  1. I followed the instructions and "Forrestal 1987" showed up in the pulldown but it looks identical. Works for me.
  2. For Enterprise, I would want the nuclear Long Beach and Bainbridge. Truxtun, California and Virginia CGN would be nice, too.

  4. FWIW, I spend most of the tutorial on a new plane doing my HOTAS mappings. Since the defaults are usually keyboard bindings I'm rarely going to use.
  5. Adding static shooters and green shirts in between cats 1 and 2 goes a long way. Would prefer the animated crew come in, but would be ok with it as is. Just come out with Saratoga and Ranger or just let the current model put on livery with the right number and name maybe. What I really want for Supercarrier level is Enterprise. Maybe Nimitz and Ike.
  6. Bio's Tomcat RIO book made it sound like RIO would keep adding more on long flights.
  7. Grumman offered to take them off, to save cost, maintenance but it was refused... someone thought they could be useful in the intercept role, maybe. There is an anecdote that some pilots figured out they helped in certain low speed maneuvers and were manually deploying them but they weren't designed for that and were causing damage. The shape was useful enough that they were built in permanently in ST-21 and were going to store some extra fuel.
  8. Best solution there is for the carrier to be skinable and have fresh and dirty versions in the pull-down menu in the mission editor. If not change the number on the bow & island and name on the stern for the other ships in class). The latter wouldn't catch some of the antenna or mast changes but would let the community relieve some man hours from HB's plate.

  10. Lighting was screwed up on the F-14, so hopefully that's fixed.
  11. Nimitz, Ike and Enterprise are definitely needed. Give Stennis the SC model but maybe leave off the deck crew and cities goodies. Maybe a late Cold War Asset Pack could include the SC Nimitz subclass, Enterprise, and appropriate escorts.
  12. I usually try to get the launch bar right over the shuttle in F2 view on non SC. That plane captain and basic moving deck crew should be standard.

  16. That's an SC feature part of the ground crew so if SC compatibility gets added.
  17. Went through the 2 hour IA mission a couple times. Pretty fun. Especially how circumstances can change. My first run through I was 2 of 2 right away so got the special mission call. Next run through missed a couple times...
  18. That's strange. Never saw that. For some reason some of my NTTR saved games always spawn now with the nose wheel all the way to the left. IIRC something to do with DCS remembering the last state of the aircraft in that config?
  19. Supercarrier needs to have deck crew running from explosions and towards chutes in the water (separately lol) instead of just standing there.
  20. The concern would be without a proper JBD that you could be blowing men and aircraft around, causing death & destruction, not that it wouldn't work for the launching aircraft.
  21. Like the idea. Doesn't the shooter need to know the weight for the cat? Maybe give you launch weight and let you calculate your ladder manually so it's not all new & fancy like the Hornet?
  22. On the new F-14B EGIT gauges is the FF not supposed to increase in full burner? It stayed at 8000 engaging the burner. When I drop out of burner, it blips down to 7000 to going back to 8000 at mil. I didn't see temperature changing, either....
