2. Nevermind, glad it helped. You can set your wheel brakes as buttons or axis. For analog rudder axis, you need to choose the axis command instead of the buttons. Click on "Axis Assign" at the bottom of the DCS control setting and look for "wheel brake left" and "wheel brake right" axis. Maybe this helps ;) Cheers
4. The WW throttle and the panel are 2 separate controllers. Be sure to choose the correct one when mapping switches in DCS control setting.
5. I agree there should be more cold starts. Especially with payed campaigns, focus should be be on as much realism as possible, since one should have the 5+ min for a cold start when going for a campaign he payed for. There is always Auto-Start if there is no time to learn the start up procedure. But for user made campaigns/missions... well, people craft their missions the way they like them. Not everyone is a professional mission maker and sometimes cold start provides a few issues (at least for me) with timing. Just an example, 95% of my missions are cold start and i would do 100% cold start, IF the AI would need as much time as a player to cold start i.e. the Hornet. I'm just crafting a 2P coop mission where i want to attack an airbase. Player flight is attacking ammo and fuel storage with several AI flights attacking runway, or performing SEAD and A-A escort. I want them to take off in relatively short intervalls, but the AI is doing super fast start ups, ending up with the AI flights orbiting around bullseye waiting for the player flight to catch up and running out of fuel half way RTB. AAR doesen't help, as AI won't AAR as long as they got fuel left in their external tanks (i guess). So i either set player flight to hot start, place bullseye much further away (to force AI to AAR) or have the AI flights spawning out of nowhere around the players after a certain time. Since the latter kills immersion much more than a hot start IMO and the mission already takes 2 hours from T/O to touch down, i decided to go for hot start.I absolutely prefer cold start and agree with your demand, just saying that it's not always possible for every mission maker. I think if ED would make the AI taking more time for start-up would be a first step. Cheers
6. That's not totally correct. Virpil does have a CE certification (at least my devices do have it) and so does VKB afaik. And since i.e. Realsimulator/Slaw Devices/MFG are located in the EU, you can be sure they have it as well. And an increase in price is absolutely acceptable compared to the risk of having your shipment checked and confiscated by national customs. In this case, you will even pay for the destruction of your device. It may be possible that the official allows you to ship it back, but as far as i experienced national customs aren't very customer friendly but more focused on law and order. One beeing interested in WW products has to decide for himself, if he wants to take the risk. But the point is, that people should at least be aware about this risk and not a single reviewer mentioned that issue. In no way blaming reviewers from overseas (US, Canada, etc.) that aren't affected by this, but there are several european reviews (french, english, portuguese, etc) of the WW Hotas on YT and all you hear from them is how great the throttle is. Yes it is, i realy enjoy mine... but it is still illegal to import, sell and operate in europe. And in case of warranty, i'm doomed as well as the shipment may be checked by customs for export ( when going to WW for repair) as well as when beeing shipped back to me. Double the risk. So european buyers are literally purchasing a product without a real warranty. Unthinkable with VKB, Virpil, or even MFG or Slaw Devices Not sure if this is the chinese CE marking wich stands for "China Export" or the CE certification we're talking about (Conformité Européenne), but the european certification has to be on the device and not on the box. The Hornet panels were on my wishlist but scratched them after i realised my Throttle lacks the certification. Sadly couldn't find any informations on the WW homepage about this and it would be great they got their stuff straight. They better do as a large percentage of the flight sim market is located in europe and the information WW devices beeing illegal in europe is spreading. And such an issue can make a company fail. No offense, but honestly i don't trust anything except for a picture of a WW device having a original CE certification, posted on the forum by someone from the community who has recieved his order. My communication with WW about this issue was too disapointing and i had the feeling they don't take it serious. And it was not like i was complaining, i was offering assistance with informations of how to get it and what regulations they need to fullfill.
7. This is very promising. Not only for DCS i guess. If this turns out to be true, i'll definately come to the dark side. I realy wonder if the GDDR6X of the 3080 makes any significant difference compared to the GDDR6. It's propably better, but how much?
8. Will definately wait for big navi to see some benchmarks in comparison, but at least to see if NVIDIA is dropping prices or announcing other cards (3080ti?). Afaik NVIDIA never officially announced increased VRAM versions of the 3080 and the 3070 as well as those beeing canceled wasn't a official statement from NVIDIA. So one can only hope AMD comes up with something great, even if going for NVIDIA. Competition is good.
9. The Warthog in your link is't realy cheap. 400$ is just the minimum bid and the guy is charging 339$ for shipping!? I had the X55 prior to the Warthog and it suffered from ghosting (known problem) and buttons stopped working at certain throttle positions shortly after warranty. Maybe just bad luck, but the X56 is the same HOTAS with different paint and new stickers. I wouldn't buy it. If money is short but you desperately want a decent HOTAS, wait for the Warthog beeing on a normal price level again. If you're willing to spend 500+ for just the Warthog, get Virpil Throttle and Stick instead and you'll have something way better than the Warthog for slightly more money. I made the mistake to go with the Warthog first and started to replace it end of last year. Could have saved me the money for the Warthog. Cheers
10. I'm not a hardware expert, but i would assume that you waste your money using the NVMe SSD as a simple storage volume. All games i reinstalled on the M.2 SSD (Witcher 3, GTA V, ArmA 3, Doom, Prey, Star Citizen, Resident Evil remakes and a few more) run better than on the SATA SSD before. Maybe it's just me, but everything feels somehow smoother right now. IMO one of the best upgrades for my PC so far. Cheers
11. I know it's hard to do, but better wait for prices going back to a normal level after the hype train for MSFS 2020 has reached it's station and TMs production capacity fits request again. I payed 380€ (~400 US$) for my Warthog (Stick andThrottle + including a 4 year warranty) in 2018. Before paying 500$ for a Warthog, you can spend a bit more, purchase a Virpil setup and you'll get way more for your money. And don't waste your money on a X-56, because it's propably worse than what you have now. Cheers
12. Also GDDR6X shortage would only be an explanation for the 3080 20GB, but not for the 3070 16GB as it does use normal GDDR6. That's just great for me, got a Reverb G2 on pre-order and my old 1080Ti just bit the dust few days ago. Now running a backup 1060 6GB and can hardly maintain 60 FPS on a 1080P screen with medium settings. So totally under pressure to get a new (high-end) card and don't want to get a second hand one from ebay wich was propably used for mining. I would have taken the bitter pill to have the G2 laying around 'till december... But from my personal perspective, NVIDIA (obviously) cancelling the high VRAM versions is a catastrophy and tbh i have no idea what to do now:dunno:
13. I also found out recently, that my fairly old MB has a M.2 NVMe port and just upgraded it with a 2TB NVMe 2280 SSD. Sadly it's only PCIe 3.0, but better than nothing. I made 4 volumes (wich is the maximum i think) out of it to have individual drives for C:\ 250GB Win 10 Pro only, D:\ 500GB for DCS, E:\ 500GB for Star Citizen and the rest is F:\ for a second Steam libary with the newer games wich (i think) benefit most from NVMe. Kept my 2 SATA SSDs for older games and other software. I know DCS (and Star Citizen) propably won't exceed 300 - 350GB in the nearby future, but i simply like to have a lot of free space left. If i where you, i'd create a C:\ volume for Win only and the rest of your M.2 for DCS (or the game you prefer). Just as organisational measure. Cheers
14. That's kinda unfortunate. Now will there ever be a 20Gb/Ti for the 3080, or can we now order the 3080 10GB without having to worrie about a high VRAM version coming out later. That's the question now. NVIDIA is realy playing bad IMO, but i'm not sure if i want to go the AMD route...
15. I've got the MSI Vigor GK80 mechanical Cherry Red, wich i'm very happy with. LED colors are programmable individualy for each key and can be changed via keys on the keyboard. The software gives you way more options, but is not needed to program the LED colors what i think is a nice feature. It's just not a budget option, i paid 160€ for it. But is definately worth the money
18. Not using the TM Hornet grip anymore, but i had it mapped like it is in the real thing. Except for the thumbwheel of course, wich was used for radar antenna elevation up/down and center view. Cheers
19. I purchased these plastic inlay profiles wich are clipped into the notch, so i can use them as cable tunnel. They're sold in 2000mm bars, just cut them with a knife to the length you need. Not sure if that's a solution for you, but maybe this helps with getting an idea of how you wanna do it.
20. Monstertech has some good stuff. Pretty expensive though, but you'll get what you'll pay for and you can choose your stick/throttle for each mount separately. They also have a long version of their mounts for center sticks. Cheers
22. I have the TM Warthog grip on a Virpil WarBRD base with heavy springs and no center cams, no extensions. IMO a great combo. Got a T50 base as well with 35cm Virpil extension (5cm + 10cm + 20cm s-type) and had the TM Hornet grip attached to it. The TM Hornet grip is replaced by a Realsimulator F-18E grip now, but worked good with the T50 base and the long extension.

Members age?

39 in December. LHX Attack Chopper was my first PC game as a little child and since then addicted to flight sims. Even while it was more like playing around without any clue, i'd say Microprose' F-14 Fleet Defender was my first true flight sim. Then went along with literally everything the market provided until the end of the golden flight sim age in the late 90's, Strike Commander, U.S. Navy Fighters, most of Jane's, all of the TFX titles, LOMAC and Falcon 4.0 just to name a few. But always playing other games too. DCS is installed since 2014, but was unable to get away from BMS until the DCS Hornet entered early access. Now DCS is my only flight sim and i rarely play other games.
24. Was genau soll denn angegriffen werden? "in Zone angreifen" Wegpunktaufgaben.
