  1. if you're too low the "meatball" is under the ifols essentially so you'll need to climb a bit to get the meatball back in the rack.
  2. Try R-ctrl and Enter. It brings up what fitness88 was mentioning. I use the flippy tab on my force feedback joystick which isn't great but doing the job. As mentioned I never look at the throttle position EXCEPT when going to full mil and I don't want burner I need to look where it's at. I think at some point I will get the T1600M as a nice mid level throttle but until then...
  3. I'm ok waiting, i'm just glad they still working period! They could have easily said "ya we're closed, no update for you!" Stay safe ED crew, and everyone else. Thanks for continuing to work on the fixes to feed our fix!
  4. I don't know if it's an official term. But as it sounds (picture a snowplow). That's where it looks.
  5. Now that I think about it, I think the hornet when you launch a sparrow goes from TWS to STT automatically to give it that launch guidance then it's on it's own. Where in TWS the Aim-120 needs the feedback until pitbull.
  6. From what I understand (this only applies to hornet) the sparrow once you tell it "hey lock this target" tracks itself once launched. It's already actively seeking that target the moment you release it. The amraam on the other hand if launched from further out (this distance... depends) has a till active count down on the hud. It requires your radar to maintain lock on the target and feed that info back to the missile until it goes active. Once active it tracks itself to the target. This is the risk with amraam, if you launch it and it hasn't gone active yet and you lose lock with the target that missile will now go pitbull and just lock itself to whatever it sees first in front of it. Risk here being friendly fire. So it the hornet with sparrow doesn't need to track multiple targets.
  7. ohhhhhh this explains a lot... AND will avoid the button mashing frustration in the future!
  8. Ok, but how about how we enter them on the UFC? I know there's the normal waypoint Deg MM ?? (not sure if this is ss or decimal ss) And then when inputting corr for ordinance you can Deg MM ss . ss
  9. Is it maybe because you have your hud caged? As you can see the extra "vector" symbol to the right. I'm not sure, just putting it out there. So your aircraft is actually travelling to the right of where your nose is pointed.
  10. Why does the Amraam get such a bad rap when the R27 and Phoenix are essentially employed in the same manner? I don't fly anything but the hornet so have never fired them. But often I'll have not yet gotten into range for the Amraam and already have to defend against a Phoenix and/or R27.
  11. You guys try a "repair" of the install? It's a biggy so something may have been misplaced.
  12. HOLD THE PHONE...WHAT?! It will do that?!?!? I've been turning the pod off and back on to re centre it when I have no idea where it's looking anymore! TIL!!! :pilotfly::doh:
  13. If you put whatever target you're looking for was a waypoint (using the mission data for lat and long) you can use the SA page to get the pod looking in the general area. But then it's up to your Mk1's to find them. Try the different modes whether standard or FLIR blk hot and wht hot.
  14. That's encouraging! being also a modest rig.
  15. From what I recall you cannot use the radios without engines running. This may also be what is true in RW. There was a thread on the ground power and it's not like a civilian plane ground power. As for startup clearance that would all be with your Plane Captain who is the ramp person that's in charge of your plane so it's hand signals.

    No updates?

You gotta read the appropriate thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=189137&page=384
  17. @PACO you can do this manually essentially. If you have a waypoint setup as the target position, on the SA page you will see both where the TGP is looking as well as your waypoint. Slew the TGP diamond over your waypoint and now it's in the area. Not perfect but gets it looking in the right spot.
  18. Hmmm further researching this: Windows 10 will likely use the "least active drive". I have three drives OS on SSD (small older one which is almost full), and 2 HDD. I had all three with pagefiles but system info was showing only 9GB ish of pagefile which is all I could afford on the SSD… so I removed the pagefile on the SSD and left it on the two other HDD with 16384-16384 on each. Voila the pagefile jumped up. Further testing to follow but hopefully this did solve the issue.
  19. In regards to pagefile, I have the drive that DCS is on set with 32768-32768, but the main OS drive is set lower. The "overall" pagefile says "9,350" (ish, it was 9k something) available. Even though the DCS drive is higher. I'm not sure how exactly it's calculating or if the OS drive overrides everything else?
  20. Seems either not modeled well OR it is as IRL. Easiest way (albeit not RL practical) would be to start engines and let them idle. Just remember to top up tanks before leaving. But if you're wanting to repair then you are out of luck...
  21. Hi I posted them on this thread I made in the hornet section... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=260789 Thanks.
  22. I've seen both... and I'm no expert but I'm thinking if you launch it close enough it's gone active immediately after launch. If you launch earlier near Rmax you'll see the count down till active and this is when you need to keep your radar focused on the bandit.
  23. I was wondering if anyone knows of the RW or at least a recommended flight profile for making LGB runs? Currently I line up direct to target, wings level, get the release line, drop, stay wings level, trigger laze, hold same heading and wings level until impact. Then hard G pull back on target, reacquire new target, rinse repeat. BUT is there a better way? Is there a "normal" way? Maybe drop then turn keeping 10 degree bank to let laser keep eyes on target and not obstruct with own ship, etc. OR I guess as the laser doesn't "need" to be on right away you could drop fly straight for 10 sec, then hard turn back the other way laser on... could keep a smaller orbit but won't help with reacquiring a new target and end up cranking more than necessary.
  24. Game screen freezing but sounds are live I've been having an issue with DCS where the screen freezes but the sound remains live. Generally this is happening when entering a slot or after dying and pressing ESC to select slot again. I haven't been able to pin point where exactly this is happening, but it's happening fairly often and requires Task manger to close DCS and restart. Log attached. I only fly the hornet so i'm not sure if it's specific to that or not.
