aircraft as the pilot pushed the throttles to the limit and recover. Yes it looked barely under control, and a little frightening for those of us that were under the aircraft. That was probably the loudest noise I have ever heard and the vibration was something else, it was like trying to stand on a washing machine on full spin with an out of balance load :) ... Thinking about it, the only other thing I remember being as loud was watching a formation take off of the Firebirds in the early 60s It's a memory I still cherish, and I am glad nothing went wrong!
  13. It was all a conspiracy by some fellow called Webster that wanted to completely disassociate himself and the United States of America from Great Britain.
  14. +1 for Scotland, love to be able to recreate some of the flight routes they have up there, on a good day you could see the aircraft orbiting waiting for their turn at bombing at the range at Portmahomack
  15. No, not just you
  16. Shhhhh 4,857...4,8?? Darn now I have to start again 1...2...3... Great pictures :D:thumbup:
  17. Could be an AN 2 biplane, looks kind of like one that visits our local field. Great looking shots Cobra. :)
  18. There is nothing like eating some old crow So I voted Spit :)
  19. Well we are awaiting a jet :music_whistling:
  20. No, it is Airshow Season :) :pilotfly:
  21. Don't you mean 3 to 4 weeks :music_whistling:
  22. Heh my grandson's favourite aircraft, and the one he keeps asking to watch on youtube You should have heard him when Disney's Planes came out and he seen Skipper for the first time :) ps. he will be 4 next month so there is still hope for F4U fans, he puts up with flying the DCS P51 but he really wants that F4U ;)
  23. Have a look at star citizen they have a direct employment of around 200 plus other studios doing parts of the development, they started writing code in 2010 to get a demo video ready for October 2012, now it is July 2014 and they have only just released the dogfight module. I think Beczl and Leatherneck Studios have done very well to get this far in such a short space of time with the limited manpower they have.
  24. Look Mam - No hands... Nice looking model
  25. Yeah heavens you forgot Austria in the Alpen scenario it also borders on to the Swiss and Italian countries. Also there was a long history of "Border Movement" between Italy and Austria ;)
