That sounds indeed pretty good. Also seems to be more practical than the 360° motion simulator, wich i think will exhaust you pretty fast in a dogfight. By the pictures i´ve seen about it, i´m ot sure if i understand the nature of the SFX 100... To me it seems to be a lift system only available as blueprint and i haven´t seen one for sale. So you´d have to built it up by yourself, or can you purchase the parts and just have to put it together? It seems to be very similar to this one: https://www.rseat-europe.com/RSeat-Motion-Simulators-DBOX-Dynamic-Seats/N1-D-BOX-Motion-Simulator/N1-M4A-6000-Black-DBOX-Motion-Simulator Or am i wrong?

Ok, but that´s exactly what is confusing to me. If the missile goes into a search mode and then switches to STT after going pitbull, the targeted aircraft should recieve only a warning sound for beeing locked, not a missile warning sound as it does in DCS. Shouldn´t it? Or am i still wrong? In this case in RWS, the missile sound on the RWR should turn back into a lock warning only if the motherships radar breaks lock and stops guidance of the missile, as soon as it goes pitbull. Right?

That is a bit confusing to me. Let me get this together...with RWS the targeted aircraft recieves a launch warning, because the attack radar emissions increase to support the launch/guidance of the missile. simple spoken. Right? But using TWS... what does the missiles radar do as soon as it goes active? I mean in terms of emissions. Are these realy comparable to those of the attack radars guidance mode with RWS? I´d assume, the difference to the attack radars STT is marginal as the missiles radar is less poweful, but then there would not be a missile warning on the RWR. Or am i wrong about this?

I´m flying coop missions with my brother each weekend and we use teamspeak. We join a public ts server and jump to an unoccupied channel room, but you can also easily start your own server. Hmm, seems like i´d have to take a closer look on that. I know the ingame VoIP from various other games beeing crappy and therefore never tried it in DCS...

That´s true, but how does the SFX 100 simulate/create the correct force in banking turns? Or upside down flight or climbing? Realy interested in that, but it´s hard for me to believe, that there is anything out there simulating those flight profiles better than this thing. But as i said, just thought that this looks pretty impressive. Not sure if it is realy practical or just a funny show off... However, what kills it for me in the first place, is propably the price...

The description under the video says: ....IMPORTANT: This Simulator has a belt tension System with 80kg force to simulate Positive Gs (unfortunately not visible in this video). Even in a loop the Pilot is pressed into the Seat! Further the vertical acceleration (surge) of max. 0.9 G is simulated with OnSet Cueing (pitch up/down). Drift or Sway is done by rolling a little left and right. Together with Valve Index VR Headset the whole thing feels extremly realistic... Sounds actually pretty good to me...

True. But the CM2 is said to be great as well, there is a promising VKB in the pipe and there is the also reasonable TM throttle, so you still got high quality options.

Check this out. Not available yet, but looks very promising https://totalcontrols.eu/

What about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPhuUdkOJoU So far the most impressive thing i saw...

AFAIK, Virpil stated that they won´t produce the original CM50 anymore and the restock in, i think, November 2019 was the last chance to get some of them.

I don´t need... i want.

IMO the question is not what you prefer, but what you are willing to do. If you choose the open beta, you should be aware that you accept the fact of beeing a paying beta tester, instead of a targeted customer in the first place. This means you should be willing to report bugs and provide trackfiles if needed to help developing the game and speed up the release of patches to the stable version. So if you´re willing to do so and/or prefer MP, go for open beta. If not and you just want to fly and enjoy the sim, you should go for stable.

F-117A Nighthawk May not be enjoyed by everyone as a pure ground pounder with very limited loadout, but propably the only Stealth aircraft old enough (and out of service) to have a least a tiny small chance to be represented in DCS in the next few years. And i´d love to try that thing out in SAM flooded envroinments on a study level sim...

Ok, thanks for the answer. I just thought that the AN/APG-73 may not be able to handle the D... or at least unable to use it´s full potential, related to limitations compared to the AN/APG-79 of the Super Hornets...
-
Yes, getting in and out of the cockpit would be great for immersion. Maybe some additional animations for pre-flight check on the ground as well.
-
Is the D-Model even beeing implemented to Legacy Hornets in RL, or is it Super Hornet exclusive?
-
I´m running open beta since the Hornet started EA and my game rarely crashes. And if, mostly in the mission editor. Don´t wanna lie, but i´d say it didn´t crash more than 2 or 3 times during flight in 2019, wich is absolutely acceptable for open beta. This may be system related and there are of course more bugs in general, but for me the open beta is still a enjoyable game experience. The point about using open beta is, that ppl should be aware they agree with beeing a paying beta tester helping to develope the game in the first place, instead of beeing a targeted customer. Therefore ppl should be willing to report bugs and deliver trackfiles if needed in order to help the devs fixing these. Besides MP servers, if you´re willing to do so and supply the devs with bug reports you should go for open beta. If not, go for stable.

The Hornet is more polished and very much mission capable, while the Viper still needs to catch up. I own both and fly the Hornet in 99% of the time, it´s a great aircraft and a module well worth to purchase. The Vipers developement stage may lead to negative training, wich is why i avoid flying it at this point. I´d suggest getting the Hornet first and the Viper in 5-7 months. If you don´t own the persian gulf map, go for the Hornet+PG bundle and then pre-purchase the supercarrier with a 50% "Hornet owner" discount. This way you´ll get most out of your money.

Glad i could help you out. Good luck with your project! Cheers

I don´t think so. Maybe via some kind of script, but afaik Target does only detect TM devices.
-
Yes, that´s correct. You can place the base plate on a flat surface without any issues. You can also use the original TM screws, they fit perfectly. I for myself purchased new screws that are slightly longer but still fit, as i find the TM screws a little bit short. The screws i used are M4 x 7 mm and need a hex key instead of a screwdriver, as you can see on the attached pictures. edit: Well yes, Virpils shipping costs are horrible. Especially overseas, but even to germany (wich is around the corner compared to north america) they take 20€ for shipping. I made sure to have at least items for 60-80€ in the cart everytime i ordered something from them, so it´s worth the shipping costs. But if you don´t need anything else than a 10 or 20€ item it´s realy a pain to order from Virpil. But their products are state of the art, no doubt.
-
What you could do instead is mount your TM base to the universal baseplate i mentioned above, then mount it to your flight sim pit. Drill 4 holes that a slightly bigger than the holes on the plate to have some tolerance. 3/4" is about 19mm, the base plate has about 3mm. 25 or 30mm screws will match and should be pretty easy to get on your local hardware store.

The SC is originally around 50€. I assume ED made it ~32€ for pre-purchase without the Hornet because Steam does not allow a discount on pre-purchase. The 20% discount in your inventory is for the Hornet. So in fact, you got the full discount at ~26€ while it´s just splitted to a Hornet discount voucher and a 30% lower pre-purchase price compared to the ED shop. That´s my interpretation...

Nevermind, things can happen...

Uhm nope, read the comments again. I´m a Steam user and he came over here to troll around.
