  1. I have actually started SSA more than once. Caught it before I was playing though. Should probably have a sanity check to say it's already running. I've also had it in the tray bit then not come up until I right clicked and told it to start, too when playing multiple times in a day with gaps. Tuning, I've turned off engine rumble and wing folding. Even turned down to 05 or less seemed a bit too noticeable. I could maybe see a "thunk" for the Hornet or when the Tomcat bags deflate maybe but not during motion.
  2. Finally got all my parts, everything drilled and mounted and an Arduino Pro Micro standing by. The wiring OTOH is kinda confusing me. I get the columns but not the rows of the concept. 32 total functions. 6 x SPST push buttons, 6 push button rotary, 4 toggles (2 with covers). After my arrangement, learned there are no air flow control bindings, nor Emergency flight Hydraulics... skipped the Master Test entirely but might revisit for v2, in which I'd like to try something with the rotating Grumman buttons from my 3D printer. Otherwise covering the illumination with the rotaries and the push buttons doing the light toggles then one for ICLS and the little button for the bit. One toggle will probably get the landing hook and the other the hook bypass. Trying to avoid anything to my chair with Monstertech mounts but contemplating a front panel with 3-4 MFD bezels and some graphics inserts with working buttons and rotaries drive I fly in VR and don't need them visibly functional. Will probably precede with left and right vertical consoles with 3D printed gear and landing hook levers next.
  3. Huh? I had no change at all in Tomcat on SC. Hornet I had to add the binding.
  4. Ah built my button box with the Air Flow control push buttons... but no bindings. Possible to get more added one of these patches?
  5. They've never definitely said no is more where I'm going as much as "not under consideration at this time." Most of the specifics on their responses as far as I've seen were on lack of specific documentation of the various MFD, PTID pages, etc. Knowing what they had to replace (HSD, VDI, etc) and the functionality they had to portray (comparable to equivalent era Hornets) would certainly give EA justification for a few "Not yet implemented" pages, etc... and many could be interpolated... if they think there's a viable market there. The Iran angle is fairly preposterous when thinking they would be able to use anything on 50 year old A frames that lack the functionality of what we already have in the game, let alone a D. Hopefully this idea goes through the govt to get the remaining info declassified. Much of that could hopefully be loosened by the licensing negotiations. So definitely not two weeks, not short term... intermediate would be wishful thinking but yeah. Kinda hoping the mod community will step in at some point, in the meantime.
  6. That's not quite what they said. More that they're focused on finishing A and B and some data may be limited Besides which the F-15E is coming out with very similar systems and it's not they couldn't find SME for it...
  7. Awesome. Gotta see about printing this up.
  8. I'd be quite content with F-14B Upgrade, as well but yeah the F-14D would be my favorite plane by far.
  9. Is there any way to set the BRC in the mission editor? For example, want it in there already on a mission launching on the cat.
  10. Want! Anyone notice that the high viz Jolly Rogers livery says it's an F-14B Upgrade? The resolution of Steam VR screenshots does not do justice to how well this actually looks in VR

    Ball Call

I haven't gotten VAICOM yet, but Voice Attack did make this much easier

    Ball Call

In my experience this is caused by being too high or laterally out of the window. The F-14 trap sheets show the limits and your path through them but don't believe the F-18 has them unfortunately.
  13. Got it, thanks. I'll definitely be donating as this was an excellent first impression Did a case 1 recovery on both Tomcat and Hornet. Didn't really notice a jolt on touching the deck but am always watching a dozen things then. Tomcat was very much shaking and afterburners were a joy. Definitely smiled as I felt the landing gear close when I cat launched again. I thought the Hornet would be much more calm in comparison... not as much noise but felt almost as much shaking though it was noticeably less. Need to adjust my seating some as I tend to lean forward in my chair so will get used to that.
  14. Ah. Is that a separate license? I'm plugged in USB so don't need the audio connection, too right? Still this is a massive thread so still reading posts. Sounds like I may look too add a buttkicker in a few months, too, but will give this a shot alone first.
  15. My Simshaker Jetpad finally came today. Whew. Got everything strapped in and hooked up, installed the driver and control panel. Enjoyed a quick massage and had to go to work. Noticed the control panel gives an error unless I open as admin. Understand I still need to install the simshaker wings software to make it work with DCS? Anything in DCS settings? Few more hours and I'll be flying again. Hopefully have my button box done this weekend.
  16. Jester is already calling bolters many times. Just need to make the hook skip when he does for starters. Add the rest later. Maybe throw in an oddball where he'll say "oops, nevermind" or something like that for him getting it wrong sometimes.
  17. What other kneeboard pages do you have in there? Thinking of adding some/all of those in my own kneeboards.
  18. Yup, it's about the last control I need to not need to use the mouse for any Case I landing. It's been requested here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235229 I really need this and the Emergency Flight Hydraulics (toggle hopefully since I'd be using the down of an (on)-off-(on) momentary to toggle the cover in game with a real switch cover so I can do a cold start without the mouse.
  19. MCG definitely felt a bit weird at first and buttons were underwhelming on first impression. I'm very used to them now. I hardly ever use the top two buttons (AP Off and LVLNG). I moved the red cap to Gun which is my weapon release for US fighters.
  20. Awesome. Looking forward to it.
  21. Yeah I was supercruising like I was a Super Tomcat 21 lol
  22. With the last patch something happened to make Preset act like Guard and vice versa on the pilot radio. When I'm in Preset, it's only 243.000 and when I go to Guard I can change my channels normally.
  23. Just took a flight. You rock, that's perfec, thankst! Did something to the radios, though. Preset is acting like Guard and Vice Versa.
  24. Probably more because it's the least amount of overlap and get two for the price of one as much as anything. Not sure I'd agree that the vanes did nothing. Grumman seemed to think they were most effective at supersonic flight enough that their shape was going to be included "extended" in the ST21 and for some more fuel storage. Obviously there was a trade off in complexity, though the anecdotes of pilots figuring out they were useful to some degree in subsonic flight that they were forcing them open (and causing damage?) is interesting, too. Would have been nice to have gotten an early F-14A and late F-14B(U) for more differentiation between the two. Would love to have them all, of course though the F-14D is highest on my list and would gladly buy that separately.
  25. Supercarrier was only about a month maybe. OB is much more stable than it was, if updates are much more infrequent.
