Was hoping the late 80s VF-1, VF-2, VF-41, VF-84 liveries from Reflected would make it. Downloading now to see how they handle.

Never have worked for me with Tomcat.
-
ah, I'm using 2.1.0 not beta, since I thought I saw someone post that it supported F-14A now. Which it seems to... kinda.

I cannot find autoexec.cfg in my steam install nor the original Samsung Windows Mixed Reality 800ZBA0.lua (only the saved off copy I moved to another directory). Did the locations change at some point with 2.5.6? I'm looking in C:\Users\<User>\Saved Games\DCS\

Is the F-14A-95-GR only IRIAF or can there be a USN version? Would there be any effective difference for the game? Is Jester the same or an accented version?

How did you line them up like that behind the JBD?

It was the same error before 2.1.0 but I just played the F-14B, had good functionality and then when I played the F-14A again to get the exact error it didn't do it and everything worked, so please disregard. EDIT: Did it again this morning. I loaded a custom mission from the mission editor and the log said "new airframe: F-14A-135-GR" and then "invalid or unsupported aircraft". No vibration at all. Then I started the F-14B Instant Action Case I Supercarrier mission and everything worked. I started the F-14A Instant Action and everything worked again. I then went back to my loaded mission and everything worked this time. One other note, the vibration from F-14A lasts alot longer even if I exit the mission I was still getting vibration for a good 2-3 minutes whereas it used to end about 30 seconds or so for the F-14B. I took a picture on my phone and will add that next since I'm playing in VR, so I usually exit in the game and then take off my headset but that automatically closes Simshaker for Aviators. I generally like the behavior but apparently the log was gone so not as convenient for t/s.

Something about us messing up his spine, too.

I just downloaded 2.1.0 but got the same error with the F-14A. Do I need to uninstall the old one first or does the new installer overrwrite/remove the first one?

Lighting can be kinda screwy in DCS, but putting the wands and gestures is graphics/ texture work and expanding on what they already have (ground crew, lights coming on at night, etc)
-
Appreciate the big stuff and understand big projects take longer... though small steps would go a long way to the showing progress in the meantime. Night wands should be relatively easy low hanging fruit. Adding another freq and box in the mission editor for tower another (even if perhaps temporary while waiting for larger ATC project).

Most VR only record from one eye, so that's probably his left.

Does the Hornet have a better radar than the Tomcat?
Uxi replied to CBenson89's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Eh, when I first got the module, I thought the hypoxia from not turning on oxygen was a graphics glitch. (Jester didn't tell me to on assisted startup, nor is it mentioned in the cold start tutorial). Needs some G effect breathing with it. -

A shame there's no simulation, however rudimentary, on ECM & ECCM since it is a crucial aspect. -
Supercarrier thinks the F-14A is a Hornet. They also give the hand signal to raise the launch bar. That was the behavior on the F-14B before the first patch.

Those first three are epic! Amazing weathering.

That's gonna open up the F-14D thing again.
-
I'm always modulating throttles when taxiing, so maybe just used to it.
-
Hmm can't say I really noticed a difference with my Virpil MongoosT50CM (v3) from F-14A to B. I had to invert my axis, though. And I had to add a curve to light the AB after my 3d printed detents, but that was only noticeable at top end and after having the F-14B for awhile.
-
Ah yeah that makes more sense. I've done THAT too on my high speed runs, get up to speed, then drop tanks when empty and keep accelerating. But at least not AS bad.
-
Yeah, and then I like to save the original zips in case I need to recover or they disappear... but that's another 20GB zipped up. Really really need a way to do dynamic modex. Even if the onus was perhaps on those making the livery. Maybe some sort of paintkit that only included the extra modex and/or carrier markings?
