1. Because DCS has close to 10.000 reviews yet alone on Steam. So if you could do the math... 2. Most sources say the SD-10/PL-12 having a max range of roughly 45nm, the 120B about the same and the 120C, depending on source about 55-65nm. So what? Truth hurts, huh? Sorry, didn´t want to burst your bubble.

Most of the online servers are empty 24/7 and only a few are populated. My server browser shows round about 500 servers and 700-1000 players worldwide. Including one Admin bot on each server, so there are roughly about 300-500 real players online. I highly doubt that this is the majority of DCS customers. And for aircrafts from the same era on both sides... red has the JF-17 wich is very versatile and pretty much equal to the F-16/F-18 (well, as long as the 120C is still underpowered compared to it´s real life performance), so what´s the point?

This is only a part of the truth. Fact is, that the details of the MSFS 2020 world map is related to your internet connection. The slower your connection is, the less details you will have. Not everyone has a 1000 Mbit/s connection to enjoy FS 2020 in full details, while i doubt a 1000 Mbit/s connection will be enough for that. Not to talk about the CPU/GPU you will need to run this with more than 15 fps. Even the raindrops on the windscreen are A.I. controlled as well as multiple shadow layers on 32 layer cloud systems. The PC (and internet connection) that runs FS 2020 with 60+ fps on full details is not developed yet.

No problem. Yes the WarBRD is a bit more than the TM base, but worth every penny.

How to use thrustmaster warthog on other modules?
VpR81 replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That is correct. If you want to have all switch positions beeing mapped functional, target is the best way to achieve this without having to mod any .lua files. For example you can map the China Hat forward, backward and middle position as 3 separate inputs. -
-
Not sure if this would work, but you could try following: Use one TM base free and ingame mapped and the second one with a TARGET profile, as TARGET will morph your controllers included in the profile to a separate virtual controller. This should work, also for the throttle. Besides that, i would rather purchase a VPC WarBRD base instead of a second TM base. It´s a bit more expensive, but you´ll get what you´ll pay for. I got a similar setup as you are planning to get. TM base with extension and TM F/A-18 grip on top center mounted, VPC WarBRD base with TM A-10/F-16 grip as sidestick. Absolutely happy with the WarBRD base and i would never exchange it for a second TM base. Cheers

Peanuts. Where to place the order? :D

The problem with SARS-CoV-2 is not that it´s got a high mortality (infact it hasn´t, compared to Ebola or similar), the problem is that there is very little knowledge about the virus and that it has such a long incubation time (2-3 weeks) before there are signs of an infection, wich is absolute remarkable for a potentially short term deadly disease. Ebola for example will kill you within a few days after infection and has very little chance to travel from africa to america or europe. This (and the lack of knowledge about it) is what makes SARS-CoV-2 dangerous and supports spreading over the whole world. The best advise is to clean your hands regulary and don´t panic.

Using the keyboard isn´t realy practical, as you would have to take your hand off the HOTAS. On coop missions with some real life friends i´m using voice activation (don´t know if discord provides that type of transmission) instead of permanent transmission or push-to-talk in Teamspeak 3, as we´re never more than 4 and mostly only 2 ppl and no one is talking over others. When playing public ArmA with 8-12 ppl in the squad, p2t is the way to go in TS3. As for SRS, there is the option "Radio switch works as push to talk" wich i use. For the Warthog throttle, i have the CHB switch mapped as radio 2 and CHF as radio 1. Works great for me.
-
My words. Also there are a lot of nice plugins to customize your client. Overwolf has been mentioned and i got one installed adding radio clutter. Can´t remember the name right now, but it´s realy great to have. The DCS ingame voice chat works suprisingly well. The only problem is that there is either no one using it, or ppl don´t realise to activate push to talk and have perm transmission activated. I tested this a few days ago and had a russian guy singing polka all the time while his wife was freaking out and screaming in the background. Pretty annoying though...But besides that, it looks (or sounds) promising. Haha, yeah JF2 was fun. DOSBox is also installed on my comp to satisfy my nostalgia and i do sometimes have a few sorties in Eurofighter 2000 (got the WIN95 version as well) and Strike Commander... Those were the days back when flight sims sold better than any other game genre. So sad that they have become a niche product...

Realy? A 1080Ti is too weak?
-
Still a kickstarter project, but it looks promising. They said, that they will offer a mount to attach it vertically. https://totalcontrols.eu/

This is a nice construction indeed, well planned and executed. I´m still looking for a DIY MFD/display solution for my rig as it has no frame to mount them w/o modification. I will definately take a look on the displays you choosed, as these almost perfectly fit behind the TM MFDs. Thanks a lot for that hint. Just wondering what you are going to display on the third screen in the F-16. Or is this just a preparation for future Hornet usage?

AFAIK In RL, the curvature of the earth starts to get visible for human eyes at roughly 25.000ft. If DCS maps would have realistic curvature, there would be no need to go up to 90.000ft....
-
I assume left and right MFD will be placed at the same spots seen on pics 1-3. But where is the 3rd MFD case supposed to be placed in the finished pit? And are you going to mount them (spotted possible screwholes in the bottom of the cases), or are they heavy enough not to sslide around? Looks great btw.

Won´t these two modules getting uninstalled automatically after the "free-to-fly" weekend is over?

Look, i´m not a professional on that. All my knowledge is from 10-15 years ago when we sometimes painted parts for our cars back in younger days. Since the WH grip is made from metal, i would simply treat it like a car part. If you want to have it look like almost new, i would assume that there is no way around disassembling it and do the following: 1. Remove the old paint with sand paper 2. clean the surface with thinner. Must be perfectly clean 3. airbrush it with ground coating and let this dry for at least 24h 4. airbrush it with car paint of the same RAL code and let this dry for several days (3-4). 5. repeat step 4. Otherwise i doubt it would look much better than it does now and you could save your time and effort instead and just use it as it is. If you do not own an airbrush system and an air conditioning compressor, you could also use aerosol can paint, but the quality won´t be a blast with these.

I´m not an expert, but i think something is broken with vsync. Prior to 2.5.6 i had solid 60 fps in SP as well as in MP and after the update my fps dropped to 25-35 in average. I read something about vsync and that it sometimes doesen´t perfectly work and then can cause fps drops in games, so i wanted to give that a try and turned it off yesterday. Now in rare cases i still have fps drops, but not down to 25-30 and my average fps went up to 60-80 i´d say. And it looks the same, means no typical non-vsync issues... wtf? 2 days ago i would have stated that the game has become almost unplayble for me, but now i´d say the total opposite. Without vsync, it "feels" even better than before the update...

Start SRS-ClientRadio and click on "audio preview", there you can test your mic and headphones to see if they work and how other ppl will hear you. Teamspeak also has audio test functions and i´m sure discord has as well.
