Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread Vyrtuoz, would you mind explaining how that works and what is it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Does having too many activated modules cause stutter?
WildBillKelsoe replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS 2.9
Yes I have heat blur on. Yes it does struggle, mainly now Mig-15 trying to slave magnetic compass causes lag in pressing and releasing the slaving button. I'm just waiting on the Ti to die on me so I invest in 1080 Ti (if there is one). However my monitor is 16:10, 1366*768 native resolution. If I take the 1080, definitely I'd get also TH2Go and split on three widescreen monitors. Javelina, I will get the SSD for DCS only as all my other games including Arma 3, RoFICe, ETS2, SH3, SBPro (albeit also some stutter on that last one in loaded scenarios) function more or less adequately. Once I have the SSD I shall report here if the stutter is gone under current settings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
so if a Panzer or Sherman sustained a direct hit from a rocket or bomb, the thin armor on top would "trampoline" the bombs to the sides you mean? Have you seen the A-10 knocking the humvee with a bomb? why would a tank require 3500 bombs? A tank can go dysfunctional from the impact even a non direct hit is sufficient to unchain the treads and cave the armor from the shockwave. Any unlucky tanker on the side will lose teeth from that effect, and usually its the loader.. if not his life... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Piotr, thanks for the advice. As to my specs, AMD FX8150 Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti OC 2Gb 8 Gigs of RAM HDD 1TB Win 7 Home Standard TIR4 pro TMWH MFG Crosswind Its important to know too, that I have no lag with F-5E or Belsimtek and ED modules, with the best running one being A-10C (no stutters at all), at least in airbase. In air, as described above, with fly by view rear aspect. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
does it apply to the A Grach?

RIP sir. It looks like misjudgement of height from seeing the angle of attack change just before impact. I think he was not G-LOC. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
In addition to Ironhand tutorials, I also suggest you google Su-27 BVR combat guide which is a tactical reading than a procedural one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So I have the following activated modules: FC3,A-10C, AJS, Bf109, P-51D, F-5E, CA, Mi-8, UH-1, Mig-15. There is a FPS drop when inside airbases sometimes reaching 15 FPS in some modules, like AJS. Outside airbases and flying high, this gets to 25 FPS. when moving to F3 view flyby, the plane acts normal, and on passing up close its ok too, just when rear aspect is shown (going away), the stutter occurs momentarily on ALL modules. My question is, does having that much activated modules within Caucasus cause this? Shall I remove some modules that I dont regularly fly? It has been long since I thought about a SSD. Is it easy to transfer 1.5 to it from C:/Program Files if I get one? Or should I uninstall it from the C then download it and install it on the SSD if I do get one? Shall I get a 128 GB or 256 GB SSD for DCS? I am not sure if its hardware or software problem so I hope I posted it right where it belongs.

Well to be honest, Fortress Mozdok is a very difficult campaign to a beginner. The force ratios make it unplayable and demands a tactical approach rather than a procedural approach. I am currently playing it so tell me which mission is bothering you. Maybe I passed it, maybe I did not. Would love to help though. Here are a few things I did to tactically advance in Fortress Mozdok: 1- If you are faced with more than double the number of your flight, edit missions individually to delete the extra units. This can only be done to included campaigns and not payware campaigns like Ultimate Argument. 2- Add additional flights on your side. 3- Leave the mission as is, but move to tactical thinking. For example, have half your flight go on the route, and take the other half opposite to that route. That way when bandits are united, they can be split with your element attacking from flanks as opposed to head on for the whole flight. 4- The campaign is mostly in mountainous regions crossed, so use mountains to mask your approach and get stealth kills by using the EOS instead of radar when close enough. 5- Get bandits to shoot at you then reverse course to drag them in range of your air defences, preferably on top, then deal with the rest of them that remains. 6- Look at other elements and see where they will be during the course of mission. If they are closer in time and location, they could engage the bandits and at least attrite some, leaving some for you to finish off. If they are gone, at least they have absorbed much of missiles carried, leaving only less missiles to be fired on you. If a strike package is to be protected overhead, do not do this. Instead drag bandits away from said strikers and keep them occupied until the primary is achieved, then exit the fight. You dont have to get kills to score, just meet objectives. 7- Use lots of notching and recall wingmen engaged then have them re engage. This works like 5 above, except towards more armed friendlies airborne. 8- Stay low, but never slow.
