  1. Try a installation repair, maybe this helps. If not, i'd try to map a few buttons and switches in Target and look if the input via the virtual controller is recognised in DCS.
  2. I use the WH grip on the WarBRD base with heavy springs installed and i think it works great, a bit floppy yes, but overall realy good. The soft springs were much too floppy and iirc the stick didn't recenter correctly, leaning a bit forward. Also own the extra heavy springs. But i haven't tested them yet, as i'm pretty happy with the current setup. It needs some time to get used to the softer base with the heavy TM grip on top, but i'd never go back to the WH base as sidestick w/o extensions.
  3. I think getting faulty products from Virpil and then fighting their customer support is a secondary problem, even while beeing annoying. I got all the extensions from Virpil + the WarBRD base, everything came in good condition and i'm absolutely happy with it. This risk with the T-50 base wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. But the non-symetrical cam behavior isn't a quality issue, but a pure design flaw. The WarBRD base does not suffer from it, most likely because it has mirrored cams instead of "one sided" cams. And that's what making the T-50 CM2 a no-go for me. I don't want to use significant more force rolling to the left, than for rolling to the right.
  4. That is actually a pretty good idea!
  5. Well, i had similar plans but the recent posts about non-symetric cams etc. convinced me to keep using my WH base as center stick and not to purchase the T50 CM2. Got a WarBRD base from Virpil as sidestick and it´s absolutely great, but will wait for a possible CM3, wich hopefully will be redesigned without those design flaws. Hope you´ll get a good one cheers
  6. Not that i´m aware of. Little bit annoying, but i can live with it.
  7. No doubt, but others with a brandnew Warthog and less experience may come accross this thread. And for these ppl it´s propably interesting to know. Just sayin
  8. The easiest way IMO is using Target or Joystick Gremlin. I have each position on all switches mapped. I.e. the APU switch extends the refueling probe when set to "Start" and retracts it when set to "off". Same goes for EAC switch, RDR ALTM etc. Also the Autopilot PATH - ALT/HDG - ALT switch has all 3 positions mapped. Not a big deal with Target... Just be sure to set the signal to "pulse" instead of "hold".
  9. Running into that problem as well, as there is no frame r anything on my simrig to mount them. I just ordered the MFD mounts from Monstertech: https://www.monstertech.de/en/product/mfd-tablet-mount/ and a 600mm aluminium profile to attach them: https://www.smt-montagetechnik.de/produkte/2547n.htm I'll thread the longside tube holes with M8 and drill fitting holes into the bottom plate of my rig, voilá. Check out the MT homepage for stands and stuff to get some inspiration. That aluminium profile stuff is easy to handle, very versatile, easy to get and relative cheap. It'll propably provide a DIY solution for you as well.
  10. Very true, but i wouldn't recommend that for a brandnew stick. Switching springs, take it apart and regreasing the gimbal is ok with TM, but sanding the gimbal will void warranty.
  11. An absolute dream coming true, thx a lot for the Typhoon, but... +1 This is exactly what i wanted to ask as well...
  12. If coming from the Warthog, i'd rather suggest Virpil than VKB, although VKB offers great quality. But their bases aren't compatible with TM/Virpil/Realsimulator grips except when installing adaptors to the grips. But these adaptors are difficult, if not almost impossible to get as they are always out of stock. Also Virpil offers their bases separate from the grips, wich is a huge advantage if you already have TM grips and only need a new base. With VKB you have to purchase the complete stick, wich is significant more expensive and will make your TM grips useless over night.
  13. Amazing news, this will be day one purchase. Bringing back those DID memories is priceless, thank you guys so much for that! Would love to see a baltic/scandinavia map similar (may be a little bigger) as we had in EF 2000, this would be golden for this module!

    F-16 vs F-14

  15. I'd highly recommend the Hornet, since it is IMO the most capable and versatile jet in DCS right now, even while it's not feature complete. But still very much mission capable, it provides a widespread range of ordonance and is a great ground pounder, ship hunter and dogfighter. Sure there are better ground pounders, dogfighters and there are other multi-role jets in DCS, but none of them provides carrier ops (wich are great fun). The only jets in DCS that can compete with the Hornet in terms of versatility are the Viper and the JF-17, but as mentioned both don't provide carrier ops, the Viper is not as polished as the Hornet and the Jeff is not even capable of air to air refueling. With the Hornet you'll get the maximum that can be packed in a single jet and with the ongoing sale at 50% off, you'll definately get the most for your money.
  16. For the Hornet and the F-16, MFD 1 & 2 are auto mapped. For the Hornet, the top right switch (SYM) is not mapped for MFD 1 & 2, as the Hornet does not have that function for both DDI's. So you have one switch/2 buttons per MFD for individual use. I mapped them with A-A/A-G mode for MFD 1 and dispenser switch up/down for MFD 2. Not sure about the MPCD, as my second MFD pack is not ordered yet...
  17. Got my bases mounted to a simrig, so nothing flips over. The baseplate of the WarBRD base is indeed not the best solution. It's way too light and it's footprint is too small for comfortable desktop use IMO. If there is no possibility to mount it to a simrig or desk mount, i'd suggest purchasing a heavy steel plate and create something new instead of drilling the original Warthog baseplate. If you lack the tools, a local machinist will CNC cut, mill and drill it for a reasonable price. Just in case if you want to sell it some day.
  18. Same here. Using the WarBRD base with Warthog grip on top and heavy springs, as well as soft center avia cams installed. So far the best combo for the WarBRD base IMO. Tested the cosmo cams as well, but like the avia cams more. Also purchased the extra heavy springs as well, but haven´t tested them yet.
  19. Depends on what you buy. Their bases are excellent and so seem to be the rudder pedals. I do not own any of their grips (and won't ever), but heard and read about some issues here and there. VKB and TM grips are said to be way better in terms of used material and button quality. The grips are good, but not superior. I own all of the Virpil extensions and they are excellent quality, especially the 200mm S-type. Virpil has a are very good product line overall, but their customer support seems to be poor.

    Steam sale?

Upgraded to a 1000MBit connection. Steam needed ~30 seconds to download the 3,1Gb DCS update today. IMO, a 1-2 day delay for updates and equal discounts is more than acceptable for such a download rate...
  21. That stuff can be easily DIY. Monstertech uses standard profiles, ITEM-8 type. Take away all the additional stuff Monstertech adds to the profile, they take more than 100€ per meter from your wallet. Google these profiles and you will see that the price per meter is between 6€ - 32€, depending on size. The one Monstertech use is about 12-14€ per meter (black is slightly more expensive, but just a few bucks). And you will need like 1 meter for both mounts together (throttle+stick). Get a cheap but effective clamp, find a local machinist that will CNC cut your plates and drill and thread the profiles for you and you will get high quality and very sturdy desk mounts equal to the Monstertech stuff for like 1/3 or even 1/4 of their price.
  22. A TM Hornet Throttle replica would be a day one buy, same goes for the F-16. Best with the same footprints of the A-10 TQS fitting the same mounts...

    F16 Sale

  25. Both are separate controllers and can be mapped independently from each other. I think you could even morph them together as virtual controller in a target profile, should not be a problem.
